I was so captivated by this book... the characters and story are beautifully constructed and woven together with such insightful tender prose. Since the sex trade is the backdrop not the backbone of the novel, it never overpowers the larger more prominent themes of betrayal, courage and love. As you read, you feel more and more connected to the characters, not through shared experiences but in a way that is universal to the human condition.
