This story really caught me off guard with it being surprisingly sad and heartwrenching. I loved how it was told in third person, you really felt connected with the main character as if it were you.

Right from the beginning I could tell that Taylor wanted some kind of approval and just wanted to tell someone the truth about her boyfriend and it definitely hits you like a ton of bricks when y

My Boyfriend is a Senator by Linda Davis

Well everyone, hold on to a box of kleenex, cuz this one will make you cry. Taylor is our main character and she is in need of some love, or that's what I see, and some acceptance. She really just needs a friend and a hug too. And when she finally does start opening up and the truth comes out, it's gunna knock the breath out of you. And it'll make you want to hug her more.

This one is the thrill ride of the book. The characters are def

I have received an ARC copy of this anthology in exchange for an honest review.

My Boyfriend is a Senator by Linda Davis (4 stars)

It was an interesting story. It's told from the POV of the main character, Taylor. A young woman, whose boyfriend is a Senator. An older guy, who is making her believe that he is separated. I was sad for her, when she is all the time telling herself that her "Boyfriend is a senator". But most of the time I was annoyed with her. I wanted to shake her and tell her: WAKE

When I was given a free download of this, my first e-book, and asked to write an honest review, I wasn't sure how this --or any-- e-publisher could produce a small collection of stories for 99 cents that would really rattle my stars. I wasn't far into the first story when I knew that I was in a great place, where only well-developed characters lived. They were in every story, revealing unique points of view in our everyday settings. I can easily imagine discussions at multiple levels about each ...more

I'm not a massive fan of short stories because I always feel there's little character development and the story feels rushed, but not so with this anthology, each story felt complete. While I enjoyed all the stories, my favourite by far was The Talisman by Heather Hildenbrand. She managed to pull me in and keep me griped for her short story. It had mystery, suspense and a great paranormal element. I loved the demi demons and the lore behind the talisman and would love to read more from this worl ...more

Ive only read TALISMAN by Heather Hildenbrand so ill withhold rating the anthology as a whole to be fair to the other authors.

Anyways, TALISMAN is the last story in this anthology at maybe 10-20 pages tops. It's quite a simplistic Angel fantasy story and the Talisman being an important relic in the ongoing Angel-Demon war. Avery and Loch are second generation angels who've just been inducted to the army so to speak.

TALISMAN has an open ending so this could either be a prequel to a new series H

This is a great collection of stories. I really want more after reading each one.
Each story is it's own. Each left me with questions. I flowed from one story to the next some left me with my mouth hanging open really wanting the rest of the story.

Each is a great little clip that explores different sides of perception. How you see something is not how everyone else will see it. When your life shifts how will you perceive it? Will you look crazy or will everyone around you be the crazy on
