A sinfully sexy romance from NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Jessie Evans.
Even sweet cowboys have a sinful side...
Robert Lawson--Bubba to his friends--is six feet, four inches of tall, dark, and handsome cowboy, with a panty-melting voice and a face made to launch a country music career. But when his family's ranch hands go down with the flu, Robert cancels his high-profile auditions in Austin, and returns home to Lonesome Point to help out. Fortune and fame are all well and good, but family and friends come first. Besides, he's ready to enjoy some off-the-clock time with his manager, a woman who has him dying to show her what a good man can do to a woman when he's given permission to be bad.
Marisol Medina has been looking for her golden ticket since she became a country music manager. A scandal with one of her clients nearly destroyed her, but now she's close to launching an artist who will make her career. Robert Lawson has it all--talent, charisma, and a naughty side the flicks all of Marisol's kinkier switches. But Robert is off limits. She refuses to mix business and pleasure, even if it will be hell resisting temptation while spending a week at the Lawson family ranch, doing her best to convince Robert to ditch the saddle and embrace his future as a star.
But as Marisol and Robert grow closer and the passion between them ignites, Marisol must decide if fear is stronger than love, or if a chance at forever is worth breaking all her rules.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jessie Evans, gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write the sexy, contemporary romances she loves to read.
She's married to the man of her dreams, and together they're raising a few adorable, mischievous children in a cottage in the jungle. She grew up in rural Arkansas, spending summers running wild, being chewed by chiggers, and now appreciates her home in a chigger-free part of the world even more.
When she's not writing, Jessie enjoys playing her dulcimer (badly), sewing the worlds ugliest quilts to give to her friends, going for bike rides with her house full of boys, and drifting in and out on the waves, feeling thankful for sun, surf, and lovely people to share them with.
This tale had country music dreams, ranching responsibilities, and a main fella who was almost too good to be true. He loved his roots but wanted to be his own man and venture out to fight for his dream of being a singer/songwriter. He had the voice, looks and old school charm which made the total package an easy sell. He found a manager who saw his talent and knew what to do to push his career forward. Sounds easy, right... he will sing a bit and be discovered ... find a gal and HEA is on its way.
Well... yes and no...
Our guy's manager is a sexy gal who knows the business and is guiding him with a sure hand... she is protecting him from sex crazed fans and setting up a career making opportunity as an opening act for a major tour. These things are all good... the hiccup is both of them have a desire for each other which is causing frustration... because... he needs to know... is she really into him... and she is fighting to keep her distance and remain business only.
She has a painful past... her lines blurred the last time she managed a singer and the scars from the experience never healed...without the support of her family....those meant to love unconditionally, she was abandoned and turned away... she hurt more from that then by the original sinner.
They are becoming close... writing songs and feeling connected...a kiss takes place blowing wild open the true nature of these wants... With a family need, our guy must return to the ranch to help out... family comes before anything else. She decides to follow him there for the week...helping him and staying close by.... naturally things end up going to another level....
The message I got from this story was all things can be forgiven if you confront them honestly... and move on... if you have someone who loves you... and wants to be there for you... both of you can over come anything... Well, in theory this should be the case... and this tale tried to demonstrate it through these characters.
The main fella was a wonder... when he fell for his gal.... it was a crash.... she was equally into him and the times together were fierce... there were hints of alpha commanding sex... and I could see him being a really good guy... she was strong yet hurt ... she had to fight to allow herself to let him in... but when it happened it was all systems go.
This is part of a series and you could see where others were being presented for their own tales down the line. It wasn't heavy handed... just enough to make you wonder and want to know more.

Saddles and Sins is the first book I’ve read by Jessie Evans. I liked the story; it moved fast and was full of heat!
Saddle and Sins is about Robert Lawson or Bubba as his friends know him and Marisol Medina. Robert is a cowboy from Lonesome Point, he doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life on his family ranch, he wants to sing. As a singer/song writer at heart Robert hires Marisol to help manage his career. Robert and Marisol are very attracted to each other but don’t want to cross that line and ruin their working relationship. When the flu hits Roberts family hard, he returns home to his family ranch to help out. Marisol goes with him to help keep him writing music and to make sure he goes back to Austin.
While at Lonesome Point the attraction between them can no longer be restrained, but Marisol is keeping secrets from her past that she is scared will ruin any chance for a future with Robert.
I liked Saddles and Sins but I just thought things between Robert and Marisol moved a little too fast. Before they really even knew each other they were already confessing their feelings for each other. I just felt it was a little unbelievable. Beside that the story was good and moves along fast so there is no time to be bored. The steam in this book is HOT!!! Smoking Hot!
Wow. If it was possible to fall in love with a book, this is it. I'm a huge fan of Jessie Evans, and all of the hot alpha males, and the women who love them she creates. But Bubba, he's number one now. If I could give this book six stars, I would.
Sorry Nash from Keeping You, you were beaten by Jamison from Sweet to You....then Gabe came along in This Wicked Rush and nearly won me over as my favourite, just like Sawyer from Leather and Lace. You've all made a valiant effort, but the prize goes to Bubba. He was sweet, sexy, dominant and just everything a girl can dream off.
I adored everything about this book, and was so sad to see it end. I can't wait for Pike and Tulsi's story coming up next.
This book isn’t bad but it took me so long to read that I’m wary about trying another from this author. I kept finding any reason possible not to read and I don’t know why.
This review would be kind of harsh and negative so if you're easily offended, please do not continue. May contain spoilers.
First of all, I'm a cowboy virgin. I've never read cowboys or something related to western cultures or whatsoever. I'm not really a fan of country music except for Taylor Swift.
Saddles And Sin is a sequel from the Lonesome Point, Texas series. Leather And Lace was the first one. This was all about Robert Lawson and his music manager, Marisol, who are really trying hard to keep things professional. But the two can't stop the growing attraction and tension so, there was a lot of kissing and making out. LOL. Robert Lawson was said to be hiding some kink behind that good 'ol cowboy hat. Let's try to figure that one out.
So..
I tried. Dear god, I really tried. I can't count how many times I dozed off during my reading sessions with this one. I was really bored and I just don't know how to say all of this without getting sooo rude or harsh. But I just can't help it. If you would ask me if there's something magical or amazing with this hero, none. NA-DA. He's a frigging ordinary hot family-oriented cowboy from a western side of the earth. But yes, he is hot. It's just that.. he's family-oriented and he's a good boy. And I feel like I'm wasting my time with a hero who can't even top my 3 star-hero reads. I get it. He has abs. But that isn't enough. Plus the fact that his nickname is Bubba makes me wanna roll my eyes and walk away. If you would tell me that there's a hot guy named Bubba, I might call you crazy. *sigh* This hero needs a lot more personality. I wasn't really shocked that the hero had a tinnie tiny bit of kink, but.. what does he know? Mild bondage. Spanking. Lol. Is that it?
Marisol. The heroine, is normal and I get the fact that she has a troublesome past that she doesn't want to let Bubba know. I have no complaints. Her past made me interested and curious which occurred somewhere in the 50% mark.
Let's talk about my favorite part, the sex. The sex and steam in this book was really nice and hot. Although I didn't feel the tension, but the dirty talk was really really.. mmm.. smooth. There was a lot of kissing and the foreplay was really hot. LOL. I wasn't really satisfied with the bondage and spanking, I think it would be better if Bubba was more like a bad boy in bed.
On the other hand, about the story. It was.. fine. There was a lot of strangers in the story whom I think were already mentioned in the first part of this series. And because of that, I really had to scratch my head. The story was well-written but there were parts that I really want to skip 'cause it was all trash and it doesn't make sense. Like, who cares?
One thing that I dislike about the story was that, the relationship between Bubba and Marisol progressed too fast. Like on the first few chapters, they already had an attraction (that I really didn't feel at all), and the next day Marisol just said yes, and then the next day, sex, and the next day, they were planning babies and stuff, and boom.. three weeks later, they're forever.
Perhaps this was really really not for me. Obviously. LOL.I recommend this to people who might be into cowboys and loves a little kick and kink. You might enjoy this one.
Wow! What a great read. I highly recommend SADDLES AND SIN by Jessie Evans to any romance lover, as long as you understand Robert is mine! Lol. I just want to steal the sexy cowboy and rising country singing star Robert "Bubba" Lawson away from Marisol Medina and keep him for myself. But I've got to admit they're great together and after the rough time Marisol's had she deserves this kind, sweet, loyal and patient man beside her just as much as she needs his take-charge, bedroom dirty-talker, fiercely protective Alpha man ways. So I concede, but only to Marisol. As for anyone else, I'm claiming him for my book boyfriend.<3
Ms. Evans has given us the story of a young woman who trusted the wrong man. An unscrupulous man who used her, manipulated her feelings for him, and then betrayed her in an unimaginable way. But Marisol is a strong, intelligent, ambitious woman who is determined to succeed on her own terms even when everyone she knows has turned their back on her. She is a professional talent agent who learned her lesson in the hardest way possible about mixing business with pleasure. Her well-learned lack of trust in men has kept her to herself for over two years without a problem, but working with Robert, her recently signed singer, makes her heart race and sends her libido into overdrive.
Robert is just as attracted to the beautiful Marisol and equally determined to break down her walls and prove to her he's a man she can trust. An unexpected week at his family's ranch puts them in close quarters and their chemistry proves irresistible. I loved how Robert, or Bubba to all his family and friends, was so patient and loving to the deeply wounded Marisol. He wasn't afraid to express his feelings or his unconditional devotion which is just what Marisol needed to give him her heart. Beautiful couple. Beautiful love. Beautiful story.
Robert's friends and family add lightheadedness to the story, making the book even better. Saddles and Sin is Ms. Evans second in her Lonesome Point, Texas series but it is definitely a stand-alone novel with each book being about a different couple. I did not have to read the first book to fully enjoy the second. 4.5 stars
~Complimentary copy received in exchange for a honest review~
I love Jessie Evans and her books. She's one of the best, cleanest, witty writers I've ever read. She makes you feel like you are there sharing their lives with them. The characters and towns come alive in her books. I love the Lonesome Point Series. Bubba intrigued me in the first book and I’m so glad that he has his own! Bubba is a sweet, sexy cowboy who can sing. What's better than that? Nothing! Add in his dirty mouth and penchant for all things kink and you have a winner! His manager, Marisol is a bit of a conundrum with her sexy looks and icy walls. One minute she's melting looking at Bubba and the next she's running off. She's the only one who calls him Robert and he loves that about her. He wants to conquer her. To own her. But she's skittish. He has a way with words that made me swoon; sharp, sweet and dirty. The perfect combination. Will Marisol be able to let go of her past and open up to Bubba? Can Bubba get past her secrets and convince her that he's the one? Do not miss this one!!
There was something about him, something more than the handsome features, the drool-worthy body, or the smoke and velvet voice smoother than twenty-year-old-scotch.
But Marisol knew he tasted even better than he smelled, and was the kind of man who wasn't afraid to spank a girl during a first kiss.
"Yes, there's a chance things might end badly, but I know from experience that fear doesn't keep you safe. All fear does is keep you lonely, and shout so loud you can't hear your heart when it whispers."
"And I bet Jesus had a great sense of humor. They just left the funny stuff out of the Bible to save space."
I'm not going anywhere. I'm yours. And you're mine. No returns, no exchanges."
Never, and I mean NEVER, did I expected to fall for a man named Bubba. And yet, Jessie Evans made that happen...and I couldn't be happier about it.
Robert "Bubba" Lawson is a singing cowboy...or he'd like to be. With a beautiful voice and a dream to make it as a country music star, and the help of his sexy manager, Marisol, Bubba is ready to launch his new career. Until family obligation brings him back to Lonesome Point, manager in tow, to help out before he hits the road, that is.
It's hard enough keeping his hands of relationship-shy Marisol when he knows she wants to keep business and pleasure separate. She's been burned by the past, and she afraid of ruining what she has in and with Bubba before it even begins.
But after week spent getting to know Marisol better? Well, Bubba finds keeping his hands off her impossible...
Oh, for the love of sexy, singing cowboys... I may have only read two books in the Lonesome Point, Texas series so far, but I can easily see it becoming a favorite, pick-up-when-I-need-a-guaranteed-good-time series.
Why? Well, this book is a fine example. Saddles and Sin is so much fun!! It has surprising depth, characters that aren't overly dramatic and a story that has real tension and a bit of angst. Oh, and it's sexy and funny too.
It's easy to get lost in this book because the characters are likeable, because their reactions feel real and because you are rewarded with a wonderful ending that gives you both a big smile and an almost unstoppable need launch straight into the next book. Which I'm about to do... ~ Beth, 5 stars
Once again, I have just spent a whole book transported to a place far from where I sit. The bringing to life of these characters and their environs makes reading the story all the more enjoyable. Bubba (not my favourite nickname for a hot dude) was a great friend in Leather and Lace, and now gets his own chance at an HEA. However, that may be damaged by his ambition to be a star in the music business too. That his interest rests firmly on someone he should keep a purely professional relationship with adds to the complications. Maybe events are somewhat precipitous here, but they are hot and passionate nonetheless! Cannot wait to see what awaits in the new release, Diamonds and Dust!
Phew!! *fans self and drinks glass of cold water* I received an ARC of this book to write my honest review, and first I want to say: Saddles and "Sins" indeed! You can cut the sexual tension in this book with a knife!! First time I've read a book with a dominant cowboy in it, and I have to say Veronica likes (lol)!! Jessie Evans' "Lonesome Point, Texas" series continues with Bubba's story. I fell in love with Bubba in book one and was excited to read about his HEA...and this book delivers and then some. His and Marisol's story is one you will not regret reading. Each new chapter is better than the last, and I have to commend Jessie on the twists and turns this book takes. Kept me very entertained and in love with the characters. Can't wait for the next installment!!! <3
I had the honor of receiving an ARC of Saddles and Sin for an honest review, and honestly, I have no idea where to start...
My only problem with this book is that I couldn't put the damn book down. Saddles and Sin is a supremely well-written story that keeps you on the edge till the very end. Jessie Evans had me captivated from the very first page and had me on a roller coaster of emotions right to the very last page. She makes you feel every emotion that the characters are going through. I cannot tell you how many times I had tears streaming down my face. Saddles and Sin is a beautiful, emotional story of true love that despite all the obstacles, it could lead to the most amazing things. This book is wild and raw and so very HOT!
Absolutely loved Saddles and Sin !!!! Wish I could give it a 10 star review because I'm telling you Bubba stole my heart and I don't see him letting go.
Robert aka "Bubba" is the kind of man you dream about (at least I do ) , he is a gentleman at heart but still knows how to handle his woman so to speak...hint hint.
Torn between taking care of his family and finding his own future can he find love also? You'll have to read it to see but it is worth every last word to find out.

It was nice to be back in Lonesome Point especially for the benefit to raise funds for Old Town. Robert aka Bubba to his friends and family, is a good old boy who likes to do the right thing for his family and friends. But when he has a chance to make it big as a country singer he keeps pinching himself not believing things could get real so fast. This is his and his manager, Marisol’s, story and what a story it is. Extremely hot but also romantic and lots and lots of loving – burn up the sheets and everywhere else type of loving. Marisol has lots of baggage and lots of secrets that she wants kept in the past. Robert knows she’s the woman he loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with no matter those secrets. Little by little she lets some details out but not the big bad secret which she doesn’t spill until she thinks someone else has. Watching her disbelief that life can be so good to her now when she had a tough upbringing and things to be ashamed of that don’t seem to matter anymore was heartbreaking.
There were family and friends – most of whom we met in book one of the series, Lavender and Lace, and it was nice to be reunited with them and also great to know that they will be in future stories since the series continues. Clementine was still a hoot the little she was in the storyline. Seeing Mia and Sawyer so happy was a nice touch too. There was sadness, hurt, disbelief, anger, fear, tears, laughter, lots of music and ranching, plus beautiful scenery. There was a nice happily ever after on several fronts and wonderful closure. I’m looking forward to reading book three in the series, Diamonds and Dust.
Evans is a new to me author only having read the first two books in the Lonesome Point, Texas series so far but I look forward to reading the many more books in this western romance series as well as her others.
Favorite Quote: …With Robert, she wasn’t the square peg. She was a lock that had found its key, and the whole world felt like it was opening up to her, showing her bright, beautiful, miraculous things she’d overlooked before. Things like hope, mercy, acceptance, and love.
With a history of family rejection after a vengeful ex ruined her life and almost her career, Marisol is reluctant to allow someone into her heart. Bubba on the other hand is running after his dreams of becoming a country music singer full force and finding his attraction to his new manger undeniable. Bubba’s loyalty to his friends and passion makes him a giant teddy bear of a man that makes you wish you had friends like him in your life.
Marisol fights her instincts to love Bubba and let him in on her secrets to the point that she almost loses him before she ever gave him a fighting chance. While I struggle with characters who aren’t honest about their pasts out of fear of others reactions, I know that is a personality trait that many are familiar with. I’m a firm believer of not hiding things and saying “F*@k’em” if people aren’t accepting so this literature drama was frustrating to me as a reader.
In the end, the HEA is worth the struggles and the story line carried on.
I purchased this book as part of the “Hot Texas Days Anthology” by Lili Valente on Audible and preferred the first book in the series, Leather and Lace more.
I love a strong FMC and Marisol was it. She went for what she wanted. All but Bubba. Who is holy swoon worthy cowboy. Talk about a total gentleman in public and hello alpha I would say behind closed door but doors were not required. This was so good. I loved seeing Mia and Sawyer and where they were and I’m dying to know more about Tulsi.

A cute cowboy read. I liked both Marisol and Robert. They had were friends first that quickly morphed into something more. This progression happened quickly. It went from 0-11 in seconds but when they connected her heat was of the charts. The storyline held m interested and it was a pleasant read.
I love Bubba's story! Such a wonderfully sweet guy! Fell for him in Leather and Lace as Mia's best friend. Made me want a bestie like Bubba. *sigh* But, lucky Marisol got him. Wonderful story. I liked the ending. I am looking forward to visiting Lonesome Point again with the next book.
I’m not always a fan of country/cowboy type romances but there was some about big and strong Robert (aka Bubba) losing his heart to Marisol. Even though they both think they should keep their relationship professional it’s hard to fight the chemistry between them.
This is the second book in the Lonesome Point series. It is the story of up and coming country music star Robert “Bubba” Lawson and his manager, Marisol. Lonesome Point characters are a pleasant surprise.
Bubba Lawson may love Lonesome Point, but his dreams are of a career in music, not tending cattle on the family’s ranch. And lucky for him, everything seems to be working out his way, with people taking notice at his gigs, a chance to open on a big tour, and a firecracker of a manager who’s earning more than just his respect.
Marisol Medina learned to be strong because she had no other choice. Getting involved with a client was her road to shame, abandonment by her family, and something close to rock bottom, but she’s built a decent name for herself since then. She’s certainly got an eye for recognizing talent, and Bubba’s got it by the truckload. If only he didn’t catch her eye in completely inappropriate and dangerous ways.
But... “Three fourths of the population of Austin was composed of different shades of bottled blond…” Because this story takes place in an alternate universe ಠ_ಠ
Judging Covers: Okay, now this cover fit. True, it’s not much different than the one for Leather and Lace, but where that book starred a bald biker, this one’s actually about a cowboy. Between the cover and the fact that we met Bubba in the last book, I actually had some clue what to expect this time.
The Verdict: I had the feeling I’d love Bubba’s story; I just didn’t know how much.
Bubba’s had his heart in singing for a while but didn’t have the confidence to give it a real shot until now. However, he knows his family may not be so supportive, given what the music industry has put them through in the past. Even so, he heads off to Austin, hires a manager, and books gigs that seem to be making people take notice. It’s the manager that’s his real problem, though, since his mind is on anything but business when he looks at her.
Marisol can’t help noticing her client, either, and even though she knows better than to get involved, it’s hard when he’s not only insanely attractive but also genuinely good of heart. He’s all “yes, ma’am,” and “no, thank you,” and too nice to tell off the women throwing themselves at him, even though they make him uncomfortable. But when a kiss to ward off the fans kindles something much hotter, it’s clear he may not be all gentleman after all.
The chemistry between Bubba and Marisol is incredible, but her misgivings and his need to respect her no matter what have them dancing around this thing between them more than either of them can stand. However, a trip back to Lonesome Point gives them plenty of time to be alone and work through those walls, and it’s clear neither of them is intent on a simple fling.
Marisol’s past really surprised me, though at the rate that kind of thing happens, I shouldn’t have found it so out of the ordinary. If anything, though, it made me feel even more sympathetic toward her, knowing that what happened isn’t something she’d ever be able to get away from. Of course, the way that Bubba handled it made it almost okay and certainly cemented him in my mind as one of my favorite romance novel heroes.
The only problem I had with the story was the fact that Marisol’s big secret seemed to be a non-issue after it was revealed to Bubba. It’s not that I wanted him to have a problem with it, but with his career taking off, you’d think it would come up again. Surely someone would see Marisol with the up and coming country music star and put two and two together, and certainly Shane, disgusting pig that he was, would have wanted to capitalize on that. I can’t say I’d have liked it to come back to bite them as often as I’m sure it would have in the real world, but I’m not sure such a serious subject can just be swept under the rug the way this one was.
In any case, the story was both hot and sweet, with Bubba being every bit the good boy his mother raised him to be and every bit the alpha male women dream of. Marisol was kind and smart and understandably skittish, and that just made them perfect for each other. Also, either I was too into the story to even notice the same editing issues the last book had, or someone finally got their money’s worth from the editing firm because I didn’t find myself trying to dodge the weirdly added commas this time. Between the great characters, the strong romance, and the editing improvements, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have to break down and pre-order the next book in the series.

I love Jessie Evans Books and she gets them out like crazy! I met Robert "Bubba" in Leather And Lace as Mia's best friend and he was there for her and was a great man so happy that we get to find out more about him.
Robert aka Bubba has been busy with getting his country music out there with small gigs and auditions hoping to get a break. He has a Manager that knows his worth and is behind him all the way and her name is Marisol. Ever since they met Robert felt that she was the perfect fit for his career and also in other aspects in his life....there was a spark that he could not deny. He had no idea what she felt towards him other than her talent and even when she did say anything about his looks, he wasn't sure if it was for business or how she really felt. When one night he wanted to test his theory, he got his answer but she pulled away, she needed to keep this professional for both of them.
Marisol doesn't want Robert to know that she is turned on in so many ways when he is around her. She needs to keep it professional and show his talent to the world. She also doesn't want to get too close....she has secrets that she feels can make him run and she needs him just as much as he needs her. When Robert has to go back home to help his family, she decides to go with him so they can work while he is out there but she also knows being so close to him for a week can break her down. They also have to keep their working relationship away from the family....
Robert may be a sweet ole boy but he has the perfect amount of alpha in him when he needs to it come out. He wants Marisol and not just her body but also her mind and soul. He sees that she is hurt and wants to be that friend to get her to open up. He wants her and when she starts to let her walls down.....he wants her even more. Marisol wants the fairytale but she is not sure if Robert will still want her if her secret comes out, she doesn't believe she is worthy of his love. But she does know that she feels safe around him and that means so much to her.
There are so many questions to be answered but here are a few. Will Robert make it as a country singer? Can they move past the issues that haunt Marisol? Will his family accept his choices?
I loved Robert and Marisol! They make one amazing team. I also enjoyed seeing what the rest of the gang were up to and excited about the next book. I can't wait to meet Mia's brother, Pike.
Quotes:
"I will flirt with club managers, and be your arm candy t events until you find a cute little thing to take home to your mama, but that's here it ends. As long as you are my client, it's business between us."
"I don't give a shit about good ideas. I want to work with you, and I want to be your friend, but I also want to make you come."
He couldn't help worrying that maybe love wasn't always enough, and that some secrets had the power to destroy the best things in the world, no matter how determined a man might be to stop them.

Saddles and Sin is book two in Jessie Evans' Lonesome Point series, and I must say is an outstanding addition to the series. Robert is positively a sweetheart and the most loving man I have read about in quite some time. But my oh my was I surprised by him when "behind the bedroom door," he virtually transforms into a dominant and dare I say the most sexy book boyfriend I have read about in quite some time. Yowza!
Robert Lawson has lived his entire life in Lonesome Point helping his family to run their ranch. But ranching is far from his dreams for the future as he has always wanted to be in the country music business. Robert has finally decided to take a chance and has signed on with Marisol, a music manager, who after hearing him sing believes she has finally found a client who has the potential of becoming a huge star which will help launch her managerial career in the business as well. Attempting to keep their relationship strictly on a professional level quickly proves to be an impossible feat as both Robert and Marisol struggle intensely with their mutual attraction towards one another.
Marisol Medina has suffered from betrayal in the past both professionally as well as from her own family and since then has continued to keep her heart sheltered and protected. So when Robert agrees to sign with her, despite the allure she feels for him chooses to focus only on making him the next biggest country sensation. But when Robert suddenly has to return home to help out his family, not wishing to risk losing her greatest prospective client, Marisol decides to go to Lonesome Point with him so she can continue the momentum she has begun to build for his career. But as they continue to spend time together, the walls of professionalism begin to crumble drawing them into each other's arms and hearts. So when Marisol’s past rises once again, she is left with making the decision of whether to run or if she can put her trust in Robert to help her overcome the hurt she has suffered and allow him into her life and ultimately into heart and into her soul?
Saddles and Sin is one sensationally sexy and sinful story. Although we did meet Robert in book one of this series, we now are made privy to more of his inner turmoil on his career decisions and in dealing with his family as well as his proclivities in the bedroom. Ms. Evans definitely has given us some hot and steamy intimate moments between Robert and Marisol which may require a large glass of ice water before you’re through. I liked both of these characters very quickly and am also delighted with the return of some of the characters from the first book as well. I am very much enjoying the Lonesome Point series and look forward to more characters and more sexy fun with book three. Positively sinful Ms Evans. I loved it.
We met Robert "Bubba" Lawson in Leather and Lace. He is a good old country boy, lineman, part time rancher, good friend, and family support. But now he is leaving Lonesome Point to try his hand at one of his dreams of becoming a country singer. He is beginning to have success and now has women falling at his feet. But his manager Marisol is the one woman that intrigues him but is off limits.
Marisol is ambitious, strong willed, and looks put together. But she has big walls up due to her hurtful past and history. She has secrets, trust issues, a significant fear of rejection, and tends to be a runner. And she fights to keep her defenses up around him. But they have an attraction and chemistry that is hard to resist despite the complications.
Bubba is such a sweet, strong, loving, humble guy. He is there when others need him and loyal to his friends and family. But he is also a bit dominant and alpha too. He knows what he wants in a relationship and is not afraid to pursue it and is not afraid of commitment. But is confused and conflicted due to mixed signals and challenges. And he is also torn between following his own dreams and family commitments.
They seem like opposites, but it some ways they are not so different. When they return to Lonesome Point together, we see different sides to both of them. But there are secrets and past pain that keep her guarded and fearful of his reaction. And he has to walk a fine line between pushing her enough to get results but not enough to send her running.
But when things begin to come together for them and his burgeoning career, will his dreams end up getting in their way? And once her secrets are out will it be the end of their relationship both professionally and personally?
It was told in both Bubba and Marisol's points of view allowing us to see into their inner thoughts, feelings, and fears. The couple was likable and had chemistry, but I felt the pacing was a bit fast especially the relationship aspect of it. But it was still another fun, sweet, romantic read in this series with a little mystery and painful history.
I enjoy the characters and community of Lonesome Point. We got to see more with Mia and Sawyer (Leather and Lace) and Tulsi and her daughter Clementine. I love their camraderie, humor, and support of each other. I am really looking forward to Tulsi and Pike in Diamonds and Dust. The stage has been set for some drama in that one.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
