Tall, dark, and sexy as hell, Thorne Hollow knows the power he holds over the opposite sex and how to use it.

Cast out by the gods thousands of years ago, he roams the earth working as an assassin for The Sicarii, a secret society who protects humans from all of the things that go bump in the night.

Long ago, Thorne made the mistake of falling in love with a human, and her d

1.5 CONFUSING STARS

This is the first in a serial of a paranormal erotic thriller. The problem, at least for me, is that nothing happened that I cared about. I know that Thorne Hollow is the grandson of the God Theseus, therefore he's half a God. I know he's earthbound, sterile, and relegated to living his immortal life on earth. He works for the Sicarii, a secret supernatural society, which protects the human world. His wife died

Review of the series, all four parts/books. Original post on http://readingadd.blogspot.ro/

So, I have read the four parts and I kinda have mixed feelings about this story. Because sometimes was awesome and promising, other times was just sex, with capital letters, and other, other times was having some small/big flaws, for me.

I think it depends on what are you expecting of this book/series because if you see it like an erotica with someting aside is a thing or if you see it like something super

In this first book of this serial we meet Thorne Hallow. He is immortal, banished from the gods to roam the earth. Thorne is now a bad-ass assassin for Sicarii, as a member of this supernatural society his duties are to protect humans from all the creatures that may be lurking in the night.

Thorne is one sexy beast, he has nothing but time on his hands so he spends it by killing and f**king. Thorne had a bad experience with love and is not interested in that ever happening again, it still effects

This is the first book in a serial novel. I am starting to see more books written this way, where there are a bunch of short stories released one after another. Usually they end in a cliffhanger. I really like this because I love the anticipation of the next book.

Hired Gun packed a LOT into this first book. The book is only 43 pages long but I was really surprised when I looked that up as I sat down to write this review. It seemed a lot longer due to everything that was packed into it.

Thorne is an immortal and had lived for over two thousand years. He was the grandson of Theseus and his mother was a human. He had been banished to Earth by the Gods because of his disobedience. Thorne would spend all eternity tied to the Earth realm, never aging, without a family of his own all because he refused to leave his mother’s deathbed. First things first, this is the first book in a serial, so if those aren't your thing, you might wanna stay off of this. It's open ended. No real cliffhanger per say, but open ended enough to easily see there is more on the horizon.
I liked the concept of this story and also the paranormal outlook to it. I enjoyed the easy banter between characters and even the sexual scenes toward the end worked well and didn't cause me to start flipping pages to get past them. There were a lot of intriguing el

Hired Gun begins with us getting to know Thorne and what his life is like now, and what it was like long ago. He's a major alpha male who kills for the people he works for. After the Gods turned their back on him, he's stayed on Earth for several centuries just existing and going through the motions. Throne keeps most people at a distance, and knows after losing the one he loved the most not to let that get in the way ever again.

I think that I'm one of the few that love the idea of serials. I'm not ashamed to admit that I gravitate towards shorter books. If an author can pack a punch into a shorter story, then count me in. And that's exactly what A.J. Bennett has done with Hired Gun. It sets the tone as an amazing series opener. By the time I was finished, I was on the edge of my seat wanting more.

The way that the author introduces Thorne and his background definitely captured my interest from the start. I felt like

I was introduced to Thorne right off and felt really attracted to the character. I really did not like Thorne at first and felt his character was to macho and into himself. As the book went on and more was revealed about him I fell a little bit in love with him. During the book you meet Benny, and he was good to Robin to Thornes Batman. I could have gone without all the sex in the short book. It is not my thing, but even with all of that I

Since I can honestly say that I love A.J. Bennett as an author - I can also add that she does NOT disappoint you with this new serial!!! If it were only a little longer, it might be a little better. But still, this is definitely another one of those "I can't stop reading" type books.

In this first book of the serial, we get to meet Thorne - who is the main character. He is an assassin for hire who has supernatural powers. I don't write spoilers, (which would be really easy to do with this being a

This is the reason that serials are horrible. Why not just wait and release the whole book at once? 99% of the time the ratings will be better. Why? Because is very difficult to rate a story that is not finished. And here, we only have a couple opening scenes. I was hoping for more based on the blurb... but I didn't notice it was only 43 pages when I first picked it up either.

We meet Thorne, learn that he is a supernatural assassin, grandson of a God, with a penchant for one night stands. He wa

Thorne Hollow is a 2000 year old sniper. He was cursed to live forever. To watch everyone and everything he loved die. He can never father children. Life can get pretty dull. He takes his pleasure where he can find it. Namely. killing for hire. It is not that he needs the money, but he needs the challenge. Although lately, killing scumbags haven't become that much of a challenge. He can out smart any electronic device or human brain that comes along.

This was a very fast read. The characters were interesting giving it a different element o the story. Thorne a son of a god and he is immortal. The way he goes through life is by screwing women and leaving them before sunrise. No mess and no complications. He meets one woman who will not give him her name. Their chemistry is off the charts, but something happens to piss Thorne off. She is confused and thinks how did this happen and go wrong so fast. I am a little curious about what happens. First thing’s first. This is really short. Like REALLY short. It was also very intriguing though. I want more is basically what I am trying to say. It really set up what I am assuming is going to happen in the next serial. The characters were well established though. I am looking forward to what kind of trouble Thorne. I know it's part of a series but it was just too short lol Just as things were getting interesting, it ends.

Since I had liked Unintentionnal Virgin by the same author, even if Hired Gun is a paranormal romance, I wanted to read it. Although I found certain things nice, others are too typical, guessable, which is really too bad. Moreover, I did not really hang to the main character, which will pose more problems.

Thorne Hollow has everything that make a ladykiller: gorgeous as hell with a corrosive humour, virile, sure of himself and sensual, he does not leave indifferent the ladies. However I found hi

In "Hired Gun" by A.J. Bennett, the first book of a serial, we're introduced to Thorne Hollow, half human and half god. He's an assassin, working for The Sicarii, a secret society that protects the innocent from both, supernatural and humans.

I have to say it was a super quick read and personally I think it's really difficult to rate a book when it's so short. It only had around 100 pages and in my opinion it was way too short! T

Thorne is the protagonist—he's a bit of an antihero. After 2,000 yrs on earth—Thorne has lived through it all and not much surprises him. Thorne has chosen to live a solitary life—not wanting to form any (finite) mortal connections. Thorne knows the pain of loss very well. It has made him a wary, and sometimes caustic warrior. He lives for his work as an immortal assassin. He fills his days aiding his secret brotherhood of assassins— fighting to eliminate those who prey on the weak. He

Definitely off to a good start, but like all serials it is too short. Just when things are getting good, it's over.

In this installment we meet Thorne. Half human and half God, and assassin for hire. He enjoys what he does given he at least works for a group that protects the innocent from both humans and the supernatural that prey on them. And given his powers, and the help of his friend Benny, getting the job done is a piece of cake. When he isn't working, he's a man-whore. After losing everyo

Hired Gun is the first book in a serial series of four books. This book does end in a bit of a cliffhanger.

Let me start off with saying that while this book is about 43pages long, by the end of it I felt as though it was longer. The writing itself is done well and A.J. Bennett has crafted Thorne into an interesting character. Thorne is part God, immortal, sterile, and his favorite hobby is screwing a new girl every night.

With that being said, I was disappointed with this as the first book in th

This is a great short story that is fast paced and sexy. The main character Thorne is a hired gun who is immortal. Thorne is a man whore, alpha male that is pretty much a bad ass. Thorne was once married, but she died because she was a human. In comes Kataya and his world i turned upside down.

The story is short and to the point, but leaves you wanting more. It was well written and very enjoyable. I can't wait to see whats in store for Thorne.

Hired Gun is a paranormal thriller, with a whole lot of steam. Thorne is the grandson of a very well known hero in Greek mythology, but has been banished by the gods because of his blatant disregard for their rules. He’s not one to settle down and doesn’t look for lasting relationship ships, he’s very much a one-night stand sort of guy. This novella basically introduces us to Thorne, his past, and the way he navigates his world. I can’t say Thorne is my favorite type of guy. He’s sexy and he kno ...more

This is a short story and it was good. It was very straightforward though and I like a little more bump in my book. It seemed the MC was a little one dimensional but I liked him. His parnter was more appealing to me though because he showed more internal conflict when it came time to kill.

I loved the sex scenes, they were juicy and in good taste. Thorne is very mysterious though and
