well written, informative and insightful reading. should be useful for social entrepreneurs at field or in preparation.
this book tries to figure out how to scale up a social enterprise by examining current social enterprises and their obstacles to scale up.
the book first introduces the face of poverty and the suitability to consider the base of pyramid as a underserved market. it goes on to examine social entrepreneurs in specific fields like lighting, housing or drinking water etc. it draws lessons from each section, then explains obstacles, and finish with insights from the field. insights include hybrid value chain and marketing at bop.
short read, packed with information.
