Briar Summers never thought she would end up in the creepiest house on the block in a city far away from her home. Florida’s sun doesn’t quite fit well with her pale skin and dark clothing, but the weather seems nice enough. After all, her life has been one roller coaster after another and she’s ready for things to change.
Cade Michaels seems like the perfect boy next door. He's attractive and the only other person in St. Augustine that sports the gothic style. The only thing is, there seems to be something he's hiding, and Briar can't put her finger on it.
Briar never expected to end up in a haunted house ready to claim her for its own devices.
It’s no longer easy to tell who’s alive and who’s not.
It’s no longer easy to decipher what’s black and white.
A ghostly shade of gray is all that’s left.
(this is a paranormal romance/horror/na crossover. Includes adult situations and not recommended for readers younger than 18)
So let me just say I didn't know if I would read this entire book. I started the first chapter and was like nope not going to do it. A few days later I started it again and couldn't put it down. Normally not my genre of book to read, but let me just say! It was Awesome!! I really loved the intense and mysteriousness of this book. Team Cade all the way!! this book is about love, trust and family. Briar and her family had just recently moved to Florida in a new house to start their life. Briar noticed something strange about her brother talking to invisible people. Going to the local college she made a few friends and was told by many that she lived in a haunted house. Not wanting to believe any of them she was soon spooked herself. Meeting Cade her so called next door neighbor was the highlight of her new living quarters. Not able to keep her mind off of him he vows to protect her and keep her safe. Can Cade keep his promise of keeping Briar safe? Can Briar give her heart and soul to Cade to protect? I am very, very happy I decided to read this book I hope you will like it as much as I did.
GREAT BOOK. I was lucky enough to get an arc copy of this book, from an author I haven't read before. I was blown away by how well the story was written and how absolutely thrilling it was to read. I really loved this book, the characters are great. I love Briar ,shes not your average main character but that's what makes her great and so fitting for this story. The plot is so unique and well developed, I appreciate the authors attention to detail. This is a must read paranormal! I enjoyed it so much I will be rereading it when it releases.
This wasn't my favorite, but not my least favorite. I like the haunted house vibes, but they talk about spirits in the house and the house wanting her, but they never really go in dept to that. I didn't like the ending that much. It's great that she got her happy ending in a way, but why are they able to go out into the world and be able to see seen and such. It was kind of weird.

I read Ghostly in one sitting, I just could not put it down. Briar is a teenager who has just moved to Florida, her gothic look doesn't really go so well in the sun or with her father. She wasn't expecting to be living in the creepiest house in the St. Augustine either. Just starting college she meets Celeste, Ryder and Mer. Ryder knows as soon as she is introduced as new what house she must live in and starts to ask her questions about it, but the other girls stop him from going into detail about it so he doesn't scare Briar. But Briar assures him that she doesn't scare easily so he fills her in on some of the house's history. After talking Briar into having a small party on Halloween, more people show up than Briar was expecting, and one of the guests is Cade. He is mysterious and he and Briar seem to have an attraction towards each other. So far he is the only other person in town that shares her love of gothic clothing too. After meeting and talking Briar really likes Cade but she feels that he is hiding something from her. Add that to the fact that she is living in a haunted house that apparently wants her to be it's next victim and her life is not as boring as she would like. Can Briar figure out what Cade is hiding? Will she fall victim to the house or can her friends protect her? You will have to read Ghostly to find those answers out. Brooke Kennedy does a great job of letting the reader get to know her characters. The relationships all seem genuine and real. This was a different kind of story than I am used too, but I fell in love with the world and the characters.
Ghostly is a paranormal romance with horror mixed in. The main character is Briar, she doesn't seem to fit into the Florida lifestyle with her gothic clothing and pale skin. Her life has been a constant roller coaster and she's ready for a change but is she ready for what lies waiting in their creepy new house?
Cade seems like the perfect boy next door. He's attractive and the only other person in town that is gothic. Briar knows he's hiding something but she can't figure out what it is.
This was a good paranormal romance. I loved the writing style; it flowed smoothly and was a good quick read. This book is about family, love and trust. You know that Briar loves her family; that is the reason she moved to Florida to be with her dad and little brother. She goes to college and for the first time in a long time she meets a group of people and they become great friends. Her little brother talks to "imaginary" people on their new house. She meets Cade in the basement and is skeptical of how he got in the house, in fact he is very mysterious. Cade promises to keep her safe but can Briar learn to trust him enough to give him her heart? I would recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal romance novels; this is a perfect read for Halloween.
I received an Arc from the author and I'm giving my honest review.
I liked the book and I really fell in love with Briar, she is a girl who likes to do things her way and push limits with her dad.
I can relate to Briar too because I'm misunderstood a lot just like her. I can't see death or ghosts but still relate to get on every other level.
Cade is hot!! A boy who falls in love with a human but keeps secrets from her to keep her safe. He should just tell her but no he has that protectiveness that every guy thinks they have to do.
I like the house that Briar and her family moved into but I think there should be more back story to it and why it likes to have people die there. What is the history to it? I feel that it was not explained enough in the book and the same goes with the spell book that Meredith finds.
Overall this is a great book that pulls you in. I couldn't put it down even though I had to work. Briar is a smart girl who loves a ghost and can see the dead. Will her love prevail for Cade?

Unexpected twists and turns await on each page in this wonderful book. I was lucky enough to be given an ARC copy of this book and would definitely buy a copy to keep. Brooke Kennedy did an amazing job of combining a scary story with a tender love story. Briar is a tough, independent goth girl who genuinely loves her family and wants what's best for them. When her little brother starts talking to his "imaginary" friends, Briar wonders if there is more to it than his imagination, especially when the house tries to cut her. Briar makes some real friends and is hopeful of having a normal life. Then she learns that her house is haunted and things start to make sense. She meets Cade in her basement and he claims to still have a key from when he lived there. She and Cade are drawn to each other and Cade promises to protect Brair. But can he? The house gets what the house wants and it wants Brair.
I am not usually someone who reads horror, even when romance is involved but I couldn't put this book down. I was a beta reader back in July and read it on my flight home from my honeymoon. My husband was teasing me the entire time that I was more interested in it than him.
Briar is an emotionally scarred girl who doesn't fit in anywhere until she meets Cade. They each have their own secrets and each page only makes you want to find out more about them. I laughed and I cried and I couldn't put it down. Very well written and fun to read (more than once ^_^ ).
I was lucky enough to get to beta read this book and watch it go from a short story and develop into something much more. Briar moves to FL to be with her dad and brother, but ends up finding out that this new home has a deep and deadly secret. Eerie feelings and flying objects. Her house is haunted, and the strange boy inside protects her, and makes her feel less along in the world. Recommended to all American Horror Story fans.
I got this book directly from Brooke Kennedy for an honest review. so here it is... This book is the biggest roller coaster of emotions. its got passion and yet my heart was still breaking. reading was sometimes intense where the story was taking you. int he end i felt a pane of sadness for what wwas happening. glad i got to read this book thank you so much Brooke =)
I recieved a copy of this book for an honest review. I gave it 4 stars because it took me awhile to get into it in the beginning. I also had a hard time with the whole relationship with a ghost! Once I got into the story, I wad hooked. Very different and very well written. I definitely want to read Cade's POV because I feel there is a lot there he didn't tell Briar!
I love writing this book! It was my first stab at a horror novel, I'm used to doing paranormal and romance but adding that horror aspect was different. I hope you guys enjoy! <3
