Penny Lane Bloom founded The Lonely Hearts Club, which means that she basically doesn’t date. She’s got her awesome girls to hang out with, she’s got her hilarious (and sometimes annoying) family, she’s working towards high grades to get into a great college–she’d never give up any of that to be with a boy.

But all of a sudden, the rules of the Club have changed and Penny’s

Fun and very swoony. I really love Ryan and Penny together, and this cements it. I can't wait for We Can Work It Out! ...more

Funny, sweet and everything a story by Elizabeth Eulberg means.

Also, LOVED the second chapter.

More like a 3.5. It was SUPER short but cute. Hadn’t read the books in awhile but this brought me right back to this group

I have reviewed every single book in this series, from the main novels to this shitty novellas, so just as in my other diatribes, I am going to say bad words and let my anger be the one that writes this paragraphs.
You have been warned.

Let's begin by recalling what a horrible bitch the protagonist is.
She just drives me fucking insane with all her double standards.
I feel like Elizabeth Eulberg tried too hard to make this a feminist, progressive and empowering character but failed terribly at it.

This novella picks up right after the end of The Lonely Hearts Club.

It's all about Penny and Ryan's first official date. They are so cute, they gave a serious case of The Feels. Makes me want to have the new Lonely Hearts book right now.

Excellent short story!

Short story

This is one of three short stories that the author wrote to help spam the gap between books in her series. This one happens second time wise. It would be best if you have read the book and other short story already but if you don't mind spoilers you can read it as a standalone. It is geared for a younger female audience but it isn't bad even if you don't fall into that group.

Set just before the Christmas holidays. I like that even though Penny falls back into bad habits, she's aware enough to dedicate herself to changing for the better. ...more

Two of Us is another short story by author Elizabeth Eulberg, also part of The Lonely Hearts Club series. The story starts off warning the reader that it's a total spoiler if you haven't read The Lonely Hearts Club, and I completely agree. With that in mind, I'll put the rest of this review under a spoiler tag :)

So sweet! This is the second novella for the LONELY HEARTS CLUB and it's time for Penny to go on a date with Ryan. Filled with all those nervous flutters and swoony moments. Perfect preparation for the sequel: WE CAN WORK IT OUT, which comes out on January 27th.
I highly recommend this and ALL Elizabeth Eulberg's books! If you like YA contemporary novels, you will love her novels and novellas. :D
Now this is what I was expecting, kinda. I thought the continuation to The Lonely Hearts Club would take place years after but it isn't. It's like going back in time and finding out what happened after the book ended. Anyway, I really liked this short story. Penny and Ryan go on their second date and it was SO ADORABLE! ...more

Of the three Lonely Hearts shorts, this one was the cutest. It is the story of Penny Lane's and Ryan's first date. It's sweet and hits all the right notes with Penny being infatuated but insecure and worried about how liking Ryan will effect her club. ...more

Short little snippet. Would've loved to have seen more, but I guess that's what Book 2 is for. I haven't read Book 1, but I know what happens. If you're not into spoiler alerts, read that one first because this one will ruin it for you. ...more
Again, sweet and fun but wholly unnecessary extended scene from Elizabeth Eulberg's Lonely Hearts Club series. If you're a fan of this series, these may be worth a read, but make sure you are reading for free. Do not buy money to read these extended scenes because they're not worth it.
