The reason I like this book is because it has only one caption about Lucy and very little about other hominids. It is about early human archaeology remains and how people lived in the ice age, the bronze age and the iron age. There are lots of interesting pictures of tools, weapons and artifacts. There is one page on the Maya, one on the Native Americans and one on the ancient Chinese.

I know these are made for younger readers but I enjoy them very much. Great pictures and layout make them a joy to read. I always learn something new from them. This volume had a reference to a lost chapter in the Bible, in the book of Daniel called "Susanna and the Elders". Highly recommended

Early Humans ebook

The book has interesting information at a basic level but the transition to ebook format is bungled. Threads of information break off then reappear later. Figure headings don't always match up. Someone needs to fix this.

Read this book for a quick over view and to construct a timeline for a more in-depth study of early man and dispersal patterns. Very nice illustrations.
