Rescued by Love is the fourth book in the Ryder series and the forty second book in the Love in Bloom series by Melissa Foster.

Rescued by Love picked up during the wedding reception of Duke and Gabriella, where Trish and Boone's book, Chased by Love, ended. It then went straight into Trish and Boone's short notice wedding.

Jake Ryder was insanely gorgeous, a thrill seeker, strong, sexy, fun loving, laid back, a natural heart breaker, confident and possessive.

Addison "Addy" Dahl was independent, strong, confident, witty, sensual, challenging and beautiful. Per Jake, Addy was a "petite, sassy brunette that looked like she should be treated like fine china but spoke as though she could hold her own in a biker bar."

I was totally in love with Jake. What's not to love about all that sexy confidence wrapped in one man. And I loved that he called Addy sexy girl. I was in like with Addy. I loved her confidence and snarky attitude, but I wasn't in love with her aloofness and unreasonable stubbornness.

Rescued by Love was told in a dual POV, was well written and well developed. Foster set the stage in the first few chapters well, adding insight, primarily from Jake's perspective, so we knew what to expect as the foundation of their relationship and anticipated direction.

Jake and Addy had been dancing around each other for months. Jake pushing to sleep with her, and Addy pushing Jake away. Addy was Gabriella's best friend and Jake was Duke's brother, so neither wanted to mess with family. The anticipation was built so high that they exploded when they finally agreed to "a one night stand." I loved that although Jake struggled with the intensity of his feelings that he was man enough to embrace it and go all Alpha until he got the ultimate prize, Addy's heart. Addy wasn't so quick to agree and Foster then began to unravel the many layers of Addy, providing depth and dimension to the storyline.

True to Foster's style, we were graced with the full Ryder and Stryker clans as the supporting cast of characters, which provided additional depth to the storyline. We'll have one more Ryder story, Gage and Sally in Swept Into Love, then hopefully we'll see some Stryker books on the horizon as well.

It should be noted that I HATE that I have not been able to go back to the beginning of the entire Love in Bloom series and catch up! Because I really REALLY enjoy Melissa Foster's style. There really should be more hours in the day!!

Okay, so these kids thought that a one and done was gonna cut it ... bwaaahahahahhahahha :) Let the games begin :)

Addison Dahl has something to prove, but only to herself. She is all consumed with it. She thinks going off into the wilderness all on her own on a hike is how she's gonna find her missing piece *blink blink* lol I haven't read a character this stubborn in a long time, and it made me laugh. But of course our hero, Jake Ryder, is a professional search and rescue man so ........

You guys, seriously, this story is love! No pun intended! These two were so perfect for each other it was ridic. I can't really go into a play by play because that's the entire fun of the story itself but believe me, you're gonna love this story! Melissa has a way of making her characters so real and relatable and likeable. Addison was borderline childish with her stubbornness at times, but you still love her and want to hug her! And don't get me started on Jake! **swoon** Sigh ... just read the book. Read ALL the books!

RESCUED BY LOVE is the fourth book in The Ryders series and this book features Addison West and Jake Ryder. Addison is a fabulous fashion designer who is looking to pursue a new path so in an effort to find herself, she goes against her father’s wishes and dives into the wilderness.

As a rescue professional, Jake receives a call from his sister-in-law and learns that her best friend is missing. Of course he wants to help but when he goes searching for Addision, he soon realizes that she isn’t lost at all. The chemistry between these two is very evident in the pages. What I enjoyed about this book is the fact that each Melissa Foster book is so different from the others. Not to mention that the premise of the books aren’t ones I see to often. As someone who has read over 2000 books, that’s really saying something. So I really like how Foster is able to reinvent herself time after time with each new installment.

You can definitely read this story as a standalone. However, previous characters in this series do make appearances throughout so just keep than in mind if you decide to start with this book. I would highly suggest this book to any Contemporary Romance fans out there who like a little bit of adventure with their stories. The Ryders is a great family-oriented series that only seems to be getting better with each book. I look forward to reading the next one.

Writing this review proved a difficult task. Why? After reading Chased by Love, which I loved, I was looking forward to reading Rescued by Love so much so, that I chose to read on the weekend when I would have little or no interruptions. I wanted to savour every moment, but unfortunately, things did not go as planned.
I had a difficult time getting into the story, which is a first for me where the author is concerned. The story was slow to the point that it felt like it was not going anywhere. It was not until about the last 30% that the story picked up.

Developing a connection with the main characters was difficult. Addison had an unhappy childhood even though she lived a privileged life. As an adult, she was determined to prove that she was able to survive without her trust fund. She considered love to be over-rated and denied that she needed it in her life. To prove her theory, she never slept with the same man more than once. Personally, I believed her actions reeked of self-loathing. Initially, I understood her need to be independent, but after some time her actions became frustrating. She refused to accept help when offered for fear it may rob her of her independence. Seriously! That only highlighted her insecurities and her selfishness.

I was not sure what to make of Jake. It was evident that he was a hot, sexy, alpha male with a stubborn streak a mile long, but that was as far as it went. His backstory was severely lacking, which made him an unmemorable character.

The romance did nothing for me. Addison spent most of the time that they were together, denying her feelings. They got involved with each other without knowing much about one another. Their connection was more sexual than emotional.
I enjoyed the connection between family and friends, which was the author’s trademark. I never tire of reading about the bonds of family and friendships.

Verdict:
Did I enjoy this installment? : Somewhat.
Would I continue the series? : Most definitely.
Would I recommend this title? Yes! Not every reader has the same taste, and what I find to be mediocre, may be top notch for someone else.
This story was my least favourite of the series.

This was another great story by Ms. Foster. The characters Addy and Jake have to work toward their HEA as they battle trust issues, control issues, insecurities, their lust for each other as well as their pasts. The plot of this story was fast moving but not too fast making this book hard to put down. I enjoyed the return of some of the characters of the previous books as the start of this book was at Duke and Gabriella's wedding with Boone and Trish's wedding to follow. I also enjoyed how family centered it was as with all of Ms. Foster's other books. As usual, I loved that despite the epic hot sex the characters were having the moment when they realize that despite not trying, they fell in love with the other. Addy fought this the hardest but I enjoyed watching her eye opening moment. I like how the characters reflected inside themselves to get to their HEA. Overall, this was a great story with a lot of self discovery for Jake and Addy as Jake learned that he could not charge in all of the time and Addy learned to trust. I, like the other books in this series would recommend it to others!

I listened to the audio version of this book. I have listened to MANY of Melissa Foster's books. I found myself having a surprisingly difficult time getting into this book. I'm still not sure why. Addy was a pretty strong character who was determined to do things on her own, in her business and when she took off on a hiking trip by herself. Jake was definitely an alpha who wanted to protect her, but was smart enough to step back when her independence came to light. He is a rescue professional, so that was a hard thing for him to deal with, but he did it for her sake. That should have made me fall in love with him--I love strong, protective heroes.
I would have liked more conflict in the story and maybe some strong subplots. I still really can't say why I didn't connect to this story, but I just didn't. I also think maybe there have been so many narrated by B.J. Harrison, that they all sound exactly the same at this point.

Wow. Just blown away by this book. Melissa Foster is one of my favourite contemporary adult romance writers and this book did not disappoint. One of my favourite in the series and can be read as a standalone.
The passion and raw emotion shown by Jake is off the scale! Nice to read about a vulnerable male unafraid to show his feelings. The relationship between Addy and Jake is intense and amazing.
The only reason I give it 4.5 stars out of 5 is that, whilst I loved reading this, it is not a memorable book with deep substance.

Melissa Foster is just a fantastic writer! I don’t think she has written a story that I haven’t loved yet. Rescued by Love (Book 4 in The Ryders series). Foster writes in a way that even though these books are a part of a series, they can be read as a standalone, without any confusion.

It seemed as if there was more self discovery in this book than others. And I just loved that. I enjoyed watching their “Aha moments” and seeing them reflect upon their lives/relationship more. I loved reading about Jake, the playboy of the family. There was so much sexual tension and banter. It really seemed like the wedding weekend was a long time in the making.

I just adore Foster’s writing. She creates these wonderfully intense and compassionate heroes and heroines. You can feel how deeply and passionately these characters feel for each other… no matter how hard they fight it. The characters are all people you can relate to and understand. Foster sure knows romance!!!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Addison West (Addy) is the daughter of a huge faahion designer. Jake Ryder is a top search and rescue professional. They both know each other cause Addy is best friends with Gabriella who is marrying Duke who is Jakes' brother. They have met numerous of times here and there. They have this amazing and hot flirtation going on. They have never taken it to far. At Duke and Gabriella's wedding on the island they finally give in to their passion and let me tell you it is hot with a capital H. They both agree to just one night. In the morning they wake up in the beach and they act like no big deal except Jake wants more. More than one night. They are both the type of hooking up and leaving. No relationships. Addy has yet to meet anyone who can hold her interest period. Including in the sex department. Until Jake that is. I loved their little special moments and how they both finally fins the love they bothe deserve. This is a must read by Melissa Foster. You will not be disappointed.

Can you say Hot, Hot, Hot!!!!! That is what you will experience when you read this book.
Jake and Addie have been flirting ever since they met at a get together with his siblings. His brother was getting married to Addie's best friend. He had tried to serve himself up on a silver platter for her, but she would not give in. That is until the night of his brother's wedding.
Jake is a playboy, but his is fierce and loyal to the ones that matter. His heart is his family and search and rescue, that is until the night he met the sexy, smart-mouthed Addie. After he met her he could not be with another woman. She intrigued him too much for him to get with another woman. He wanted her more than he knew and every time they were near each other she set his body on fire.
Addie grew up having her father do everything for her and her mother. He made all of the decisions and she hated it. Her grandmother told her about her first marriage and how much they were in love, and she made Addie promise on her death-bed that she would not settle for anything but her storm. When Addie finished college she refused her trust fund and went against her parents and did everything on her own. She didn't want anyone to tell her how to live and what to do. After he met Jake she fought with everything she had to not go to bed with him. She knew he would be her undoing and she could not have that in her life.
The night of Duke and Gabriella's wedding Jake made a play for Addie. He wanted her in the worst way and was tired of her turning away. They all sat around the table and was playing a drinking game and everyone left except for Jake and Addie. They talked for a while then things turned hot. They woke up the next morning on the ground not to far from where they had started. She was mortified of the fact that Gabriella's family might have seen her. She had told him it was only going to be a one night stand to get the wanting out of their system. Boy had she been wrong.
During the rest of their time on the island they spent just as much time under each other than they did with other people. Things got very hot between them. She was about to go on a ten-day camping/hiking trip in the mountains by herself. He wanted her to stay or to let him go with her but she was stubborn and independent. Jake tried everything he could to get her to change her mind but she refused. She was going on this trip to find herself or that piece that was missing that she didn't know about.
Now, I am going to stop right there so you don't know the whole story, but she does go on the trip by herself as you see in the description of the book, but when no one can get a hold of her for a couple of days, what happens? That is what I want you to read and find out for yourself.
Also, does she do the whole ten days by herself or does she leave early?
Do her and Jake quit fighting their feelings and finally give in?
Those are things for you to find out for yourself. You will laugh a lot in this book and you will get all hot and bothered with all of the steamy sex. I really hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Would love to hear from you
Until Next Time: Happy Reading.

REVIEW: RESCUED BY LOVE is the fourth installment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult THE RYDERS erotic, romance series that is part of Melissa’s Love in Bloom series. This is former Park Ranger, and Search and Rescue operative Jake Ryder, and paralegal Addison “Addy” Dahl’s story line. RESCUED BY LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although a large number of secondary and supporting characters cross over from several of Melissa’s other series.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Addy and Jake) RESCUED BY LOVE focuses on the building romance between Jake Ryder and the reluctant Addison Dahl. For months Addy Dahl has pushed aside all of Jake Ryder’s attempts at seduction and romance until her best friend Gabriella’s wedding on Elpitha Island. Jake’s presence and his persistence pay off when Addy agrees to a one night stand that turns into something more. What ensues is the building relationship between Addy and Jake that meets a mountain of a roadblock when Addy’s embarks on a personal journey of freedom and independence.

RESCUED BY LOVE is a story of romance, heartbreak, adventure and a happily ever after. Jake Ryder has lusted after our story line heroine for months but Addy struggles to keep the man that calls to her heart, at a distance. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic without the use of sexually graphic language and text.

Melissa Foster’s RESCUED BY LOVE is a wonderful and breathtaking tale of fated lovers; another Ryder sibling falls in love and looks forward to his happily ever after with the woman that calls to his soul. The premise is romantic and passionate; the characters are spirited and realistic; the romance is beautiful and intoxicating.

This is not my first rodeo with Melissa Foster, and it’s not my second either. Every time I read one of her books, one question keeps popping up in my head.

How does Melissa Foster’s head look like, from the inside?

I have a couple of suggestions to that question.

In her head, there’s the most beautiful field filled with flowers of all different kind of colors.

Or, her head is filled with characters. She has several villages filled with all sorts of characters.

I actually like both scenarios a lot.

description

One thing I know for sure is that Mrs. Foster has the ability to get those characters, living somewhere in her brain, into her books in the most enchanting way.

Rescued By Love is no exception. It has a wide variety of sexy, hot and sweet men and women and I was sucked into the friendship and love between the characters right from the beginning.

Addy and Jake have known each other for a while. She is best friends with Jake’s newly sister-in-law. The chemistry is sizzling hot between them, but they are both trying to fight the attraction because they don’t want to jeopardize their growing friendship or find themselves in an awkward situation afterward. None of them is looking for a relationship. However, every self-imposed rule dissolves themselves when they start kissing on the dancefloor at a wedding.

Jake, who is a search and rescue expert, is just an absolutely sweetheart. He is kind of a gentle understanding caveman, and the combination is absolutely adorable. He gives in to his feelings to Addy quite fast, and that just makes me love him even more.

Addy is sexy and confident. She has a huge urge to prove to herself and others that she is a strong and independent woman and I fully understands that, but she just seems to protests too much. It’s like she’s got tunnel vision and can’t see anything else, but her need to be independent. In her quest to prove herself she gives up a bit of a childish vibe and that makes me love Jake and his patience even more.

Addy and Jake are smoking hot together, and the sex scenes leave me panting and weak in my knees. I love how Mrs. Foster makes very scene unique, and there is never a dull moment.

description

Normally I’m not the weaving type, and I always feel confident in my rating, but this time I find myself between two chairs and don’t know which one to sit on. After several hours of self-debating, I have concluded that I have to sit down right between the two chairs and rate Rescued By Love 4.5 stars.

Mrs. Foster’s writing is as always flawless, and she is such a gifted writer. The way she builds her characters just gets to me every time. Whenever I finish one of her books, I swear my heart is left a little bit softer. If I keep this up, I’ll end up with candy-floss where my heart used to be.

Thanks to the author and Beck Valley Book Tours for this heart melting advanced copy.

Rescued by Love is Foster’s 4th book in her Ryders series, the 42nd book in her Love in Bloom universe which now exceeds 100 books and novellas. This book is the story of Jake Ryder and Addison (Addy) Dahl. Maybe it’s a generation thing but I struggle early on to warm to characters whenever a lead character male of female treat sex as if it’s nothing more significant than scratching an itch. In this story both Jake and Addy are practitioners of the “hit it and quit it” school of casual sex. They’d need a spreadsheet to keep track of all of their one-night hook ups. Neither has ever felt more than sexual desire for those they’ve been intimate with. I liked the fact that in this book when these two finally got their heads on straight and accepted the pull between them was more than sexual their sexual histories caused some problems in their relationship causing them both to look back on their bed hopping ways with some regret and embarrassment.
Until Addy, Jake has been a horn dog taking advantage of having hit the genetic lottery with a face and body that has women throwing themselves at him. When he’s not searching for his next one-night conquest to blow off some steam he’s one of the top search and rescue experts in the country. Just going by the title you can predict he’ll be using those rescue skills to save Addy who insists on going off alone into the wilds of Upstate N.Y. on a ten day hike of self-discovery to prove her independence or find herself or something. Granted the Adirondack forests of Upstate N.Y. are not the Rockies or the jungles of South America but there are still plenty of opportunities there for an inexperienced camper to get themselves into trouble. And no one is a less experienced camper than Addison Dahl. Now here’s something else that didn’t quite make sense to me. When Addy questions Jake about what he does for a living when he’s not volunteering his time to find lost campers he tells her about an app he and his college buddy developed to help SAR teams which nets him a nice living so he doesn’t need his trust fund. My problem is, if this app helps SAR teams help find lost campers and hikers wouldn’t Jake and his partner have given the app. away, not gotten rich off of it?
Addy is smart, beautiful, highly sexual and has a mouth like a trucker. Addy’s issues run much deeper than Jake’s desire to sew his wild oats. She was told by her maternal grandmother how after her first husband the love of her life was killed in the war, she had allowed her second husband to subdue her independent spirit in order to give her daughter (Addy’s mother) a good life. Addy watched her own mother live a pampered life in a gilded cage in a seemingly loveless marriage where she has no accomplishments of her own to define her as a person and her father makes all the major decisions for both of them. So Addy equates being in a relationship as losing her independence. She’s also never met a man who could keep up with her mentally or sexually. Actually for all the casual sex she’s had it sounds like she’d never been with a man who really satisfied her sexually. Until Jake Ryder that is. I found it interesting that as much as Foster has built up Addy to be this sexually adventurous temptress, when she and Jake start having sex we discover there are a whole lot things she hasn’t done before that are only slightly kinky. i suspect even if she didn't realize it Addy was using sex to try and fil an empty spot in her life as much as for the physical pleasure.
Jake as one of the Ryder siblings has been a minor secondary character since the start of the series as the always cocky, smirking younger brother. Addy was introduced in the second book Claimed by Love as Gabriella’s BFF, legal assistant and sexual guru. As the story opens everyone is on the island of Elpathia for Duke and Gabriella’s wedding. Jake and Addy have been flirting and verbally sparring for months. Addy is attracted to Jake but is afraid she will ruin her relationship with her best friend and boss Gabriella and the rest of the Ryders who have become like family to her, if she hooks up with Jake who is now Gabriella’s brother-in-law. Jake being a notorious hit and run artist in his own right, this part of the story doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me because it’s not like anybody thinks Addy will break Jake’s heart or ruin her own reputation by having sex with him. Jake watching Gabriella’s brother Nico put the moves on Addy decides he’s had enough of this cat and mouse game they’ve been playing for months. He increases the pressure on Addy to have the hook up he knows they both want. After months of resisting Jake’s come-ons and having imbibed in a few too much tequila she gives in to her body’s desires and has a passionate night of sex with Jake after he agrees its just a one-time thing so they can fuck each other out of their systems without any next day awkwardness. But one night only causes both of them to want more and to get the inkling that the pull between them is about more than a physical attraction. These unfamiliar emotions scare the crap out of both of them. At first they both try to tell themselves those unfamiliar feelings are just pent up lust. Jake is the first to accept that he wants more than sex from Addy and makes it his mission to get the always stubborn Addy to admit there’s something more than sexual chemistry between them.. Addy eventually admits to herself and Jake that her feelings for him run deeper than lust and they frighten her. She continues to insist she has to go on this ten day wilderness trip and she has to go alone despite almost everyone telling her it’s a bad idea.
Honestly I thought this story got a bit slow and boring once Addy heads into the Silver Mountains on her camping trip of self-discovery. Even though she has only one battery for her cellphone and no way to recharge it, she seemed to spend an awful lot of time each day texting and talking to Jake saying such deep and nonsensical things like “how can I listen to you until I learn to listen to myself?” Or, “if you keep trying to give me advice before I’m ready to listen you’ll just push me away.” I will admit Foster did a nice job of describing the trials and tribulations as well as the joys of being a novice camper in the wilderness. Of course there alone on the mountain Addy has her “Ah Ha!” moment.
I didn’t dislike the Addy character. I just couldn’t understand why Jake was so smitten with her beyond her smart sexy mouth and seemingly insatiable sex drive? She was foolishly, childishly stubborn and reflexively contrary at times. Most of the time. For a smart woman who had been on her own since starting college she seemed have an awful lot of unanswered questions about who she is and what she wants at almost 30 years old. She seemed to have only two states of being contrary or horny and sometimes both at the same time. Sexual chemistry is wonderful but it can only take a relationship so far. Well they say there’s someone for everyone and Addy was Jake’s one and he was hers. I found the Jake character much more enjoyable which is saying something for me since I'm a hetero-sexual guy who usually is more invested in the heroines. Once Jake accepts his feelings for Addy he becomes a man who sets out to win the heart of and support the frustrating object of his affections. I felt this was a good book but not one of Melissa's best efforts or even the best of this series. But that's just my opinion. I'm certain others will find it worthy of 5 stars..

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

4.5* of sexy fun romance.

This is the fourth in this particular series - although there are characters that cross over from most of Ms Foster's wonderful stories. Do read the Ryder books in order, as they keep us up to date with previous romances, weddings et al.

The Ryder children have all been falling in love and giving us wonderful stories each time - but Jake has been very resistant to any such thing. He felt he had found a twin soul in Gaby's friend Addi, as she too has a reputation as a player, not wanting to settle down. In her case it is in order to rebel from a very controlling father who is also rich and famous. As she has experienced her mother always towing his line, she has a very strong dislike of anyone telling her what to do. But even thought Addi and Jake have avoided testing the idea that they could have a fling, in fact both of them are somewhat obsessed with each other.

Finally at Gaby and Duke's wedding Jake makes his move - he cannot bear other men dancing with her, and finally gives in to those feelings of jealousy that can no longer be ignored. Addi has also been thinking too much about him to resist, and everyone (as they had all read their interactions correctly) is very relaxed about the possibility of them being a couple. I loved how it was so beautifully done, the understated way that it is accepted, and some lovely teasing from the men and the women. However Addi still feels the importance of not being weakened by letting Jake make decisions for her, so she proceeds to take a solo camping trip - where finally she may learn the difference between her father's behaviour and what a true partner will do. This was done very cleverly, and I loved the whole camping trip for the laughs that it provided - Ms Foster is so versatile with her writing; the comedic timing was perfection.

So this story gives us another lovely chance to spend time with the Ryder family, their loves and lives. Here we learn quite a lot about why Jake does what he does, and that he has some rather desirable geek tendencies. And get some hints as to who will be next, and how much fun the family will have in helping it happen. Cannot wait!

Addison Dahl is a talented fashion designer that has been feeling a bit lost lately, so she's searching for a new path to pursue. At this point in her life, her best friend, Gabriella's wedding on Elpitha Island couldn't have come at a better time. Addy's going to have a weekend of fun in the sun, before she goes off by herself into the wilderness to find herself, while roughing it. And while she's not in the market for a relationship, Gabriella's brother-in-law, Jake, leave her thoughts, or late night fantasies. Jake Ryder is a top search and rescue professional, who enjoys many women, but none for more than a few hours of fun. However, there's one woman he wants for more than few fun filled hours, and he's spent months trying to get Addy into his bed for a night, as he's sure that it will lead to more. He finally gets his wish at the wedding, as their heat ignites, but when the weekend is over, will he be able to make Addy his?

Another fantastic story by Melissa Foster! There's not one thing that I didn't love about this book, even with the frustrating flaws of the characters. I'm not going to lie, Addy's extreme stubbornness made me yell out loud a few times, as I wanted to choke her out. But life is full of people with flaws, so it made the story more realistic. I love the colorful cast of secondaries, especially since they are part of this series, so I really feel more invested with every book. Smoldering heat between Addy and Jake tried to melt my kindle, and when it raged out of control. well it was some serious steamy sexy scene goodness that will melt knickers. Melissa Foster's brilliant writing style always captures my attention 100%, and I believe without a shadow of a doubt, that I'll NEVER EVER get enough! Her well placed humor of the sassy, and snarky characters keep me laughing hard, on top of the angst levels that make my eyes well up a bit. The added in twists make that loud f-bomb parade take off at lightening speed, as they came out of left field. I will forever be a fan of this amazing author, be impatiently waiting for the next new story, and finally, HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rescued By Love!

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Jake has been the Ryder family playboy but with his siblings getting married and having babies he might almost be grown up enough for a relationship of his own. When an ongoing flirtation with Addy becomes more intense than he anticipated, he doesn’t know what to do. And while Addy loves sex and enjoys hook-ups, she might be even more afraid of relationships than Jake is.

I appreciated a romance where the heroine is unabashedly sexual and happily non-monogamous without judgement and I liked the balance between these two characters. Abby’s need for independence was refreshing but I did find her stubbornness annoying after a while. Jake felt a little bit underdeveloped here. We know he is hot, cheeky and a bit of a player but there isn’t much else terribly memorable about him. There is some great banter between Addy and Jake and some sweet family moments.

With neither main character rich or famous, this story has a different feel to it than earlier books in the series and I think I preferred the more normal characters in this story.

There is something about the sex in this series that really doesn’t work for me. In this one, there is lots of talk about how kinky and extreme both Addy and Jake like their sex but the scenes that follow are quite vanilla. The sexual description is at times more giggle inducing than sensual. Jake’s “very hungry python” had me in fits.

I’ve been ambivalent about this series from the start. The series concept of a family of brothers married off one by one has been done way too many times before. Nora Roberts has done it sweeter, Nicole Edwards’ version was sexier and JR Ward added paranormal adventure to her series. This series borrows the concept without offering a new angle.

This story has its moments, but I’m not sure I’ll remember reading it a month from now.

I'm deeply in love with all the Ryders! I mean it! Every single one!

Jake Ryder is a SAR professional, he's committed to his job because there's nothing more he loves than being outdoors, he's also, like all the Ryders brothers, a gorgeous alpha male who has been lusting after Addy, his sister in law's best friend, for months. Even though, he's been relentless pursuing and charming her, Addy's still resisting the chemistry between them and that's driving him crazy.
Addy is a stubborn independent woman, she's the queen of one night stands and she's perfectly happy in her skin. But then she meets Jake, she knows she can't give in to their mutual attraction because Jake is her best friend's brother in law and they keep running into each other. Jake is off limits, even if he's trying so damn hard to drive her crazy.
At Duke and Gabriella's wedding, hot steamy looks, tequila and a little bit if jealousy finally tear down Addy's resistance but after one night, Addy can't keep Jake out of her mind. And Jake, after finally having Addy where he wants her, realizes that he's in for the fight of his life.

Jake and Addy are two of a kind, really perfect to each other and I couldn't stop reading their story. It was so intense that I just couldn't put my e-reader down! The banter, the flirting, the chemistry between them was absolutely incredible. I loved Jake so much, he's the perfect mix of sweet, alpha, protective, romantic and sexy. I also loved all the Ryder family moments (especially Cash & Sienna and Trish & Boone because they are still my 2 top favorite couples in this series).

Rescued by Love can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the complete series. Melissa Foster delivered another perfectly balanced hot, steamy, emotional romance. I literally can't wait for Gage's book!

Let me just say that Jake and Addy are one of the hottest couples Melissa has ever written. These two are super charged, magnetic, frickin' hot hot hot!

Both Jake and Addy are of the adage... One and Done. Neither of them has a need or want for a relationship and after months of flirting and teasing the two hook up at Jake's sister's wedding. The only thing is that they never expected it to feel so different from the rest. Jake is immediately taken by Addy, but Addy is on a mission to prove that she doesn't need the type of love her grandmother and mother had to be happy. She tries to fight Jake at every corner, lying to herself about the connection that the two of them share. She's an independent woman and she doesn't need a man to take care of her and tell her what she should do. Jake isn't that type of man, and so he's on a mission to show Addy that they can be in a relationship without all the rules. She can be his and still be independent and strong... the very things that turn him on.

The push and pull between these two has you ping ponging like you're at a tennis match. The both try to fight the connection at first. Both are stubborn, bullheaded and passionate about their lives and the people in them. The sultry pair start to give in to all the deliciousness the fun begins! But can two people who are so a like, work together?

Even though Rescued by Love is part of a huge interconnected series, it can be read as a standalone. If you haven't started this series, it really is a must read. Melissa Foster's books are my guilty pleasure that I have no qualms about stopping whatever I'm doing to pick up her next read. And unlike most series, Melissa give a fresh new twist with each and every book while keeping you entertained with the characters you've grown to love from previous books - never having to truly let them go. Another fantastic read from Melissa

Well as usual Melissa Foster has stuffed so much goodness into one book it makes you just want to squeeze the stuffing right out of it! I loved this book and I adored Jake & Addy!!
They may just be one of her hottest couples yet and believe me that is saying a lot, because all of her couples are seriously hot together! Speaking of hot, is there a Ryder brother who isn't hot? I think not.
Jake Ryder is extremely protective and a shameless flirt. He is as gorgeous as he is alpha and Addy is as beautiful, independent and stubborn as the day is long. She can give back as good as she gets which is where the attraction originates. It would seem like that was a recipe for disaster but in fact quite the opposite! These two are quite a pair and very evenly matched in many ways. Their banter was as hot as their sexy times!
They were fun, flirty and sexy; a great trifecta in a romance book!
One of my favorite lines from Addy is, "I'm the thunder to your lightning" I just love that line.
One of my favorite lines from Jake and it pretty much speaks to the tone of this story is, " When you're scared, ornery, flirty, and even when you need a smack on that incredible ass of yours, I get you, Addy, and I always will."
Awesome story, fantastic series. If you love romance that feels real, Melissa Foster is your girl!

I may be a bit bias. . .

I love these books. I love the Ryders. And I have come to love the overall series Love in Bloom. I get myself a family of those that embrace love and live life to the fullest in some form or fashion. Whether it be love of life, friends, family, having a good time. This family knows how to do it right. This time around I get to see how Jake takes on falling in love. He was determined to get Addy. Once he had her, one night was not enough for him. How was he to convince this free-spirited, stubborn, independent woman that she was meant for him?

Thinking one and done was a false concept for Jake. Addy knew the chemistry was more than she wanted to tackle. But the wedding, alcohol, and a bit of jealousy made for a heady combination and the resistance was down on all sides. With that deed done and the chemistry still burning hot Addy did what she had to do to save herself, but thoughts of Jake went with her everywhere she did. Jake was determined to show this woman that she was his.

I had no doubts in my mind that I was going to get myself a steamy, hot, emotionally charged romance. That would make me grow deeper in love with the Ryder family. This family when they fall in love. They fall hard. Melissa Foster put out another beautiful showing. Exquisite addition to the Ryders series and the Love in Bloom series.

I loved this book, it's full of humor and passion, the chemistry between the two protagonists is really strong and the setting is amazing,
Addison is the daughter of a famous fashion designer, a possessive father that left no freedom of choice to her and her mother. She is very independent and doesn't want to get married for fear of repeating the mistakes of her parents. She needs a very intriguing and intelligent man but she can't find anyone able to arouse her interest. The only able to succeed seems to be Jake but manages to defeat the desire to Addison's independence?
The characters are adorable and well developed. Jake is sexy and charming, he loves to protect and defend women and her family. He's very romantic even if doesn't like challenging stories but his feelings towards Addy are so overwhelming as to make him change his mind. It was great to see grow and chnge their love story.
It 's a very engaging story, I read the whole book in one sitting, I could not put it down.

Melissa Foster has done it again! This book is fantastic, funny and emotional. Both Jake and Addy are strong and stubborn. He just wants her and she just wants to show her independence and that she is strong enough to do things on her own and for herself. When they do come together Addy realizes that maybe it is not so bad to have someone like Jake there to be your partner in crime so to speak and to work as a team. The love scenes are so hot that they melt the pages and leave you yearning for more.

BJ Harrison narrates and as usual does a fantastic job. He always makes you feel like you are right in the thick of things. You get so drawn into the book that you don’t realize how much time has passed.

Jake Ryder and Addison Dahl sizzle the scene in Rescued by Love. With marriages set on the stunning island background Jake and Addy succumb to their mutual attraction.
This love story has attraction pleasures of the body and tugging of their souls. Every couple has a past which threatens and tests their capacity to sustain a relationship, Jake and Addy too face inner turmoil and beautifully overcome it. The teasing and flirting will have you all excited. The sex and kisses are toe curling and hot. Their need for each other, resisting and succumbing is like a sensual dance of sparkling fireworks. The storyline may be a tad predictable but the sensuality and sass makes up for it and the story left me feeling satisfied and a bit glowing.

Jake Ryder has always come across as a cocky, arrogant player...and maybe he was...until he met Addison 'Addy' Dahl. Then, all bets were off!
This is a sexy fun read, and it's great to see Jake turning himself inside out for a woman, as he's never been more than a love 'em and leave 'em type of guy. But Addy is also strong willed, and having a famous, controlling father, she is determined to make her own way in the world.
This books starts where Claimed by Love ends - at Duke and Gabby's wedding on the island of Elpitha, so we get to meet all the Ryders plus Boone's family.
Another great edition to the Love in Bloom series...long may it continue!

Addy and Jake are a mass of contradictions. On the surface you have people who are self assured and thrive on independence, yet the deeper you dig the bigger the mess. From trust issues to control issues, insecurities and a chasm of painful truths, falling in love is an uphill battle for these loners. Addy was a work in progress. Sort of a switch of roles. Addy was the objectifier and Jake the aggressor. She saw sex as a means to an end. Jake from the start seemed to be all in. Rescued by Love sets about breaking down barriers, which Ms. Foster is well versed in doing but the prize at the end of the journey is a narrative that is hard to forget.

Another favourite!

How does Melissa do it? Every book I love more than the last, actually that's only partly true as all her books are incredible.

The way she writes pulls you in to the characters lives from the start and makes you see not what is just on the surface of the character but deep down too.

I love this series so much for many reasons but reading about the characters we have already read about and seeing more of their story unfold is amazing.

I cannot wait for more and the fact its Gage's story next has me giddy, I have been waiting for his book since the Snow Sisters.

So excited for more, another 5* Melissa, well done!

This is another great book by Melissa Foster. Of course, I'll be 100% honest and say that there hasn't been a book by her that I haven't enjoyed! The banter, arguing and stuff going on between Addison and Jake was what made the book, I think! Along with their chemistry. Addison is a stubborn woman, and Jake is equally as stubborn, but will do almost anything for his "sexy girl". The sex scenes in this book are uber hot, as are Addison and Jake. He's super protective over her, even before they officially get together, which is super sweet of him, and she knows just how to push his buttons.

If you like contemporary romance then this is a book you are going to like! This is the fourth book in the Love in Bloom series, but it is also a great stand alone read. I love all Melissa Foster’s books. Jake and Addison who are loners which makes their falling in love quite a battle. Although it was a battle that I absolutely loved and felt it was what brought the book together. Another thing I really enjoyed in this book was the chemistry between Jake and Addison. My goodness were they hot together! I mean mega steam coming right off the pages HOT! I loved every single bit.

Rescued by Love is the fourth Ryders book in the much larger Love in Bloom series by Melissa Foster. Each book is a standalone story, so though the characters are connected you won't have any problems jumping in at any time. If you follow my reviews at all, you will know of my love for Melissa's books! I highly recommend absolutely anything with her name on it, and her newest, Rescued by Love is no exception.

Returning to Elpitha Island for her friend's wedding, Addison is looking for some fun before she heads out to rough it in the wilderness on her latest adventure. She keeps things casual when it comes to men, but lately she finds herself thinking way too much about her friend Jake Ryder who also happens to be the brother-in-law of her friend getting married. Jake has done casual, but he is ready for more and he wants it with Addy. He is sure that one night together is all he needs to show her they should be so much more, and what better time to have a sexy night together than the wedding that they will both be attending? But can Jake turn the weekend into more, or will Addy be tougher to convince than he thought?

I have been waiting for these two and I absolutely loved them! I had really hoped that Jake and Addy's story would be everything I had hoped for, and it was all that and more. Jake had all the qualities that I have come to love and expect from Melissa's heroes, he was sexy, loyal and a great guy to his core. A family man at heart, Jake definitely won me over and had me swooning. Addy was sassy and fun, and independent in a way that I can easily relate to. I loved that she was her own person and was so determined to do everything her way and live the life she chose. These two were super hot together, and I loved their chemistry. Watching them flirt and circle around each other was great, but I really loved seeing them grow closer and really get to know one another. They fit together perfectly, and I had such a great time reading their story!

Overall, this book was everything I have come to expect from Melissa Foster while giving us a fresh new story that fit perfectly in this series. I've said it before and will continue to say it, if you are a fan of contemporary romance you cannot go wrong with Melissa Foster! This series is one of my favorites, and I enjoy each new book as much as the last. The stories are always sexy, emotional, while being fun and sweet as well. They are so well rounded and written so well that you can't help but get lost and want to keep flipping the pages. I probably sound like a broken record, but I am a fan of Melissa's for life, and I can't wait for more!
