Plot in a nutshell
A young journalist – Tori finds herself embroiled in the dark undertakings of an underground cult of snake lovers. They use her in a ritual to turn her into a half snake ‘Nagaran’. Because of that, she spends the rest of the novel trying to get out of the underground prison and battles to uncover the truth about her mysterious family. The Flight of the Torque by Rebecca Laffar- Smith (Book One of the Nagaran)
An interesting beginning to what promises to be a somewhat dark and intriguing series.( Currently, it is not clear how many books the series will comprise.) This is a fast paced read, which will appeal to the many fans of paranormal suspense. Author Rebecca Laffar-Smith has created a heroine in Tori who goes from the real world into an altogether darker place. She learns she has previously unknown and unasked for shape ch

A gripping tail full of danger, suspense and mystery. It deals with supernatural, evil and darkness, but at this point it's not focusing on the dark, but the light. I hope it stays that way as the series continues.

I didn't plan on reading this book as I'm not keen on this genre. But I was curious about Rebecca's writing style. So I read the free Sample. By the time the sample ended, this well-written story had slithered its way in and sunk its fangs. I just had to find out what happened next.

As much as I tried, and I tried because it was a book written by a friend. I just could not get into it. Nothing against the book, it just wasn't my cup of tea.
