Oh lordy how do I write a review for this without giving too much away. I was lucky and happened to be a beta reader for this book. This was so much fun, I would love to do it again.
Lets start off with a spoiler (view spoiler) Now that I got that off my chest here we go.

Contagious ended with dear Hayden getting shot. It was awful and I was terribly worried that he was going to die. I will note how much I hate books ending with huge cliffhangers like that. It is not n

Wtf! I think the author Emily Goodwin is trying to give me a heart attack. This book starts off with a f*cking bang especially coming from that crazy ending from book one. I'm not gonna lie. My heart rate did speed up and I had a lot of oh sh!t moments. This book is really good and I enjoyed it a lot. Lots of twist and turns. I don't wanna

Unfortunately, this one did not improve on the first. The story remained the same, get chased by zombies, kill zombies, rinse, repeat 50 times... There was no forward movement at all in the plot. There were many typos and errors in word usage which made the going difficult. That will be the last one by this author that I try.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be a beta reader for this book. Let me tell you it is a great read. Fast paced full of action. There is a little bit of everything in it for everyone! There is no way I can write a full synopsis of the plot without giving away spoilers so I will just get to the good/bad part of my review.
The Good:
Orissa grows and matures a great deal in this book. She is still hard headed and kick butt but she is learning to pick her battles.
We get tons of new background on alo

Okay so lets just say that this is like one of my favorite books in the whole entire world!!!! I had the awesome chance to be a beta reader for it and I just couldn't put it down. So much happens. The characters grow so much, you learn new things about them (and you thought you knew them), and there action just about every page. Emily starts off right where book one ended and trust me it's not what your going to expect. More people come to the compound with a weird story on how they got there, a ...more

I am almost finished with the second in the series and I am enjoying it greatly! Orissa's character is continually developing, along with meeting new and interesting characters in the book. Exciting events happen throughout the story, and some mysterious ones too which leave you wanting to know more about this strange zombie virus. Only a few pages left, and I can't wait for the next in the series!

Great sequel! Love the fast paced fights against zombies! The reason why it's not a 5* book is that in between the fast paced scenes the writing is not as fluent. At times the author just sums up what charachters do all day and there's no smooth flow to these bits like in the fight and action scenes.

Review on:

And again I will repeat myself. I hate endings.... I figured out that Emily Goodwin likes to leave her readers begging for more. And I give it to her when I say that she's an amazing writer because she knows just how to create Tension, describe the most amazing fight scenes and the most disgusting Zombies out there. But the thing she does best is always ending her books making sure we will read the next one.

Orissa has come a long way. For having
First the good: I love it! Story is wonderful and characters are even better! I do like that the author "softened" Orissa just a bit in this one, it made her character more powerful. It is fast paced and will evoke so many different emotions from you while you are reading it (anyone else want to reach in the book and beat the tar out of those hillbillies??).
Second: The improvements since the first book. Spelling and grammar was a little better in this one than the first one, but there are still

I received this book to give an honest review.
So when book one left off with a cliff hanger I needed to read book two to see who is going to survive. I am so glad I got to read book two, I literally was itching to see what was going to happen now. I think with this one we see Orissa grow a whole lot more as a solider pretty much. Yes she does whatever it is to survive and save others but she can handle herself which is amazing.
We finally get to see what l

Just finished this book and... here is my review.

Like the first one in the trilogy, there are some serious grammatical errors. I've noticed that there is a lot of useless and immature dialogue. Fitting for the characters ages, but not so much worthy of mentioning in the actual book.

Another thing I noticed is that it will have entire chapters dedicated to every little thing that happens, and then have a paragraph explaining the next few da

And so, the trilogy continues...
Whenever I start reading a middle book, I find myself expecting the worst. Will the plot be too slow? Will there be too little information, or too much? Middle books are usually used to build the characters, while teasing the reader with only tidbits of what is still to come. As a general rule, I HATE middle books.
That being said, I most certainly did NOT hate this book! It stands on its own two feet, if those two feet were being dragged behind a festering, pus fi

After reading the first book in the series and being completely hooked, i just had to read the second. This one sure didn't let me down when I started to read it. Emily Goodwin has done a really good job with the series. I am really enjoying them. The storyline keeps me on edge as I cheer on Orissa and the love of her life, her marine Hayden. Numerous plot twists and unanswered questions follow throu out the book and on into the next.

This book captured my attention just as much as the first did

I really am enjoying this series. Although, I have to admit, at first this was kind of draggy for me in the beginning. I wasn't too thrilled. I can't wait to get my hands on the third book. Orissa is so talented, handy to have around, and useful. Probably no ones first choice before the zombie apocalypse. No expectations in life and mediocrity being the norm for her. Then all hell breaks loose and she really steps up and shows her stuff. I love Padraic and all the friends that she has made along ...more

This is a fantastic read & I really do recommend it! That is if you love Zombies/suspense/romance/excitement types of books then these are the way to go, These aren't just your normal Zombie-want-brains novels. I must say I LOVED these books & I can not wait to read the 3rd book. the way Emily writes helps you picture the situation or person. She makes you feel as if you are part of the A-1's team too. This is one of the best apocalypse stories with zombies and some romance out there. I read this two years ago and it was one of if not THE first zombie zeries I read. When the author released her third book I had to reread to know exactly where we are. I am so glad I did. This is the old version, folks. Emily Goodwin has re-released all the books in this series with new editing. It needed it and it is why I am giving this version only 4 stars.

By Emily Goodwin

One word AMAZING.  Emily has yet to disappoint me with any of her books to this date.  I was unable to stop reading the book.  I loved how she flowed this book right where book 1 ended.  She is the Queen of the Zombies in my book.  She is also the Queen of Cliffhangers the size of the Grand Canyon.  I was left screaming NO you can't stop there.  But that on,y means that I must get the next book in the series or I will be unable to stop thinking

I was so excited to get book two of this series as an arc. The trend lately is to have super nice vamps, zombies, shifters etc. who are pretty much human, but with powers. This is not one of those series. These Zombies are freaky, scary, and gross. I love it!!!! This installment of the trilogy begins exactly where book one left off and it was a nonstop adventure from the first page. This is basically how my emotions went: Phew!!!!! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?! People are sometimes worse than Zombies! It is a ...more

So I still am loving it! Everything is just amazing but I can't help thinking that the endings is kinda an irresistible but not too much of a cliffhanger.
I cried when they lost, this thing that happened is something I craved. I mean, its an apocalyptic novel, its bound to happen, I waited for things like this. But when the death happened here, I was just so sad. I was thinking we really didn't need that. Orissa is so unbeatable. I didn't think that she can't outshine death.
Anyway, Orissa and Hay

Ok I would actually give it a 4.5 stars. Again another well done story. There were some grammatical errors in this one as well but again it didn't get in the way of the story line. I really enjoyed this story, what I didn't like was not ever mentioning what happened to her in the beginning of the book with the crazy people and of course once she gets Olivia back to the compound we dont ever hear from her character again. Which in my opinion I thought was actually a big deal. They had to survive ...more

I'm a HUGE zombie fan. I'm one of the people who loves things about the Z apocalypse. As the World Dies is my favorite series so far. I also like TWD. I pretty much love everything with zombies but not the necromancy type (whoever brings back the dead and controls them) or the zombie who can talk and live like a human (except Warm Bodies).

The compound's structure is pretty amazing. In a Z-apocalypse, you can never be too sure of anything and everything is a work in progress. I think the roles a

Another amazing zombie novel! I love the characters in this series and the development of them all. Huge suspense at the end of the book, making me scream for the next one!
Again just minor grammar issues with the book, and I did find it a little repetitive at times.

I love how the author doesn't just focus on one problem eg zombies, surviving. She focuses on all the relevant issues in a ZA, including how mad people become when separated from others and technology, simple everyday things like fo

Starting where the first book Contagious left off you're thrown right back into the world of: Hot Military Guys, Zombies, Fighting for your life, Orissa (love her), and more question than answers.

The gruesome world that Emily painted in Contiguous is built upon and continued. The story is written in such a way you feel as if you're there; experiencing everything with Orissa.

I love this series, it's only taken me soon long to get to this book because I want to drag it out as I know it will end

I love the way Emily Goodwin writes. I'm not really a big fan of all the zombie books, but this series has me totally hooked. I love relationship between Hayden and Orissa. I like how she brought the two together and how they continue to help each other during one of the most difficult situations of their lives. She has found the perfect balance of given details, she gives just enough so that you can understand what is going on or where they are at and then gets back to the story line. Love this ...more

This was an excellent zombie apocalypse book!! I couldn't put it down. I was so tired during the day because I kept reading into the night. I love the main character so much, from her wonderful name to the kick ass, take no crap from nobody, and take charge and kill zombies attitude. This is one of those books you try to read really slowly because you just don't want it to end. However, no matter how hard you try you can't put the book down!! I love this book, it always had my heart pumping! Some things got really repetitive tho which was annoying like I get it she can shoot a crossbow and it took her a long time to be good!! That was said like 100+ times. I like the characters, hate the names of them tho, and I'm in love with Hayden. ALSO!!! WHat the hell is with the S1s??? ...more

One of the few books that I'm actually giving a higher star rating on the second book than I did on the first. The author has gained some experience with this character, and she really seemed to come out on her own. The world felt fleshed out, situations seemed more planned, and it was overall a better book. The first one had me interested, this book had me hooked and I can't wait till the third comes out. Waiting is going to suck, hope I remember that I want to read this book next year.

huge twist for me at the beginning. the situation reminded me of Texas chainsaw massacre or some other like minded movie. the scary thing is, I could actually see this happening if the apocalypse ever unfolded. I cant share what happens. as that would be considered a spoiler :) as for the book in its entirety I loved it. Emily Goodwin did not disappoint. lots of action, zombie slaying, and some steamy scenes. woot!
