I haven’t read the first book, so the second one is about Paige embracing her destiny –to be a fighter for the Light. Yet, the book didn’t appeal to me for several reasons. It didn’t grab me and I had to force myself to finish it.

Too many details –she woke up, stretched, brushed her teeth, put on her clothes, combed her hair, instead of she got ready. Paige seems to go for walks out of the blue and encounter things out of the blue too. Too much crying. Things drag and languish, then pick

Lee Bice-Matheson's second book is even better than the first!
This story draws you in from the start with seemingly unending thrills so vividly described that you almost feel like you are with Paige through it all! I think this book is perfect for young adults. The writing style is relatable and uses humour, while still truly capturing the overanalyzing mind of a young girl. Can't wait for the next book!

This creative, fantasy-adventure novel is actually a how-to handbook on learning to conquer all evil forces with love. Spiritual people, lightworkers and angels all do their part to make the world a better place for all. The dark, evil forces however, try to lure people with greed and ego who have low energy and poor role models in their lives. Paige is a lovely spiritual person who cares about everyone, but after turning seventeen she realizes she is developing abilities for helping anyone in n ...more

Destiny’s Gate is a powerful book whose title alone pulls the reader in. This special book is introduced with intrigue and conviction reminding us why we love the protagonist. Fans of the series will find this installment continues to bring the cast of characters vividly to life! Readers will be engaged through Paige’s unwavering courage and determination while being spiritually enlightened right along with her. The conclusion is extremely moving and leaves the reader wanting more from Lee and J ...more

Although I haven't read the first book before this one, I did find this book quite easy and quick to read. The concept behind it was a really intriguing one and I found Paige to be an interesting character... though I do think the book slipped into third person for one scene and then back to first, which was quite distracting when it happened.

I did think there was a lot going on in this

Even after reading the first book in this series and not liking it I had high hopes that this book would deliver the excitement and creep factor that I was hoping for. Unfortunately I was left feeling unenthusiastic and tired after struggling through this book. I had hoped that since the book was longer it wouldn't feel as rushed as the first book but it ended up feeling l

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

After reading Wake Me Up Inside earlier this year, I was interested to see where Paige’s adventures were going to take her next. One of my problems with the first book was that I felt it moved a little too quickly, so I was happy to see that this book was quite a bit longer. I think this book went the opposite way to the first one in the sense that it probably could have done wit

This book is about a teenage girl trying to understand religion and reality and how the two mix. She sees things, hears things and has a misunderstanding or two. Her family keeps saying they will help but no one seems to actually tell her anything. I found that the conclusion was a true AHA moment that made the book worth reading.
