Oh Dixie Brown, she's done it once more! Tempt the Night is spicy with the perfect amount of hot sauce! The last book in the "Trust No One" series, Dixie drags us into an exhilarating tale of an alpha male with serious issues and a strong female that's gotten herself into a real mess. I've read all of this series, and Dixie's writing style and character development are absolutely fantastic. Jim Brady (Brady) and Sam McCallister (Mac) are both complicated characters that suck you in from the acti ...more

Wow! What a ride this series has offered. From the pages of the first book to the thrilling and emotional conclusion of Tempt The Night, I may never look at romance the same! The action packed adventure kept me on the edge of my seat and the firery romance had me reaching for something to cool down with! Fantastically balanced with enough twist and turns to keep you guessing! The character development was so artful and deep throughout, I feel as if I have added more friends to my circle! I am not sure what I expected from this story but it was surprisingly more than what I thought! Dixie definitely knows how to pack the suspense and adventure into a good story. Add the right amount of romance and it makes for a great story!

Mac is a young lady that works for the Alaska State Troopers as a dispatcher. She has a good friend, Paddy that is a State Trooper and she decides to do a ride along with him one night. Mac has no idea that her life is about to chance when she goes with Paddy

Thanks to Dixie Lee Brown, Tasty Book Tours and Edelweiss for providing the opportunity to read and review this amazing story. I have been hooked on the Trust No One series for a while now and I was hooked with this one as well. My deepest apologies to Ms. Brown and Tasty Book Tours for not having the review ready for the tour. This book hit so close that I was struggling to figure out how to write the review. I am still not sure that I can do a review justice, but I am going to try.

Tempt the Night by Dixie Lee Brown is a 2015 Avon Impulse publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

This story starts off with an unexpected emotional punch that sets the tone for the entire book. Mac and Jim form one of those instant bonds and they know they can trust one another. But, Mac is on the run from the law and Jim has a horrifying past which left him with severe PTSD. Often when we read about PTSD the focus is on t

This mystery is one of the best that I have read in a long time. Follow Mac around while she try to solve a murder and attempts to clear her name of murder. She has help that she never would have thought possible only a few hours before. See who helps her and why. Men, a small child, and women will help her out as much as they can

Tempt the Night begins with a bang (or several) literally and the action just keeps on. Samantha “Mac” McCallister is in the wrong place at the wrong time, a witness to the murder of her friend, an Alaskan state trooper by his colleagues and is forced to go on the run. Framed for murder, she is now being hunted by both the law and the bad guys. A last-minute lifeline from her friend leads her to Jim Brady. Jim is a former Navy SEAL now working as a private contractor. On a trip to Alaska to find ...more

First thought: Holy S***!

I wasn't expecting danger and action in the first chapter. We first meet Mac and she's on a ride along with her best friend Paddy. Things start to go down from there, and Mac finds herself in deep trouble. Nothing like getting chased by dirty cops and finding oneself with hot guy you know nothing about. So, throughout the story you watch Mac put her faith in Brady who she knows nothing about, but she feels safe with him.

Seriously, Tempt the Ni

Tempt The Night is the final book in the Trust No One series by Dixie Lee Brown. It can be read as a stand alone novel or in series order. This book will not disappoint. It is action packed, immersed in thrilling suspense, and has a red hot romance.

This book is well written with charismatic characters that encompass the traits readers love. Who doesn’t like an alpha man that has issues but still is able to draw upon his personal strengths ? The leading lady has strength, guts, and the right amo

Another good one from Brown. This one focuses on the mysterious Brady, PTSD sufferer and lethal member of Joe Reynolds' team. Jim is in the Pacific Northwest to track down Maria, missing since the end of book 4, Whatever it Takes. Jim runs across "Mac" McCallister, best friend of Patrick Callahan, who also has ties to Maria. When Paddy gets shot, Mac is in trouble because she sees the crime and the criminals. Escaping won't be easy, but Mac has Jim Brady on her side.

This one takes some turns and

I was surprised by the twist at the end, and now I want to know what happens next! Brady & Mac are a great couple. She is just what he needs to help him deal with his PTSD. The mystery of who is after Mac is revealed early on the book, so there is not a lot of suspense, but there are a lot of sad moments. This can be read as a standalone, but I enjoyed it enough that I want to to back and read the previous books.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

This was so awesome. Pulled me right in and I couldn't put it down. Always a twist and a turn around every corner. Full of action and steam. Best combo. The end threw me for a loop. Never saw it coming. Can't wait for the next one.

Steamy romance & tightly written suspense!

A fantastic romantic suspense, showcasing incredibly chemistry between the hero and heroine, sharp suspense, and moments of deep emotional impact. Don't miss out on any of Ms. Brown's books!
Loved this one. I think it was the best in the series and it really had my emotions going from laughter to almost tears. I'm soo sad that there aren't going to be any more.

Tempt the Night starts out with a bang and continues to deliver a great balance of heart thumping suspense, wrenching emotions and spicy romance. My favorite of the Trust No One series titles I've read so far, I look forward to reading the remaining stories and spending more time with this band of complex heroes and their strong heroines.

Brady and Mac's story held a great deal of angst. In the beginning you cannot help but get chocked up, then you recoup and are at the edge of your seat. Then you are chocked up again. All in all out was really good. And finally we know that Joe and Cara have a daughter and what her name is. It only took two stories to find out.

Now y Ann going we can get Paddy's story and Sanchez.

My gosh. This book hooked me from the first page. Action that sets my heart to racing and keeps me reading, because I HAVE to know what happens. A swoon-worthy sexy hero. A heroine I can relate to and really feel for. And emotion that leaps off the pages and grabs me by the heart. And a sexy hero. Did I mention the hero is sexy? Jim Brady seriously needs to be real. lol A fantastic read.

Definite spoiler-filled review!

I wanted to like this book. I started out liking this book. The emotional hit in the beginning made me want to learn more about the villain and see him meet justice, but I didn’t really enjoy getting there. The heroine, Mac, vacillated between unendurable grief for her friend and smiling/laughing/flirting/lusting with the hero, Brady. I understand that she couldn’t be depressed and crying the whole time, but it was like one second she’d be crying her eyes out and t

2.5 Stars. I wanted to like this book more than I did. It's the fifth book in the Trust No One series and although it continues a little bit of the story from the 4th book you could read it as a stand alone. I really enjoyed the beginning of this book and enjoyed Mac's character and felt the emotion when her best friend was killed. Mac states several times that she isn't super brave and it was nice having a heroine who wasn't completely competent and independent in the middle of a crises. Then s ...more

I liked much of the writing and the characterization in this novel, which was the first book from this author I'd read. Yet...there were several times when I thought the character's actions were completely off. Maria just matter of factly getting on with her life, actually smiling at Mac the morning after she hears Patrick, who she is totally in love with, dies? Marco bouncing out of bed the morning after his mother is killed? Patrick flirting with the nurse mere hours after his secret wife is m ...more

This was really good. The writing was excellent, the plot was well thought out and I liked the character development of Jim and Mac a lot (although I thought Mac was a bit of a damsel in distress for a lot of the book). My only criticism was that it ended rather abruptly and really didn't read like it was concluding a series (which it is according to the author's website), but appeared to be setting up new characters with stories to tell.
