Regardless of what you think of Elon Musk there is no question that he has amazing intuition as far as cresting technologies. The ability to maintain faith in yourself (even as everyone else tells you that you are wrong) is a lesson we can all learn from Elon Musk. I think he has lots more 'techno-rabbits' to pull out of his hat in the years to come!

I would like to read a good biography of Elon Musk...this isn't it. It reads like a high school term paper and there is no perspective here. Pretty awful.

What a poorly written book. Unfortunate that a topic about a highly intelligent, self made man seems to be written by someone with very little understanding of the English language. It made the content, which otherwise should have been fascinating, a very distracting read.

Just to start--Elon is my hero.

I have no words to describe how much I like what he is currently doing for all of us. This books is an excellent introduction to learn where he comes from and a bit about why he may be the way he is. All I can say is that we definitely need more people like him--He is one of the greatest people we all need to emulate and learn from.

I sure hope Tesla (and all his other projects) can do what they are targeting on doing.

Strongly recommend this book as it help us understand where he comes from....and where he is trying to get to.

Mistaken this book with the highly rated Ashlee Vance book. This book simply touches on the highlights of Elon Musk’s journey and doesn’t give in depth insights you can’t find on Wikipedia.

Still decent to read the high level achievements though.

Success ain't success if it came on a silver plate. This book taught me that for one to be a master of success, one should be ambitious and focused. Elon Musk became successful because he fought his way to success through hard work, smart work, focus, and taking risks.
This is a good read.

My sister and I grew up with "electricity" as a common topic of discussion at home. Our father was an electrical engineer trained at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Copies of the magazine IEEE were always present on the coffee table. We moved to Houston in the late 1960s (when still in grade school), so our father could work on the first manned moon mission. Although we did not pursue careers in engineering, we came to appreciate it a great deal. I mention this because that background heightened my appreciation of, "Elon Musk: Biography of a Self-Made Visionary, Entrepreneur and Billionaire."

The book is a slim volume, and I can imagine it being read aloud to an appreciative audience eager to learn about the unique and stellar career of Elon Musk. The book is easier to absorb and understand than other more intense biographies with extensive footnotes. It is unpretentious and a very positive presentation about Elon and his life.

B Storm notes, "Some of Elon Musk's ideas were once only thought of as concepts in the world of science fiction, but with the right blend of determination, enthusiasm, and hard work, he was able to prove that his visions could become reality." Clearly, his entrepreneurial spirit and unquenchable drive to make the impossible possible set Elon Musk apart. Zip2, PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla Motors, SolarCity and Hyperloop are each thoughtfully discussed, as are Elon Musk's youth and personal experiences.

I was inspired when I read, "Musk's ventures all revolve around one theme, and that is to improve the world and change the way we live with the help of technological innovations. A lot of people are too focused on making money and creating a name for themselves, and while that is not entirely a bad thing, Musk's visions are more than that."

I can imagine this book being the basis for a documentary film. Something to consider, perhaps!

I thought that the book was a great overview of Elon Musk, his personal life and the companies and projects that he has had and still does have his hands in; however, it didn't take the reader deeper than a few key details in each aspect. I remember only seeing very few of Elon Musk's philosophies generalized by the author and no direct quotes from Elon himself.

It read like a high school research paper, as someone else described in the review and I could not agree more. At the end of it all, I still feel the desire to know more about Elon's philosophies and strategies when attacking the unachievable.

So this is the guy behind Paypal! wow! definitely did not know that and now I do.
It is a good book that gives a short version of the life of Elon Musk and it is well written so definitely recommend.
I found myself in search of an inspirational story and then this came, definitely inspirational and now I will go stalk the internet for more information about Musk as I am sure there is.
Sometimes we need a little inspiration that the small thins we do can get us to the top and I learned this from this book!
