I love discovering new authors, especially those with a unique voice.

And boy, has Incy Black delivered on that promise.

Four years ago, Major Jack Ballentyne followed Special Agent Lowry Fisk into a death trap. Fortunately, both of them lived to tell the tale, but when he had Lowry drummed out of the British Intelligence Service for her own safety—and his own peace of mind—he knew she’d never forgive him.

Lowry Fisk knew, she just knew, that the Service had a mole, and it was up to the Assassins,

'Hard to Forget' is a fast-paced, gritty, sexy story. Full of strong, realistic characters, which showcase this author's amazing, unique voice perfectly. The dark, action- packed scenarios are not for the squeamish. Every unsavoury incident reveals more about Jack and Lowry and those involved in their deadly pursuit.

Jack and Lowry are characterised by their mental toughness and emotional

Incy bloody Black you made me cry and then some!

After reading Hard to Hold, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Hard to Forget, even though I questioned how Ms Black could possibly surpass the brilliance of her debut. To say I was stunned by this book would be an understatement. I felt as though my heart had been ripped out by the author and every so often she’d give it a hefty squeeze just to remind me how powerful this read is.

Lowry Fisk dug deep under my skin from the get go and I was gripped

This book was nowhere near what I was expecting - at all. I mean, the synopsis sounded good but I didn’t expect the fantastic writing, the hot tension between Jack and Lowry, and the dark scenes that Black brought to this book.

Hard to Forget starts with so much commotion and action that it is hard not to be sucked in from the beginning. It is also hard not to fall in love with Jack Ballantyne (even though there were many moments that I wanted to punch him) and feel truly sorry for Lowry Fisk. I

An adrenaline rush from beginning to end.

I loved Jack and Lowry and their sparkfilled relationship, with espionage and guns blazing to thwart them.

The second in this excellent series just as sassy as the first, I now can't wait for Will's story!

Hard to Put Down!!

From the moment I started reading this book I could not put it down! Action and intrigue started on page one! Despite her tragic past, Lowry, is sweet, brave, realistic and quite funny at times. Bruised and on the verge of being broken, Lowry fights to keep her head held high by facing her demons even with the temptation to run and hide. She runs straight into the arms of the intelligent, strategic, gorgeous and cold as ice Jack Ballyntine. Together they turn the tables on

For a start, what an opening to a book! Incy Black doesn't disappoint if you're looking for a piece of romantic suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. Unlike the previous novel, Hard to Hold, I did not feel confused about the setting and could relax into the story straight away. Also, like the previous novel, this story does not shrink from depicting violence necessary to the story and I will confess I read the first part through my fingers when considering ...more

It took this book to confirm it, but Incy Black has made it on my auto buy list. After reading Hard to Hold in April, I was eager to read the next installment in this series. I have to say that I enjoyed this one even more than the first.

Ms. Black has a very unique voice/writing style that keeps me on the edge of my seat. She is very good at making you feel like you are right there in it, when the shit hits the fan. This series reminds me a lot of the new James Bond series. Daniel Craig as Bond

According to Goodreads, Hard to Forget is a book two. According to me, I cry bullshit! The events in this book take place before the events in Hard to Hold - the alleged book one. Not that it really matters. Both books do very well as stand-alone reads. The same cast of main characters are in both books, but the stories are different and do not require the other book for understanding. The events of Hard to Forget are mentioned in Hard to Hold, but do not detract from that story at all. So go ...more

This fast paced action, suspense, romance will get your heart racing from the first page. A hero and heroine that at times you want to shake senseless and other times you want to say shut up and listen to each other!

Jack Ballentyne is a commander of a black ops unit with British Intelligence, known as The Assassins. He is a no nonsense agent, who likes his job, and killing bad guys. The only wrinkle in his life is the appearance of a rookie agent Lowry Fisk. She's bright, smart and single

This is definitely one book that is hard to forget! Overflowing with gripping suspense, incredible chemistry between the H/h, and deep dark emotions. The writing is fantastic with a fast pace that makes this book hard to put down. Put this one on the top of the tbr list, I highly recommend it.

****A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for an honest review****

The beginning of this book played out like a cannon shot a lead ball into my stomach. Dread iced my heart but I was hooked.

Lowry Fisk is a heroine who believes in doing what’s right, no matter the risks and naively believed that Jack Ballentyne would come for her, when in the end, he did and blew her world to shreds.

4 years later, a damaged Lowry is back putting her life together while walking a tightrope of feelings when

Hard to Forget is the second book in the Hard to Series by Incy Black. Hard to Hold is the first book and it’s Nick’s and Anna’s story, while Hard to Forget is about Jack and Lowry. Plus, Hard to Forget’s events are before Hard to Hold’s events!!! I wasn’t aware of that before I read Hard to Forget, but it didn’t stop me from absolutely loving it;hence following the story properly.

I LOVED the first book, Hard to Hold!! And I LOVED the second book, as well!!!

I will start by saying I received a copy of this book for review from Net Galley before I even knew what it was about. I knew nothing about this author, and there was no blurb to explain the plot. I simply requested a chance to read the book based on having previously really enjoyed books by this particular publisher. I'm am really glad I was approved to read this story. It was full of action, very suspenseful, and ultimately alpha. The book starts out by giving the background of Jack and Lowry, ...more

Gosh – this book certainly lives up to its title – it will certainly be hard to forget and will want to re-read in future. It pulls no punches in this tale of espionage, secret ops and the characters therein. Four years ago the heroine, Lowry Fisk, believed their was a mole in their operational team, the Assassins. Considered renegade because of these beliefs, she ended up being shot by her team leader, Major Jack Ballentyne, in an operation that went wrong and then he had her drummed out of the ...more

I read Hard to Forget straight on the heels of Hard to Hold and felt that this book, unlike the first, was spectacular in every way.

Black seems to have found a more balanced, grounded writing voice in this book, and the result is a gritty and absolutely riveting tale (with some ludicrous moments of hilarity and heavy irony) of betrayal, forgiveness and redemption between two people who have much to lose as well as gain by the end of the story.

This is one author I am so glad to have gotten to read because she knows how to write the kind of novels that are riveting not ordinary. This not your average special ops romance because this author delivers so much more. In this novel it is Major Jack and once was Special Agent Lowry. When you see what has occurred for her to no longer be that Special Agent you are only at the tip of it. Now trying to get on with her life (one gutsy lady to be sure) there will be others who have different plans ...more

Wow!

I think that just about sums it up, together with 5 glowing stars for this novel, Incy Black's second offering of the 'Hard to...' series.

I loved this novel, from start to finish, with its non-stop action and serious conflict between stubborn, impossible Jack-bloody-Ballentyne, and an equally loveable heroine to boot, who metaphorically speaking, definitely wears the boots when it comes to how to live her life. No-one tells Lowry-bloody-Fisk what to do, which is an absolute nightmare for

Lowry Fisk, Special Agent with the British Intelligence Service, had broken ranks and went undercover. She tried to tell anyone who would listen that there was a dirty agent somewhere high up in the Service but no one would listen. She'd been dubbed a conspiracy theorist. While undercover, horrible things happened to her and when the Service busted the skin trade op, she tried to go after the man who had hurt her. He got away and she was shot. Four years later, no longer an agent, she sees HIM ...more

This book was awesome! This is book two in the Hard to Series and it kept my attention from the first page, until I finished it. Former agent Lowry Fisk has been running from her past for years, she knows that there is a mole in the agency, and has been staying out of limelight so that the assassins can’t find her. She was on a mission and it went horribly wrong, she was shot by Jack who was a fellow agent because was trying to protect her. After she healed from the gunshot wound she was forced ...more

Wow! This is full-on hard-hitting James Bond/Secret Service/spy novel scrumptiousness. Hard to Forget is insanely good—even better than Hard to Hold—and Hard to Hold was pretty-darn good. In Hard to Forget, the snark from Ms Black’s first book is replaced with a sophisticated, all-consuming, white-hot tale of alpha male re-engaging with alpha female, to give thrilling page-turning addictive explosive chemistry. Right from the outset you are left in no doubt how completely impossible it would be ...more

Lowry used to be a special agent who was following her gut instinct. She was investigating a dirty agent, and ended up in an extremely horrible situation. She ends up getting raped, shot and kicked out of the Agency. The worst for her is that no one would believe her. She ends up in seclusion and labeled a bit of a nut case.

Jack used to be Lowry's commander and had a difficult time with the rest of the crew making fun of her behind her back. Jack has to touch base with her again, but doesn't

Lowry worked for the Service and had found out information confirming a human trafficking ring but couldn't get Jack or anyone else to hear her out about everything she had uncovered including a mole. She decided to go undercover on her own to rescue the captive women. When someone gives her up, she is raped and shot. Years later Jack comes back into her life because the mole is now coming after her.

This book far exceeded my expectations.
The tension between the characters of Lowry and Jack is enough to having you popping ativan to calm your nerves. Of course this all comes down to a desire so intense and hot a blast furnace couldn't contain the flames once ignited. But this is not just a romance. NO! We experience the elements of a rape, assassins, and a corrupt psychopath.
The author draws us into the different layers of her story with great detail and enticing characters.

ning of the book).

The bad: I found a couple of issues to stretch all credibility (given the sheer influence the major villain had, I'm a little skeptical about whether the heroine wouldn't have recognized him until she did, and the fact that she DIDN'T TELL ANYONE what had happened to her. I get her reasons, but I also don't find it believable that she wouldn't have said anything, even given her bad reputation at work).

Still, over all the good heavily outweighed the bad and I couldn't put this

I have read the first book in this series and this one was as intense. Right from the start, I was so enthralled with Lowry. Just felt so much compassion and protectiveness for her. She experienced so much trauma and fear along with feeling alone. My heart simply broke for her. And then there was Jack. I don't know how many times I rolled my eyes at him. He was so dang alpha and unbending. But throughout the story he grew on me and I did like him in the end.

The story itself was really good.

Calling all spy fans...

This was a sock to gut, rip-roaring thrill ride. Not only did the suspense have me on the edge of my seat, but the sexual chemistry between Jack and Lowry just blew me away. With grit, realistic characters, and Ms. Black's knack for drawing the reader into world of intrigue and espionage...her second book will be a hard one to forget.

Very pleasantly surprised by this book. Fast paced action and very well written, you can't help but keep reading! The tension and fighting between Jack and Lowry serve to add to the suspense. I loved the true to life feelings and emotions that resulted to misunderstandings between all of the characters.
