Now see, this is what happens when an author tries to make what should be ONE book into 2. The 2nd book did not fulfill my expectations.

~~~~~~3 Very Torn Stars~~~~~~
This picks up where the previous book left off. Three months goes by and Jewell is being auctioned off and Blake buys her for one month.
There was a plot twist which left confused (I did not see that coming) and leads too much rushed ending.
Looking forward to reading Byron and Mackenzie's story.
The second book wasn't as good as the first book and the surprise at the end kinda threw me a little bit. I thought that Blake changed he character a little too abruptly to become the good guy, I would've liked to see why he changed, (view spoiler)
2.5 stars
Read all melody anne books and loved all of them, never rate less than 3, and most I would rate at 4 stars....
Loved the first book but was disappointed with this, firstly it needed more editing, silly grammatical errors. Secondly, the book is advertised at over 300 pages, which really all it was is about 130 pages.
Also everything very rushed, basic story good but could of had more depth, expanded on it so we could get to know the characters. 1 minute he lear
I have read most of Melody Anne's books, all the Billionaire Bachelors books, and all the Baby for the Billionaire series. Reading Broken ... it was like whoever wrote this book was not the same Melody Anne who wrote some of my most favorite books.
Some of the story was just downright unbelievable ... and some parts were never explained. I hate that, when something happens without rhyme or reason and that's it ... we never know how or why it happened. I don't think I'll read another book in this
I was so disappointed in this book. Part 1 of this book started out so beautifully and I liked it so much that I wished I didn't come to read book 2. I just didn't understand why the author had to ruin the story by connecting unbelievably ridiculous twists. It was like reading 2 books by different authors who just tried to connect the 2 books to make it one story.
This one missed the mark. There was a twist is storyline that was completely unbelievable.
Um... Ok? The first book was awesome, but this one??? Wth???
First off, did Blake lose his spine somewhere? He turned into a bloody sap. All of his strength was gone, and it felt so FORCED. It disconnected me from him faster than a speeding bullet. He was an ASSHOLE, but not the good kind too. I'll control her! Yea, fuck off genius, and go live in a cave if you're lacking rational thought. How the hell did you become a billionaire if your thoughts are as clear as mud? Geezus, you sucked.
Okay, so the first booked sucked me in and had me hooked and the second one... well it just sort of confused me. I mean, there were some things in there that I found completely unnecessary and honestly, with what we know about Blake, what would the odds be?
I'm trying not to spoil anything but I feel like towards the ending this one sort of fell apart. I'm not sure if it was being rushed just to finish it or what? There were considerably more editing mistakes. Which I don't generally fault but t
Surprisingly Pleased
I am going to be truthful when I finished Betrayed, I wasn't sure how I felt about the whole story line. Had I not read the Surrender Series I may not have had any hope that Blake might actually redeem himself. Still when I finished Betrayed, I hated Blake and especially hated Mackenzie Beaumont, never in a million years did I really think I might even want to like her and am anxious to hear her story. I don't really appreciate spoilers so I won't say too much but this book
This was good, really good. In the beginning I really didn’t want to root for either Blake nor Jewell even if she fell on hard times it was still her choice to go to the agency. I hate stories with the guy being uber rich and the women being out there needing to do whatever to solve a problem. Too much control for the man to have and I was thinking that with the first book but of course I was pulled into what was going on and I have to say I loved every second of it. The twist had me blown away ...more
This one was not so great. I liked better the first book. It was more promising. But this one was a little ... i don't know ... predictable. Maybe it would have been better to write only one book with their story and not drag it for too long.
And the girl really annoyed me at some point. She was doubting herself all the time and i don't like that in a woman. I want to believe that women are stronger and willing to fight for what they want. Not give up so easily. The end was not that great for me
oh, sadly this was just terrible. First, Blake was a complete ass, for two books. He makes a complete turn-around which was completely best. Jewel was a pushover prostitute that made me want to reach through and hit her, most of the time.
Sex, submission, control, possession...blah, blah, blah...
Returned it for a refund after quickly skimming through the last 50%
And the epilogue there!
I jumped straight from book 1 to book 2. I had to know what happened with Blake and Jewell's story! I am a huge Melody Anne fan and I am really enjoying this series! I am really excited to see what happens with the other two Knight brothers as well! Already started book 3!
I was so totally impressed with the first book in this series that I almost stayed up all night to read when I found the second book was already out. Then I quickly realized the second book took a long ride to crazytown. It didn't go at all like it should have and I don't mean I wanted it to be predictable. It just would have been nice for it to make a little sense. People being this stupid is boring; and then, the sperm bank thing, like finding a bug in your cereal, it's just wrong on so man
This was a great ending to Jewell and Blake's story. The crazy twist at the end was a nice touch. I still love Tyler's character. He is the constant calm between both Blake and Byron. He's a great friend to Jewell, and a positive influence for Justin. Byron is a hard nut to crack in this one. He is by far the worst off after what happened to their parents. McKenzie has me stumped. In book one she was a hard ass madam. She seemed to mainly care about business and money. In this book she is a supp ...more
I have read all of Melody's contemporary books. I have been a fan from that day to now. I love her because you can always expect quality and consistency from her books at all times. So,there is no surprise or hesitation to purchase her books at all. As such this series was no exception I absolutely enjoyed Bound(bk 1) and Broken was the icing on top the cake!!! When a writer is able to evoke an emotional rollercoaster of feelings within your reading experience I would say job well done.
Really good ending to first book
I really enjoyed this second part of this couple's story. I have one really big issue (it'll be a little vague for those who have not read this yet because I don't want to spoil it)...the true relationship part of the story between Blake & Justin isn't explained. This arc is left wide open. How in the world would Blake even think about the possibility? A minor thing that bothered me was how could Jewell still think that Blake was completely using her when they
As Jewel goes to work for Relinquish Control as an escort this book opens. This is the second in the series. Of course it wouldn't be complete without the entry of Blake Knight. He is really into Jewel and after a few months he needs to see her. She is auctioned off to the highest bidder for a month. Guess who gets her? Now she has to do what he asks to save her brother and make enough money to get him back from foster care. Boy this book didn't disappoint and it brought out somethings I didn't ...more
This was the follow-up book to "Bound" by Melody Anne. I had my doubts after I read #1 whether I wanted to read #2 and I'm afraid those doubts continue even after reading #2. The small part of the book that was actually the HEA I was waiting for since Book #1 was beautiful, but otherwise there was a plot twist that was unbelievable, a "prostitute" auction that was kind of laughable and total personality changes for the main H and the madame from Book #1. It seemed this book was written almost so ...more
Omg I have to say I really enjoyed Jewell and Blake's story and it shows how 2 people meant to be together can heal each other. This book picks up 3 months from the events of the first book. Jewell is lost and unbeknown to her so is Blake, but he wants answers and is determined to get what he wants. They both try to deny their feelings but the heart wants what it wants. Again a great read. The plot deepens, with a good twist I wouldn't expect, the angst is high but so is the love and sex. I love ...more
Blake and Jewell have a very complicated relationship. They have a lot to work through in this book, and there are some surprises along the way. I really enjoyed it, although I was a nervous wreck about what would happen. Blake didn't seem like the kind of man to change, and Jewell 's life was in a tailspin. I liked the friendship that developed between Jewell and Mckenzie, as well as the support Tyler gave Jewell as well. Byron was another story. He seems to be even more closed off than Blake, ...more
This is another brilliant read from Melody Anne and the Forbidden Series is just brilliant and mind twisting and I can't wait for book 3 to come out
The twists that are in this book has thrown me for a loop and has be thrilled to what happens next Blake is so devastating handsome and devious it's a wonder he has a heart and not stone the way he pulls Jewel's heart strings he is definitely a master puppeteer
I love Tyler he is just brilliant but Byron scares me more than Blake does can't wait to he
I enjoyed the story and the characters. But, it should have all been in one book. I resent that I had to pay 4$ to get to the end. For a 200 page story, the price should have reflected that. Oh, and there were editing problems in this book that wasn't in the 1st book. Shouldn't have been more than 2$ for this 2nd book. Now I am afraid to spend the 4$ on the 3rd book in this series. What if it's just another 200 page book & therefore not as thorough as it should be. If the 1st book in the ser ...more
A little bit lukewarm about this one after the explosive finish of the first one. Blake changed a little bit too quickly from being a bad guy into a good guy and Jewel is too much in doubt of herself why Blake wants her. My jaw totally dropped when the secret with Jewel's brother was out.... seriously??
Anyway, at least this book concludes the relationship between the couple. I'm however super curious about McKenzie and so looking forward to her story that comes out in Jan.
continues where the first book left off.
Great book but I didn't think he was that much older than Jewelle..Without giving anything away. Im somewhat confused on the conflict between Blake, Jewelle, and Justin. How? I got the blunt of it and I may have overlooked it.. but I was left somewhat confused on the whole conflict.. How old would that leave Blake making that donation (if you know what I mean)?
Anyhoo, still an awesome book and great ending.
Would recommend.
A good continuation of the Story Line
I truly enjoyed seeing the next installment of Blake and Jewells story. It was riveting and easily held my attention. The reason I could only give it 4 stars is because I felt it needed to be edited for grammar once more. There were so many grammatical errors it was jarring to the read, you'd have to read a sentence a few times to figure it out sometimes.
I do look forward to the next book and hope it is better edited.
Review for the series
I jumped into this series because of the connection from Surrender Series, wasn't much of a connection though. I enjoyed book 2, much more, then book one Bound. I love this author, her creativity & storytelling is incredible- however I wasn't a huge fan of this series, unfortunately. The male characters are terrible, really nasty. The woman characters are wimpy & catty. I honestly missed the passion, fire, & love from the story, it was just lacking. An ok story
