"All I could see was Taylor. His blue eyes. The way he stared at me. All of his emotions. All the things he wanted to do to me. He would destroy me. He would break me down into something less than I already was."

"You're addicted to drugs."
"That doesn't make me sick."
"It makes you lost. But anyone can be found."
"I can't be fixed, Rhett."
"Anything broken can be fixed."

Lost was the only thing I had been my whole life. The wandering girl who fucked...and lusted ... That was me.

The first chapter opens up and we get our first chapter from Rhett’s POV. Faye is finally forced to get help with her problems, she’s deemed a hazard to herself and Rhett want’s her to get clean.
Rhett was just a character I tolerated in the first three installments, he was someone I didn’t particularly care for but I accepted him because Faye liked him. That changes in this book, this was the Filthy that made me truly love Rhett. The soul-crushing last chapter is my favorite in the whole series and it cemented my feelings for Rhett.
Though this is the fourth time I’ve read this book, I still get this anticipatory anxiety when reading, it doesn’t matter that I already know what’s going to happen or even that I know what happens next; I experience it like it’s my first time reading the words.

❝The darkness swallows her
Until there’s nothing left
Until she begs for mercy
Until she’s screaming, clawing to breathe
Until she’s gone.❞

"That the filth of my sins didn't ruin everything I loved."
