I've been reading right through this series and I have to admit that this is one of the books I've been waiting for. Kemble, oldest of the Tremaine children, is thirty-nine years old and still has not received his power. He's watched as several of his younger siblings have found their mates and he finally gives up. Heir apparent to the Tremaine empire and known as "The Prince of Wales" he decides that it's finally time to marry and give up on idea of magic and true love for him.

And the plot thickens. This one is a roller coaster. I’m going straight to the next book because I can’t wait to see what happens next.

NIGHT MAGIC is my first experience with Ms. Squires Children of Merlin series, an inventive take on the legacy of the wizard Merlin and Morgan Le Fay.

Kemble Tremaine is the eldest son of Brian and Brina Tremaine. The Tremaine’s have a magic gene passed down from Merlin. Each has someone out there who awakens their magic and mating heightens their senses and creates an incredibly strong bond between the two. Kemble, thirty seven, nicknamed The Prince of Wales as he’s next in line

I have to say, I like Susan Squires style! She breathes warmth, insecurity, love and danger all together and created some true magic. It is her ability to tell a tale and invite the reader into the middle of it that kept me reading and rooting for Kemble and Jane, who, at first blush, are only married out of convenience and necessity. Kemble only saw Jane as his sister’s friend; Jane has been in love with Kemble forever. Their tenuous exploration in their unusual marriage is the thing hearts mel ...more

I received the book from the touring host for an honest review.

Although I haven't read the previous books in the series, I caught on very quickly. But I do think to have read the whole series would have given me a better idea of the plot. With that said, I really enjoyed this book. The main characters were strong and believable as they discovered more about each other in a very interesting setting. Both Kemble and Jane found themselves often at a loss for words as they discovered each other as

"Night Magic" by Susan Squires. The love story of Kemble and Jane. She's a Plain Jane - shy, introvert but sweet and loving. Having been in love with Kemble for as long as she can remember, she accepts his proposal, even though it's more of a convenience than due to his undying love of her. Kemble, one of a family of Merlin the Magician's descendants, is depressed because he doesn't have "the magic". He's a bit stuffy and quite business like, especially in the beginning. But it's mostly due to h ...more

Night Magic by Susan Squires is the 4th book in her series entitled Magic. It is based around the Tremaine family who are descended from Merlin the Magician and they are still battling against Morgan and her minions.
Night Magic focuses on Kemble, the eldest sibling in the family and we see that he has not come into his powers in the start. The family comes into their powers as they meet their soul mates and Kemble

This is a story about Jane, a very shy, reserve woman. She loves Kemble, and he wants to make her his. Kemble though needs to have more confidence in himself. He comes from a long line of magicians, and he wonders why he is not like them. Kemble does propose to Jane and she accepts, because she does not see herself with anyone else, she loves him. I felt like I would have felt a little more understanding of the book if the other books. I was a little lost, but the author did

I liked Kemble and I guessed a couple of books ago who he was going to end up with. Here again is a well developed hero. Kemble has all kinds of doubts and insecurities. The romance was rather slighted in this one. It was there but the magic plot took over a bit here I think. The Clan got another Talisman of course and it becomes clear that it will all go down to a final showdown over the fourth one and the ceremony Morgan is planning.

Received a complimentary copy to read and review. Great book. I couldn’t put it down. The characters and the world that Susan has created are great. It has some great twists and turns. This is definitely one that should go a TBR list. You won’t be disappointed. I look forward to reading more of Susan’s books.

I love this series, and I'm so happy that Kemble and Jane finally got together. I did think the beginning was a bit under-cooked, but it found its footing. Looking forward to a real HEA for the entire Tremaine family at the end of this series!
