Joe Venn, hero of OMEGA DOG and DELTA GHOST, returns...
Detective Lieutenant Joe Venn heads the New York Police Department’s Division of Special Projects, a unit dedicated to investigating crimes of a politically sensitive nature. He’s good at his work, he’s got his own handpicked team, and he has free rein to do the job exactly how it needs to be done.
And his personal life is a total mess.
Dr Beth Colby, traumatized by the events of DELTA GHOST, has left Venn, for the sake of her own fragile sanity. She’s keeping things together by concentrating on her career as a young, up-and-coming attending physician at one of Manhattan’s most prestigious hospitals.
But Beth starts to notice unsettling signs of irregularities in a fellow doctor’s death rates. Discrepancies that point to something sinister, and have potentially explosive political repercussions.
And the only person she can turn to for help is the man she’s desperate to avoid.
Joe Venn...
In Winnebago County, Illinois, a riot at the maximum-security Horn Creek correctional facility leads to the escape of seven of the most dangerous criminals in America. Among them is Gene Drake, a man serving a life sentence for multiple murder. A man who was finally apprehended nearly a decade ago by a Chicago detective named Joe Venn. With his own deadly four-person team, Drake heads east.
Toward New York City, where he’s planning on revenge.
As Venn plunges ever deeper into a shocking conspiracy which penetrates the highest echelons of New York society, and Beth struggles to balance the demands of her conscience against the emotional turmoil which threatens to derail her life, Gene Drake closes in on his quarry.
I'm British born but grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. Currently I live near London with my wife and daughters, where I work as a doctor in the National Health Service. Ratcatcher is my debut novel.
Another good book from Tim Stevens, this time with the third outing for Joe Venn. Joe is again dodging bullets, trying to get to the bottom of a problem medical problem. A good read, although the ending felt rushed.
Great plot and wonderful characters The situation in which the characters find themselves are somewhat in realistic for the majority of people the reactions are definitely in line with the circumstances.
Loved this book in the Joe Venn series. The book was NEVER boring, plenty of action and often things one didn't see coming. As an avid reader, I suggest you put this book on your list as a have to read.
