Do you ever get a feeling you're going to love a book before you even start? I sometimes get "book vibes" before I start a book just knowing I'm not going to want to put it down.

This is one of those books that you can't say much about without giving things away. I liked that as I was reading I didn't know what was going to happen. I had my ideas, but I had to fight to not jump ahead to make sure I was right. I love that in a book! I was easily sucked into the story and Tess, our heroine, was ea
Believing she just sent her relationship with her boyfriend down the drain, Tess Dougherty jumps at the chance to help out her brother in North Carolina launching his vineyard. Tess is confused after not knowing where she belongs, her boyfriend or ex has yet to call or text her, her job just went down the drain, and now she seems to find herself in the company of Thatcher who gets under her skin. Thatcher is a bit of an enigma and Tess knows she should not even be thinking about another man with ...more

Let me start out by saying I know there are a lot of people who are going to disagree with my rating on Tess in Boots and that is totally fine. I really, really wanted to love this book because so many of my friends have read it and absolutely loved it! But alas... there were just a few things that kept me from really loving this book.

Tess has to have every aspect of her life planned out. She is overly organized and everything has to be perfect. When her longtime, non-spontaneous boyfr

So super sweet

Aww I enjoyed this so much from beginning to end!! Tess is going thru a rough patch and Thatcher is trying to figure things out as well. Just a super sweet read. :) I do wish there had been a epilogue though. :/

This was such a lovely and surprising story. When I first read the blurb and even when I started reading the book, I was anticipating a sweet story that I would most likely enjoy but soon enough those expectations were surpassed because I got to more than enjoy this book, I loved it! This story was so funny, vibrant, charming, but most of all it had a brilliant puzzling plot that totally captured me and kept me reading and reading.

I seem to have a thing for cowboy and cowgirl boots and the types of characters associated with them. You have laid-back (at least in Tess's eyes) Thatcher who just spells trouble for Tess, and this lovely town full of quirky, sweet, and fun small-town characters. I loved how this sweet romance took a city girl, Tess, and let her unwind, add a little spunk, and become a little bit country. She traded in her high heels for

Tess in Boots is a honestly refreshing light romance. Tess Dougherty is a true planner, from the clothes she chooses to wear and the wedding she has planned since forever. One problem is her boyfriend Logan doesn't seem to be in a rush to propose. Her breaking point is when she believes he is going to, she is once again let down on her hopes of getting married.
Tess's twin brother Jake uses his twin abilities, sensing something is off with his sister and begs Tess to help him out briefly with his
Sweet,fun read!

An adorable, funny, and endearing clean romance.

Tess feels like her world is falling a part....and she sets off on an adventure of survival. Little does she know her dreams might just possibly come true. Problem is, once things begin to fall into place, her dreams aren't all they were cracked up to be. I loved this at times hilarious, sweet romance. Such a light, quick, fun read. I couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed this city vs country romance. Tess had my sympathies right from the start – what a terrible twenty-four hours she had! Still, the lesson here is that sometimes it takes major unplanned events to uproot and set us on a path we wouldn’t normally choose – especially when we’ve convinced ourselves we have the life we want.

There were some great moments in this book (I shall avoid fire stations with full car parks at all costs) and great characters. I laughed out loud in several place

I was so excited to get my hands on this ARC. I remembered when Courtney was pitching this book during twitter pitch parties. She caught my attention a long time ago. The day I picked up the ARC I devoured it. I hid in my room reading and reading. If you want a satisfying light romantic read, this book is for you. The content is clean so teens can enjoy Tess in Boots too. I love all the characters, but you're going to have to grab a copy yourself to find out w

This is a really great refreshing read. This was a clean fun story for me.

When things go tits up for Tess her twin brother asks her to help him set up his vineyard. She's hoping that her boyfriend Logan will her enough to propose. She doesn't take into consideration meeting Thatcher.

This is a great light romantic read. There are some really good laugh out loud moments that I enjoyed.

What a fun read! Unexpected life changes, heart break, self-discovery, brand new challenges, beautiful scenery, not having enough info, renewing family relationships, crazy small town gossip, and an absolute hottie. This was a great story. (I do wish there was a little more with Thatcher though.) I'll eagerly watch for more from Courtney Rice Gager. ...more

I hate writing reviews like this…I hate writing or thinking about the things that I didn’t like or didn’t work for me in a book. I know I’m throwing a pitty party right now, but work with me here. It’s not that I disliked everything about Tess in Boots…but the things that bothered me were enough to take away from my enjoyment…and that’s a bummer. Alright…I’m over my pouting, let’s rip off the

I love the lightness and at the same time growth in this story. I also love the sibling bond Tess and Jake (her twin) have with each other and the funny way the country side was portrayed. The only reason I couldn't give this book a full on 5 was that I was not completely sold with Tess and Tatchers' insta-love story. I was looking a for a deep connection. More background about Tatcher. I mean something aside from, "when you know, you just know". Oh well... over all, I still loved this book and ...more

Tess in Boots is a clean new adult contemporary romance. It is a starting over story, where the main character needs to get away from her current life. Tess lost her job right before she was supposed to get a big promotion and her boyfriend was being all "dud-like".  Not wanting to move forward or do much of anything after being together seven years. So when her brother calls her up out of the blue and tells her he n

A fun, low maintenance, sweet romance. That are the words I'd use to describe this gem of a book. The book starts off immediately with a story and does a great job at making the reader smile, laugh, and even sigh a little too. Anyone of us can probably relate in some way to Tess. She's not looking for everything, just something and someone she can call her own. She wants what every girl wants, the dream. It's not much to ask, right? Well, apparently it is.

Our story starts with Tess and her boyf

OK … So you’ve been dating this guy for years. He takes you for a walk along the waterfront and then into a “quaint little candlelit café” overlooking the Hudson. He announces he has a surprise. What are you thinking? Exactly what Tess Dougherty thought. He’s going to pop the question. He doesn’t. It’s a congratulatory cake to celebrate her promotion. Well, for Tess, this was the end of the line. A few words are exchanged and then she does it … she gives Logan an ultimatum.

Now have you ever noti

Tess in Boots is a charming romantic tale that takes readers on a journey of self discovery, second chances, and ultimately love.

After giving her boyfriend an ultimatum, Tess leaves the city and heads to the backwoods of North Carolina to spend time with her brother, Jake. Arriving at the small town vineyard her brother and his wife inherited,

I sat down one night around 11:00 with the intention of getting started on this book. I couldn't put it down and finished it around 3am.

Tess seems like someone I could be great friends with. The day she finally gets promoted to Marketing Director at work, her company is closed by the feds. She also finds herself at odds with her boyfriend and she just wants to get away. Tess is "rescued" by her brother with an offer for a temporary job at his new vineyard.

Tess Dougherty has the perfect life: handsome long-term boyfriend who’s about to propose, and a job as Marketing Director in a swanky New York office. Then she doesn’t. He doesn’t propose, she gives him an ultimatum, and then her entire firm is closed overnight. She retreats to North Carolina where her twin brother and his wife have just inherited a vineyard.

Tess has planned her wedding to Logan. They have dated fro seven years, and she knows that he is finally going to ask her to marry him at a special dinner. But, it doesn't happen. He congratulates her on a job promotion and then leaves for a business trip right after she gives him an ultimatum.

He missed the fact that she was laid off from work the next day and received a surprise invitation from her twin brother, Jake, to help him out on a vineyard he and his wife just inherited.

This wasn't an extremely long book but it was an enjoyable one. Tess is your typical city girl who is at a point in her life where big decisions are abundant. She is easy to relate to because almost every girl has had to deal with these types of decisions and we have all big dreams and our hearts broken. I rooted for Tess right from the beginning and hoped that she would find her happy ending. Just from the type of book this is, I could tell from pretty early on how the story would end but that ...more

I really loved this book! Like, a lot. A hot cowboy is always good, right? And a hot cowboy who also happens to be awesome and sweet and romantic? What can make that better? The fact that he is slightly tortured by his past just makes him way more intriguing.

I also really admired Tess. Who hasn't wanted to run away and escape when things suck? I know I sure have, but have never had the guts to actually do it. She hopes to get away for a few weeks to clear her head and reevaluate her life. But
Oh. My. How I loved Tess in Boots. It was a just right kind of read; not over the top, but enough awwwwe moments. My romantic heart was a happy camper reading this book.

I loved Tess. Loved. Her. Like so many of us (okay probably just me) she seemed to have it all together until she woke up to discover she was a mess. In this case, that turned out to be good. She decided to take a chance, some risks, and let go a bit. I think there are times to follow your head and times to follow your heart. I l

I was so excited to read this book ever since I helped reveal the awesome cover a few months ago! I’ve always loved those Hallmark type movies that have someone from a ‘big city’ visiting a small town and, well, not liking it at first but eventually falling in love with the town and its people. So, this book based on the synopsis sounded right up my alley – and it was. I really enjoye
