This book is filled with random pieces of information on how to clean things. Some of it I thought could be applicable to my house, some of it not so much. (Who keeps Tang and club soda in the house? Because apparently you can use that to clean your toilet in a pinch.) I was looking for a book that would tell me specifically the best way to clean something, and this wasn't really the book for that.

For what it is, a valuable resource. A super duper reference book for those of us who need advice on stain removal and other questions we never thought we had until we needed an answer. Cobb covers those nuts and bolts that our grandmothers knew all about and the next generation decided wasn't important. Well, it is. Do your laundry properly and the rest of your life is easy. (!)

A quick, amusing read with a sort of "old-fashioned" voice. I did learn some about laundry, but I don't entirely agree with Ms. Cobb's approach towards dry-cleaning, which I personally try to avoid due to its hazard to the planet.
