I think I'm going to make it a rule to NEVER read a book that has a young moody, mysterious, billionaire with attitude problems as the male lead. And a spunky, sassy, female lead who loses her mind when she's around him because "OH EM GEE, HE IS LIKE, SO HOT!"

I mean, wtf??? I just wanted some straightforward smut.

He doesn't do vaginal sex cuz he got someone pregnant years ago.. dude.. fuck you. Grow the fuck up. Use a condom if the woman isn't on the pill! There's TONS of other things to do. Rather than emotionally and sexually manipulating a woman who firmly said NO to anal into having anal sex. WHAT.THE.FUCK?!

And that ending? Really? You're telling me this is going to be a romance after he's basically fucked up her career and everything? Needless to say, will NOT be continuing this series.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

...............................
...............................
...............................

Nope, I've got nothing. I'm contemplating creating a new bookshelf for Club Luxe. It will be called YOU-MAKE-ME-SICK.

It's disappointing, because the politics are great.

The problem is everything else. You see, our hero - though, frankly, I and any semi-sane person feel he makes a mockery of the word - is a total waste of space. Malcolm is an asshole in the wah wah wah I'm-such-a-tortured-poor-little-rich-boy-it's-not-my-fault sense. I'm hesitant to use the word rape here, because our heroine does eventually acquiesce, but he invests a lot of effort into manipulating Victoria into having anal sex with him and his monster cock*... even though she pretty vehemently expresses several times that she is NOT ok with that. When she challenges him, he threatens her not to push him because, to paraphrase, he knows plenty of people who'd be up for gang rape and she has no escape until the doors unlock in the morning.

But it's all ok because she enjoys it. Sort of. Except the excruciating pain and sense that she won't be able to sit down for a while. But that's not important because he has his reasons. What are his reasons? Well might you ask. He's afraid that she'll get pregnant accidentally-on-purpose and sue him for child support. Yep, our billionaire** is feeling a little anxious about his bank balance. Not surprising, really, given he evidently eats lobster and caviar at every meal like some ostentatious member of the nouveau riche.

It's amazing that he's made his billions actually considering he's evidently stupid enough to not have heard of condoms or realise that anal sex can still give you STIs. But don't let's forget, he's a sympathetic character. He donates the money made by his sex club to charity, like he's Mother Fucking Theresa. Except Mother Theresa was a crazy ass fanatic who believed that it was a good thing if her patients suffered.

If I wasn't aggravated enough by Malcolm's manipulation, he pulls some more out of the bag at the end of Club Luxe and this one's a corker. You see, he asks Victoria - just after the anal sex - to track down his daughter for him and refuses to listen when she expresses that she can't (implying that she's done something similar before and it ended badly). But rather than trying to woo a girl***, what does he do? He has Victoria's every bank account frozen and her put under some kind of criminal investigation. Of course, he'd be more than happy to help her with her little problem if she'd just help him with his...

YOU MAKE ME SICK MALCOLM. And you know what? We're clearly supposed to feel sorry for him because he's lost his daughter and he's all hurt, to which I can only say... IF THIS IS HOW YOU BEHAVE, SHE'S BETTER OFF WITHOUT YOU. Oh, and to top it all off, the series seems to be setting up for these two to fall madly in love because there are definite hints of instalove. How could you fall in love with such a dick? Seriously.

GAH.

*I don't get why romance novelists seem to think all women find that a turn on.
**There seem to be so many of these around these days that novelists will inevitably have to move on to trillionaires, because a man can't be a hero unless he's obscenely wealthy.
***And you'd think a self-made billionaire would be pretty good at schmoozing

ARC received via NetGalley

Being a book about a sex club, I was expecting it to be quite full on (public sex in the club happens but it doesn't go into too many details). The sex between the two main characters is what is focused on. It was as explicit as I was expecting it to be, however I wasn't disappointed with what we are given.

Even though it's about a sex club, there is sort of another story line as well- Victoria is a reporter, Malcolm wants her to help him. I thought this gave the book more substance.

This book ends with a cliff hanger, but I thought it was a great one. It left me very intrigued about what happens next.

Club Luxe was definitely an interesting read. I wasn’t really sure what I was expecting when I started this book other than another billionaire falling in love. I didn’t get that. This novella went way past anything that I thought I was going to get from this book.

When you read Club Luxe we get a heroine who is confident, funny, and strong. She doesn’t let people push her around or forget her reasons for being at the Club. Until she meets the King of Kink. Malcolm knows who she is immediately. He has secrets and he is kind of a bastard. You never really know if he cares about her or just wants to use her for his own plans.

The story was well written and kept me turning the pages. I really liked Victoria and her friend but I am still on the fence about Malcolm. He ruthless and dangerous and I can’t decide if he has a good side yet. I really liked this series and can’t wait for more of their story.

**I received a review copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**

This was an enjoyable short read. It was the first installment in a serial so I wasn't expecting much but I really liked it. I read it in an hour and it was a fun distraction.

I liked Malcolm, at the club he was all alpha male, dominant and charming. Afterwards he morphed into ruthless businessman, I liked that we got to see both sides of him in the first installment. It's ironic that he's known as the king of kink while his scenes were pretty vanilla. Still, hopefully the bedroom scenes will actually be kinky in later books in the series. I enjoyed his backstory too, he has a tortured bad boy thing going for him.

I'm not sure about Victoria. She was assertive and confident but I'm not sure if I like her yet. Again it's only the first book so I might grow to love her.

What an uprising reporter, Victoria Chase wanted is to get the big story to launch her career further. When she was given an anonymous tip on a underground limited sex club where all the riches spend their free time, all she wanted was to get in and scoop herself a story.

Getting more that she expected, she met the King of the Kink, Malcolm Cage, the young billionaire who owned the club, the one that she's been haunting for an interview. Malcolm, on the other hand, saw an opportunity in Victoria and intend to use her to achieve his goal.

The story was fast and really well written. The character was well developed and easy to understand, but with normal character cliche. The book was short though, I just can't get enough.

Don't bother to waste your time

First I'm not interested in proselytizing on the author's political views when I read. This is not a novel or a novella,it's a serial. Will not bother with the rest of the serial. The lead male is a jerk and female is just pathetic

Club Luxe: Book 1 The Private Room is the first book in the Billionaires Underground Series. This is the first book I have read by this author, I was give this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes....

This book knocked my socks off!!!!

It’s a short nugget of absolute filth and I loved it!

This story is so much more than your average sex club kinkfest book; it’s full of intrigue and undercurrents that at the moment the reader doesn’t fully understand.

Victoria seems like a proper little firecracker and she takes on the king no questions asked, I loved her attitude and devil may care persona. I can feel that there is a much more insecure girl hidden behind the bravado and I will be interested to find out more about her.

Long live the king! Malcolm is a real enigma, we don’t know much about him yet but I get the impression that he is a really dangerous man!! I genuinely had no idea what he was going to say or do next and I loved that everything was an element of surprise with him.

This book is a fair bit steamy and the anal bits might be a bit much for some, personally I thought the sex was sexy as hell and I was squirming in my seat!

I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen in the next book but I’m dying to know, I was absolutely gutted when this book finished.

For me the sign of a good start to a book series is when it leaves you wanting more and I want more!!! I’m seriously questioning hitting up the author and begging for a copy of the second book Club Luxe 2: Secrets Exposed which is due to release in Oct 2014.

This book is so full of intrigue, who is Malcolm? what happened to his daughter?, why is Victoria reluctant to help? Why did he steal her life? And seriously what the hell did Dominic put in Chloe’s drink to turn her from shy girl to sex club goddess having a gang bang with THREE men lol.

I loved this book I was completely enthralled from start to finish 4.5 stars!

I received a copy from Xpresso Book Tours for an honest review

It’s really hard for me to review this because I have mixed feelings about the book. I’ll lay it out PROs and CONs style…

PRO:
– Super talented author based on her storytelling in this book. The story is deeply interesting. I want to like and hate Malcolm at the same time.
– Victoria. She is really tough and for the most part doesn’t back down. (We’ll discuss the times she does in the CONs)
– Chloe. Her sex scene was a pretty big comic relief for me and I thought it balanced out the super heavy romantic tone of the book up until that point.
– Not very long but had a big impact.
– That ending!

CON:
– How much erotica was in the book compared to actual story. This is my own fault and I’m not actually using this for my rating. I haven’t read many books that are this hot and heavy. I just wasn’t expecting that much. I didn’t really know what I was getting into.
– The instant love factor. No one calls it love, instead they call it “feelings” but we all know it’s love.
– The instant love factor despite how Malcolm is a total jerk to her at times.
– Victoria begging for sexual favors from him. She’s a wonder woman when it comes to getting the hard hitting truths but she feels weak in front of him and has to beg to get what she wants? I don’t buy it.
– Some quotes like: “What girl doesn’t love it when a strong man pushes her around a little?” She said with a slight blush.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I would really like to have read this if it wasn’t as full of sex as it is (I know. That’s it’s purpose – and again I’m not basing my rating off that). The story is actually really good and that was some cliffhanger of an ending. There is a really good chance I’ll read book two.

Club Luxe

3.5 stars.

I don't know what to think of this to be honest. Victoria is a reporter who manages to get herself into an underground sex club. A club that caters to the rich and well known members of society; senators and businessmen. Her sole purpose is to write some sort of expose.

What she's not expecting is 'The King', billionaire Malcolm Cage, who she has been pestering for an interview for quite some time, reigning supreme over the underground 'Kingdom'.

Things happen very very fast. She's naked almost instantly and despite Malcolm's rule about not engaging in any activities personally, she still finds herself in his private room.

I didn't quite feel the supposed instant connection... And then it lost me about three quarters of the way in. It's not the book itself, so much as it's the sheer amount of serials i'm reading these days that start off so good... sexy and hot... Only to veer into something so completely serious and unexpected. I just got the feeling that this series is not going to be focused on the sex club at all, rather the 'situation' he's requested her help on.

Malcolm was a little odd. His behaviour was weird at times, and the things that flew out of his mouth weren't always attractive.

“Come on. Fuck yourself on my leg like a bitch in heat.”

It was an okay read. I might pick up the other books in the series at a later date. However it wasn't good enough for me to want to read on instantly.

Just finished this piece of work! One word- wow…..
I haven’t read any books from this author but after Club Luxe I will definitely stalk her!
In this book we will meet a reporter Victoria. She wanted to write a story about private sex club; sex club for only richest Chicago people. She took her best friend Chloe and got in there!
Ok, about sex club. This club has King of Kink. Nice right? King is owner of secret club. When author first time acquainted us with the King I was laughing so hard! I don’t want to be a spoiler so you need to read this book. But damn I want a crown too!
So when Victoria met King of secret sex club she was a little bit shocked because she knew him. It was a billionaire Malcolm Cage. She wanted his interview a looong time.
When they met both, their minds and bodies were on fire. Well I can’t tell you everything and spoil all fun, but sex scenes will set you on fire. Believe me ;) Againts a wall, in the bed, in the shower……wow….
But don’t think that this book is just about sex and nothing more. No, Malcolm has a secret and he wants Victoria’s help at any cost. Will she help him? Or will he destroy her? God I can’t wait when second book will be released! When you will finish this baby you will want the same think!

I just couldn't get into this story. Veronica is a reporter who finds her way into a secret sex club and is looking to write some type of expose. She meets The King, Malcolm Cage, a billionaire who she has been trying to interview for months. It turns out its his club. He takes a shine to Veronica and takes her to his rooms in the club. First of all, since the clientele is so elite you'd think they'd be running background checks on anyone they let in. Then, the sex was icky They didn't use protection and there were other unbelievable elements to their encounter. The dialogue was all over the place. It just didn't do it for me.

Fast read, too much of erotic and sexy times for my taste, no story what-so-ever!

The H is a father of a daughter and still he treats women like shit in his sex club! Loser. His wife has ran off somewhere and he wants h's help for finding any news about them. So he sleeps with her and then dumps her out of his club. Hmmm, no wonder his wife didn't like to stay with him.

Anyways he then wipes her whole life by the time she reaches home and she has no identity in USA. Then he orders her to help him. Douche-bag!

H/h are not likable, I read this book as it was a freebie on my kindle. :/

I haven't really read any erotica, and I am not above enjoying a bit of explicit smut. But I do have to laugh how rather than the sex being fitted in to the story, the story is kind of fitted around the sex. It is all, of course, highly improbable, but I'm pretty sure one doesn't read this kind of book for reality. I'm sure there are better examples of the genre than this one but it was readable.

I didn't like the book as a whole.

There is too much Porn there. And almost no real plot.

BUT! The storyline which was presented at the end of this book is very promising.

A bit less porn and a bit more plot and it can be a good book series.

DNF. Sadly, it turned pretty awful as soon as the main heroine dropped on her knees to suck "the king" off. No, thank you, madam! I couldn't read past the cringeworthy factor. It was just too awkward.

This book might still be free on Amazon so I encourage you to form your own opinion.

I immensely disliked this book. The premise is very cute, underground sex club, like it. The writing reminded me of something I could find on Fanfiction.net and I HATED the main characters. I hated the way the author wrote ABOUT sex and the book itself was SO problematic.

***I want to point out right away that about a third of the way through the book, there is some VERY dubious consent going on. He is coercing her into something she is very uncomfortable with and she makes it clear that she’s uncomfortable. But, it’s his way or the highway, and after a lot of teasing and being pushed to the sexual edge, she gives in. I get it’s supposed to be “sexy”, big strong man trope, but it’s really not. It’s just super weird and gross. If my SO tried something like that with me I wouldn’t be turned on, I’d be pissed and calling him out on it right away.

There were a lot of references to women enjoying being tossed around, “dominated”, etc. that were definitely not jiving well with me. It felt super rapey and that’s a massive red flag.

Victoria is this strong, independent woman.. until Malcolm says or does anything. After having sex suddenly she’s in love with this asshole of a man, who, mind you, doesn’t hide his being a horrible person. He literally threatens her AND SHE STILL IS OBSESSED WITH HIM.

Don’t even get me started on Malcolm, either. Having a dark past/being mysterious DOES NOT EQUAL being a massive douchenozzle to further your own agenda with no regards to how it affects other people and do not even get me STARTED on that ENDING.

Maybe it’s because I haven’t read much erotica, but I didn’t like how this was structured either. There was so much sex, and just a tiny bit of plot. That’s good, that’s fine, don’t bother giving me plot if you’re not going to give it the time of day until the last 3rd of the book. we know basically nothing about it before then because it’s meant to have a sequel, so can’t give too much away, right? (Sarcasm)

Honestly, I could keep going on, but I think I’m just going to leave it alone at that. If you want to hear more of my thoughts, just ask; I have plenty.

I honestly was so close to DNFing, and just skimmed the last 3rd just to say I read it through. I do not recommend this whatsoever. There has GOT to be better erotica out there. Not sure if I’ll ever try to find it though; this left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended).

She’s a reporter, a young beautiful cocky one, and she has a lead on a private sex club for the one-percenters. She and her hot roommate, Chloe, go undercover to bust it wide open. But when she gets there and the festivities are about to start, she recognizes the man in charge. They call him the king, but he is none other than Malcolm Cage, and he is nude.

This book was very interesting, to say the least about it. I think you could have gone deeper into the characters and given them, or the reader, motivation for their actions, especially for the performance in front of strangers. I think you could have added BDSM with that show because there was definitely an air of dominance and submission in that show of voyeurism and exhibitionism.

I’ve read a couple of erotic stories so far, and I have to say that this is the most explicit so far, but I think, as a reader, the envelope could be pushed further. But if things were turned around and I was to write something like this, I’m not sure I could even come close to this. So, I give this inspiration five stars out of five stars.

Secret like of a billionaire

When Victoria wanted a story she'd get it by any mean. Strong willed and determined her and friend Chole were going to the club. Once there Victoria would first be amazed who owned the club and how he made her body do things. She would then amazed as to his demands and his arrogant was. Chole would surprise her as being a vixen. But most of all when her life is being snatched from her in the back of her mind she knew it was Malcolm and only him. What was she doing to do. A hard truth she'll have to deal with.

Irritating characters

It was difficult to enjoy this story, as the main character, Victoria, changed moods so fast that it gave me whiplash. She was bratty, petulant, and rude. Malcolm's character was meant to be brooding and powerful, but the author's attempt to give him some humanity made him look weak and confused.
The plot was completely overshadowed by these two. I couldn't get into the story much, and, although the book ended with a cliffhanger. I've no intention of reading the next installment.

Good

Very nice book, very good written, just the right amount of sex, it is somewhat refreshing that is not so long and that the story line is very interesting since the “damsel in distress” is not really in distress, not your typical Anastacia or poor girl from little town... and the “billionarie knight” is somewhat not a gentleman at all... hope the rest of the series keep the refreshing tone, so tired of the poor girls that fell in love with the possesive billionaires....

Wow! I have been sure into an alternate reality.

This story just grabbed my attention and won't let me go. I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters are so real and fully developed. I have not been grabbed by a book like this one before. Warning, you can't read only this book without wanting to read them all. Just incredible!

Delicious!!

Malcolm and Victoria are quite the pair . . . Which would make sense since apart they are quite the force to be reckoned with!!! A single minded billionaire and a tenacious reporter find themselves insanely attracted to each other. That’s the premise for this book series and I CANNOT put it down! I love everything about this story.

At the end of this book I'm on the hate team.

She's sweet and apparently HOT so let the bitch be proud and sexy.

Toxic

The stupid girl should have left when he first threatened her. She is just asking to be hurt.
They are both so hot and cold, I swear they are both bipolar.
I also think the author wrote the plot around the sex and that never makes a good book.
