A so-so volume. The first part, superbly illustrated by Pasarin, ties in well with the main series and, without fundamentally advancing the plot, brings the Corps into the game.
The second part, on the other hand, treads water with two pseudo-funny Tom & Jerry-style episodes featuring V Ken Marion's cartoonish artwork, which I don't like at all.
I had a better feeling about the last episode, illustrated by Nahuelpan, where Jessica brings Mogo back to the good side of the Force. But even here, it feels a bit like necessary filler to set the stage for the crossover with the main series.

If I could choose any superpower, a Green Lantern ring would probably be my first choice, but the real potential for stories has always lain with the Corps – hundreds of ringbearers from all over the universe, interacting on the central world of Oa then going out to deal with whatever weirdness the endless worlds can offer, in the ultimate precinct procedural. It's potential which, except in a few Alan Moore back-ups that then got stripmined for decades, has almost never been realised. And despite what briefly looks like a promising approach here (Smurf-like overseers the Guardians are gone, and one of the Earth lanterns is the harried captain), that litany of failure continues in this abysmal outing. We could have started with lots of odd little cases, gradually seeded hints of a bigger picture, built up once we were invested, but no, within the first issue it's all "The thing is radiating insane power levels and they're exponentially increasing", threats to the emotional spectrum and potentially the whole universe, starting with all dials on 11 and nowhere to go from there. Similarly, of all the stories the galaxy can hold, precious little here dares risk anything beyond ever more fiddly and fractal colouring within the lines of Lantern stories past, as though Geoff Johns – Geoff Johns, of all people! – were a titan of antiquity whose work we insignificant moderns can only strive to explicate and imitate. Though, yes, compared to this dross he does start to seem quite appealing. When it does venture beyond revisits and minor variations, including a big bad even the characters call Emo Lantern, it's to delve into the quagmire that is Hawkman's back story, or 'homage' Knowhere, Thundercats' Snarf and, of all the lousy Who eps, Kill The Moon. All of this done with a cast mainly of the human Lanterns, of whom even Guy is now fresh-faced and barely irascible, but then the lot of them are trading exposition and identikit background trauma in dialogue that would be embarrassing as the first draft for a daytime soap. If it has one virtue, and I'm not sure it does, it's to make the leisurely pace and opacity of Absolute Green Lantern entirely forgivable in comparison. In cackest shite, more like.

This was kind of fun and I really liked it, its got so many great story collections and seriously wow!

The first story was fun, taking place on Tamaran and how they recruit a new GL and with Sinestro being an amazing mentor figure in the ranks of GLC and I am so glad they brought him back as a GL and the next story with Thanagar and how personal it gets for John and continuing right with where his solo series left off with what happened in his solo series and how he reacts to it, and Hawkwoman drama.. looks like they are bringing it back from the animated series.. but the big thing with Atrocitus and all stealing off Nth metal from the remains of Thanagar and the GLC led by John stopping them.. and what it results in..

I love how that story showed the plight of the remaining Red Lanterns after what Thaaros did and it actually justifies their actiosns and they will be back big time and I can't wait for it seems like it will be a big story but it also gives a new plot for Thanagarians and I really wanna see it in the Hawk books!

Love how the next arc was more Keli centric showing her origins and like we never really got to see it in full and here we do and its awesome like its the thing with them visiting DCs version of Knowhere.. they calling it Necropia and something with being stuck in Mind maze and Guy and his new trainee also there vs Evil star and it leads to great stories happening side ways and it really expands on Kelis origins and gives her a cool moment and we having some fun with the GLC books expanding on the characters and giving them side quests and fun adventures! There is a sinestro issue too which was alright and features Sinsons.. but next up: STARBREAKER SUPREMACY!

This was an overall pretty fun book having so any great side stories and has loads to do with focus on other characters like John and Keli especially and showing how the GLC is building up again after the Thaaros war and thats awesome, I have missed this book and love how its back and in a way kind of an anthology with different issues focusing on different characters but overall such a fun, cosmic adventure book and I love that!!

With the Emotional Spectrum fractured, it's time for the Green Lantern Corps to get their own book again at last.

Jeremy Adams with assistance from Morgan Hampton manages to share time between not only Guy, John, Kyle, Simon, Keli, Jo, and Jessica, but also manages to rope in some other supporting characters too, all without making the book seem lopsided or overcrowded, which is an achievement with such a large cast. It's not quite as fun as the older series which rotated the cast through every now and then, but this one feels linked to Green Lantern in a way that the old one only really did during the events.

Oh, and Fernando Pasarin's on art, so the book's gorgeous and incredibly detailed. What more do you want?

Long live the GLC!

Pretty solid! Stand-outs were Hawkwoman showing up and the cute little friendship between Simon and Keli. Actually, everything with Keli was a highlight--my only other experience with her was in Bendis's Young Justice, which sucked and made her feel like DC's attempt to cash in on the popularity of Marvel's premiere preteen genius Moon Girl. She's much better as the tagalong kid of an adult team than as the baby of a teen group. John's slow mental unraveling is also interesting to see since he's usually so put-together even in the face of tragedy.

The first part with Hawk girl and John Stewart was very well done and I was ready for some great stories. I knew we would get tons more corps members but honestly, I didn't like any of the directions given to them. Guy Gardner with a Jr. anaphomorphic trainee? Pass. Why Sinestro sticks around is not made clear. Also, the art? The Super evil sons, Sinson and Jor-Zod are drawn as bobble-heads. Distracting.

An ok start to a new corp run. I really didn't like the mind maze/birthday issue though. The art was too cartoony and the story was stupid (a green lantern needs to call a flying taxi to escape a bad guy? Did he forget he doesn't need a vehicle to fly and that he has the most powerful weapon in the universe on his finger?).

The corps is rebuilding. I do enjoy the adventures of Guy Gardner. The appearance of Horus was a surprise. Obsidian market.
