This book needs to be read with an open mind! It would also help if the reader is not involved in politics. I ran for the Board of Education in my town and was the Secretary of the Republican Town Committee. I am now a democrat. With that being said I think that I can look at the middle road and review this book honestly. This book is either going to get high praise or it will tick some people of. That is the way of politics. However the author gives facts and graphs to his arguments and even gives his sources. There is even a stupidparty quiz to test yourself! This would be a great book for a research paper because the author links all his information and even color codes his book. The author tackles hot topic issues like guns to jobs and the economy. He also throws in some things to keep a lighter mood, like a crossword puzzle and cartoons. I give the author a lot of credit for compiling so much data. This is definitely a book to read and ponder. I am giving this book a 5/5. I may not agree with all his statements, but the format, and the topic is very interesting to me. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.

What a joy to read. A conservative slamming his party during and right after the 2012 elections in which Obama won a second term. The things he is angry with here are things that seem to have only gotten worse with the current administration. If anything the real difference is how much more out in the open the Republican party is in regards to their complete disregard for the people that vote and support them.

In reading this book the author is not trying to get the Party faithful to give up on and jump on the Democrat party bandwagon. Instead, he is advocating taking control away from Big Interests and Corporate Money, so that the ideals of the Conservative Republican party once again come to the fore.

I would really enjoy finding a book like this for the Democratic party as well.

Stupidparty Math v. Myth relies on documented facts, resources and tools to deconstruct and relentlessly drill down on the numerous misconceptions spouted to the public by too many Republicans. Stupidparty positions defrocked on: the "moochers”, the economy, climate change, gun control, environmental stewardship, racism, religion, “freedoms”, gun culture, ignorance-based humor and numerous other issues. Also included are 1,055 full color images and 121 graphs and charts. I don't consider myself to have a political affiliation although over the years I have voted for more Democrats than Republicans. Andendall put a considerable amount of research into this book which shows through the links and resources listed. He covers so many misconceptions from incarceration rates, foreign policy, healthcare. economy and even the actual economic agenda of the Republican party. I was a little shocked and disappointed by how much of what I had automatically dismissed, for example birther theories, actually had such a strong following. The author did an outstanding job with several issues like the voter system restrictions in providing good info. I wholeheartedly agree with Andendall that more fact checking needs to be done and not just blind belief. I felt the book was long and struggled to get through because I felt overloaded with info. I would recommend this book for political science majors and anyone who is interested in politics because it is a good knowledgeable resource of facts v fiction.

When you read anything with any kind of political bend to it, you always have to know where the author is coming from, and what their intentions are. In this particular case, the author is a conservative, that isn't exactly in line with the Republican party as it stands right now. And while it is "his party", and he can cry if he wants to, he goes after the shortcomings and issues of his own party (or, more specifically, the extreme right-wing Republicans), with ACTUAL FACTS!?!?! Well, I never!

While there are a lot of different quotes and ideas shared in this book, that are, for the most part, taken completely out of context in order to make the point of the book, what you are really coming for is the math itself. Quotes are an easy thing to spin whatever way you want them to, but numbers are much more black and white. Sure, there could still be a little bit of wiggle room, but it is refreshing to see cold hard facts in the world of politics.

But overall, I think that, whatever party you affiliate yourself with, you will get some enjoyment out of this, or even learn something. It also serves as a very real look at how even cold hard facts can be misconstrued, and slanted, to fit any persons needs. I recommend you check it out!

Eye Opening

A worthwhile read. Some chapters go into minutiae and some can cause you to go into some rabbit holes. Book is written to bring some humor/irony on practically every page.

'60% of daily viewers of Fox News believe most scientists do not agree that climate change is occurring'

Author Patrick Andendall has lived on both sides of the pond and though trained in the UK and having absorbed the qualities of British governance first hand, he then moved to the US (he currently lives on Long Island, NY) and has always had an interest in politics and is able to he view issues from a more international perspective. In 2004, five days before the election, he flew to Cleveland and pitched in to help with the political process. What he discovered was the dissolution of the American Dream, which he writes about in his book, STUPIDPARTY.

Andendall's book will like become a controversial one (we can hope) in that it examines the decline and slippage of the Republican Party (thanks to the Tea Party constituency and other boorish factors/blunders by very public figures) into what Andendall has labeled the Stupidparty.

What happens in this hilarious diatribe of the current sludge that surrounds the shoes of the Republican Party is a series of statements made by real people in real time and in real places that confuse facts with myths and quote absurd numbers in `data' that in the context of this book are show to be preposterous. It is brimming over with cartoons, photographs, graphs, maps, data comparisons and quotes that serve to crystallize the author's points. He is careful to document everything in the book with readily accessible source information that is easily clickable.

Andendall takes on Stupidparty information on the denial of the environmental crisis, the gun lovers, religious malapropisms, the disparity in the rich /poor division, the misquotes about numerous obvious misconceptions, racism, Obama as a Muslim/'below average intelligence' immigrant, Fox News and how it alters truth to sell ads (`Fox viewers are less informed than people who watch no news'), and on and on. Oddly, Addendall is a conservative and a member of the Republican Party and is bemoaning the fact that his Party has well earned the moniker Stupidparty. He seems to be pleading for intelligence and common sense and observation of reality facts in an attempt to bring the party back to credibility. Hilarious book that will send many people on that side of the gully into fits.

I am not a political person, nor do I really follow politics, but this book sure did keep me interested. Although it is Republican based, Patrick Andendall has a very witty sense of humor and this book is fantastically written in a way which had me open to new ideas and contemplating his perception of things. The use of comics at the beginning of the chapters had me chuckling and anticipating what I would read in the following chapter instead of just flipping through page after page of words, words, and more words. I would highly recommend this book to anyone regardless of your party affiliation because of the introduction of ideas. Even if you are not a Republican I feel it is worth a read because it is always good to see how other people view things.

SO I am not someone who normally reads any type of political book. But this one was really good. I did not feel like I was reading a book bashing republicans. Everything was backed up with research. So many of the points that were made really struck me. I felt that I needed to take more time and invest in knowledge of who we vote for.
Many of the points that he makes are things that you never realized. How far many of these "republicans" have strayed from doing what is actually best for the people. I found myself agreeing being excited about what I can do with the knowledge and who I could recommend this book to. Such an awesome book. It definitely needs to be read, even if politics are not something you find and interest in.

Well written

The book “ Stupiparty Math v. Myth:Unmasking the Destructive Forces Eroding American Democracy ( Stupid Party land Book 1) was extremely well written but it is not by any means unbiased. I will start off by stating I do consider And as myself a republican HOWEVER there are many times in history I shake my head think “ wow !!!!” I have not become partial to any of our Presidents as or Presidential candidates in years but that is on all sides I have been open to voting for others but there just hasn’t been a candidate in “the race” that was Desirable in quite a while. I say al of that to state I was open to the title and description of this book despite any affiliation I may have. The author Patrick M Annandale began with referencing a 2013 statement given by an “ up and coming “ Bobby Jindal: “‘We’ve got to stop being the stupid party,’ Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, one of the GOP’s brightest young stars, said in a much-anticipated speech last week at the party’s winter meeting. ‘We’ve got to stop insulting the intelligence of voters. We need to trust the smarts of the American people.’” http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2...
The Author Annandale referenced this factual occurrence and then stated other people’s documented “opinions “, this was pretty much how each chapter in this book continued. The author gives facts throughout the book that a reader may or may not already be aware of and continues to establish the factual occurrence by stating documented opinions, However the author writes with humor as a strong undertone which I quite enjoyed. I love a good sarcastic quip, very “Daria” like , steadfast to my 1990’s roots. Annandale provided this type of a look into the Republican Party in this book and provided several moments you can’t help but laugh at no matter which “ side” you affiliated to. I finished the book quite happy with the manner it was written and the only reason I did not allow all five stars was I felt the title misleading. The title Stupiparty Math v. Myth:Unmasking the Destructive Forces Eroding American Democracy ( Stupid Party land Book 1) seemed to elude to some secret forces that the normal every day American was not already aware of tearing apart DEMOCRACY as a whole. As I read the book no matter how enjoyable or entertaining it did not provide what the title claimed. The “ Unmasking “ was clearly documented occurrences that any Person can find on the internet, and Democracy as a whole is not being torn apart in my “ OPINION” because Democracy is defined as: “democracy, literally, rule by the people. The term is derived from the Greek dēmokratia, which was coined from dēmos (“people”) and kratos (“rule”) in the middle of the 5th century BCE to denote the political systems then existing in some Greek city-states, notably Athens. “ in the Britainica.com definition page, and I “ felt” was proven in this book. Democracy is upheld by “ people’s opinions” and the ability to express them and I felt this book was a factual , but entertaining and well written, documentation of the author’s options not an “unmasking of eroding forces” as the title states. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone of the Democratic affiliation or any one open to a political book with out being easily offended if someone does not agree with your own political views and opinions. God Bless you, God Bless your family, and God Bless America!

I read Book 3 of this series and just like that one, it took me a couple of starts to read this book. The third try worked after I dropped all my preconceived notions of the Republican Party. (I am an Independent). I still do not agree with him in many ways, but I put everything aside just to read it. This book is one long reason why the Republican Party does not work. In my opinion he backs this with facts, it is still his opinion. I find him using revisionist history with quotes for the Republicans while using the Democratic word as fact.
I gave this book 4 stars instead of 1 star and am amazed I did it. I did it because I enjoyed the book. I love a good comedy especially when the author is bending facts to his/her point. It is not easy to be unbiased in any situation, that is why people have opinions.
I believe in many of the Republican ideas and am not a fan of the Democratic Party, but I still am an Independent. I decided to just read it like Book 3, and it was pithy, funny and at times, I did laugh. It was good read. I always think it is good comedic reading when people are so biased, I’m amazed they can stand up straight.
Andendall is a particularly good writer with a sense of humor that does not offend or tries to make those who do not believe the way he does feel stupid. All countries have different ideas on how things should be run, and the United States is no different. Every four to eight years either the Circus comes to town or we are on a donkey farm. We have checks and balances that are in place to make sure things are fair and unbiased which we all know does not always work (according to the losing party) but I digress.
In writing this book and from his biography knowing he has written others on this same subject, Andendall has a unique perspective in that he has live in several countries and observed their politics so he has seen the good, bad and the ugly before coming here to the United States. That helped him explain with facts and clarity, why he does not think our way works best. In the future, I will read his other books.

Ha, ha, but not so funny if you are actually a card-carrying member of the Stupidparty

In addition to the humor and the detailed information about how things got so, so stupid, there are the many links that Andendall provides to support his thesis. Those links demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt that something horribly wrong has happened to the Republican Party.
The “Math v. Myth” in the title refers to what I think is most ignominious failure of today’s Republican Party, a political party that once attracted the better educated elements of the electorate. What happened?

Well, it’s complicated but a big factor is the fact that the Dixiecrats who once voted overwhelmingly for George Wallace and other conservative and racist Democrats are now mostly Republicans. The main result of this is that the “myths” of racism and sexism along with a lot of willful ignorance have supplanted the “math” of science and education.

This book is an illustrated, textual, linked-up entire course on what has gone wrong and why. There are tables comparing the once Grand Old Party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Eisenhower with today’s embarrassment featuring the likes of George W. Bush, Dick Chaney, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Bobby Jindal, Mitch McConnell, et al.

The way the Republican Party has caved into ignorance and stupidity is almost beyond belief except that, hey, that is the way to win local elections in certain gerrymandered districts. In the final analysis it is the electorate that is stupid, and that even includes a lot of Democrats. The Stupidparty is just a symptom of a larger problem: the dumbing down of America which is the goal of the one percent who are effectively in charge. They want to stay in charge and the way to do that is to foster a fat, docile, malleable and relatively uneducated populous whom they can manipulate through their control of governments (local, state and national), wages, media and advertising.

This was a voluntary review of a GoodReads giveaway win of a Kindle ebook.

Originally published in 2014. References are a bit dated, but still relevant. It could be rewritten/updated to reflect current events, not that things have changed much. (More like they have gotten worse?)

Read this on your computer or smartphone with an internet connection. There are numerous hyperlinks to the source material of the items.

Andendall states he is a Conservative Republican. His target audience are other Republicans who have some logic skills and will listen to reason. He is not trying to win over the other two thirds to the further "right" Republicans who have just stopped listening or reasoning and are blindly placing their faith in the party leaders.

I can't say the author has great writing skills since mostly he has gathered sources together and presented it in this bundle.

I am much more middle of the road and I'm looking for both sides of the issues and basing my decisions on the facts. Andendall points out that the argument against "fact driven" decisions just makes me a "commie s-o-b" and I should be voted against, regardless of which way I vote.

Up until recently, I never really grasped how much MONEY drives our political system. I have always placed faith in our leaders to do the right thing "for the people".

I do question the name calling use of "sheeple". Just which sheeple are calling which other sheeple?

More recently I would describe "Americans" act the same way that they drive their vehicles. "I know the rules of the road, but they surely don't apply to me. So, get out of my way as I drive pedal to the metal because my destination is the only acceptable and important place I need to be." Well, some of use are still courteously trying to see that we all make it to Grandma's house on time for that family dinner.

Stupid Party Math v Myth unmasking the destructive forces eroding American Democracy relies on publicly available facts, resources, and tools to deconstruct and relentlessly drill down on the numerous misconception held by too many Republicans. Patrick Andendall defrocks position on moochers, the economy, climate change, environmental stewardship, racism, religion, "Freedoms", guns and ignorance-based humor. Once discerning American's understand the destructive forces manipulate their views, they will begin to call for a stop for the stupid party that has invaded out politics and poisoned our political views.
Mr. Andendall humor and facts help you realize that not everything is as it seems with the Republican Party. His book made me laugh and think about conservative viewpoint in modern politics and how that even though Republicans may have the "in" on the conservative movement they may not have the conservative viewpoint in mind when they are working for the party. He references several conservatives such a Regan, Hagee and Limbaugh that point out that Republicans have become the Stupid Party over the years, and that they don’t always show there best foot forward for modern conservatives whose views may not be the same as theirs. The graphics help bring his point across and help illustrate the numerous times that they have put their foot in it. I would recommend this book for those who want to further understand the changes that have occurred over the years and how not all things are as they seem. You need to read this book with an open mind and understand that Mr. Andendall worked with what was out there not just on his own thoughts. So when reading the book you need to know that sometimes everyone can make anything worse by there own truths put into any political motives that are not necessarily good for the nation and its people as a whole.

This is the first book in the StupidParty series that deals with politics in the United States with a focus on myths that are countered by statistics that disprove them. Many of the graphs and statistics are from 2012-2013, but are still very relevant to the current political landscape.
Andendall writes that Republican Bobby Jindal from Louisiana was the one who came up with the term "StupidParty", which the author uses to refer to the new version of the Republican Party.  He writes that this book is not against the Republican Party, but that he wants to save the Party and feels it is moving in the wrong direction.
Having grown up in England and now living in the U.S. has given the author a more international perspective on politics.  The characteristics that Andendall most dislikes are dishonesty, hypocrisy and stupidity.  In Chapter 1 there are many quotes provided that are from members of the GOP and conservative journalists.  Some of the quotes may make some readers scratch their heads and think, (Did they really say that?).
Chapter 3 has some percentages from polls taken in 2012 on various topics such as, evolution, global warming and guns. From the research that the author gatheres, he found Evangelicals take voting very seriously.  Some might even say that they vote religiously and are more likely to vote Republican.
Chapter 6 discusses voter suppression and lists the seven tactics that are used by lawmakers to make it more difficult for voters to participate in our Democracy.  These tactics are currently being implemented in Florida, Texas and other States.  There are many other interesting topics that are covered and this is a good book for anyone who enjoys their political literature with a dash of wit and humor thrown in.

Patrick Adendall's "Stupidparty Math v. Myth" comes across as an informal education in politics. Particularly Republican Party politics. This book is written for anyone already involved in politics, has an interest in politics, or just plain curious. I fall in the latter category. In his introduction, the author states that his intent is not about trying to destroy the Republican Party, but about saving it. My curiosity was increased by this bold assertion.

Much of the book is backed up by factual yet stupid and laughable remarks made by educated Republican officials. Hence the title "Stupidparty" originally coined by former Louisiana governor, Bobby Jindal who also happens to be a Republican. Further documentation is presented in graphs, charts, and silly cartoons to prove how voters have been deceived time and time again by trusted Republicans in office.

Honestly I don't know how Adendall intends to save the Republican Party by revealing its many flaws. Admittedly, I now have a better understanding of how the Party's impractical policymaking is widely accepted by those who share their views. The author offers ao nuch information on the in some chapters that it becomes mind-boggling. Nonetheless, it is quite interesting ro learn about how the Republican Party really operates.

My favorite part of the book was the political biographies of various Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates presenting the good, the bad, and the ugly of each person. While some of the political jargon was lost on me, I find that this book would make a good resource for anyone planning to vote in the 2020 elections.

This book is so full of statistics that it makes me want to carry it around so I can pull it out when faced with people who want to argue with me about things like the value of government or climate science. Although some of what is written is tongue in cheek, I did not find anything humorous about this book. It is a complete compilation showing that our country is being controlled by money and that a large portion of our population can’t take the time to understand why and how they are being manipulated.

If you’ve ever felt that just maybe, the Republican Party is not working towards your best interests, please read this book. I was put off by the name of the book, and I found myself a bit confused as to where this book was going and for whom it was intended, but the deeper I got into it, the more I found myself agreeing, shaking my head in disbelief and even becoming angry at the amount of stupidity the author has documented.

I’m not sure this book would change any of the diehard right wingers, (and the author acknowledges this) and I doubt that the people who need to read this book the most will ever pick it up, still it is so full of facts and figures, it is hard not find it a compelling and damning report on how the GOP got to where it is and why it needs to change if it wants to survive. So if you have ever had even a slight feeling of doubt, please give this book a look. I think you will find it a fascinating and enlightening read.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. I do not align myself to any political party, and after reading this book I feel that having only two parties to choose from is going to kill this wonderful country. The quotes and graphs in the book show how the Republican party relies on their own beliefs and feelings and will look away from science and facts. Many of the graphs show how the democratic party has more education and will therefore believe the facts, but personally I have to wonder if there are some out there that secretly believe what the Republicans are telling the public thus hiding their true selves. This book was written before President Trump took office but I find it humorous that everything that describes the Republican party is a true representation of him. We as a represented public need to be able to trust our representatives that they are doing what is best for all of us. Unfortunately, as this book shows, many in the Republican party are not looking for what is best for the majority of people and the world we live in. We all need to open our minds and read this book and start seeking the real truth. In the world we live in today, we need to be able to rely on people who have studied and trained, not on the words of people who have no special knowledge, they just hold an office of power in our government. Read this book, and let’s rid the country of the acts of the StupidParty.

Worth the read

Before reading this book, I was curious about the Republican party and how they got the moniker "The Stupidparty." I now realize that the goals and overall effort of the Republican party is subpar to say the least. After reading this book, I will be paying more attention to politics. The author does a great job of gathering information and citing sources. This book includes quotes, said by Republicans, that show their mistakes and lack of education on certain matters.  He wants to save the Republican party from it's downward spiral.

One of the points addressed in this book is that many of the Republicans are very religious and a majority of them do not even believe in evolution. Democrats are mostly liberal and believe in more scientific explanations. According to some studies, a large part of the Republican voters are uninformed about the issues this country faces.

Included in this book are comics, graphs, and even a crossword puzzle which lightens the theme. I liked this book a lot, even though I wasn't very interested in anything political. Some of the things discussed are religion, education, racism, history, science, poverty, global warming and the economy. I never lost interest. Whether you are interested in politics or not, or whether you agree with the author or not, this is worth the read.

Rehash of liberal smears and talking points

Repeats of years of liberal smears, half truths and lies, by a liberal pretending to be a Republican. Somehow he never has noticed Democrat lies: he'll quote an article saying both parties lie but only go on to list Republican statements. He has not noticed that the mainstream media, both the U.S. and foreign he loves to quote, have very low credibility now. They covered up Hillary Clinton's campaign paying for the false Russia gate dossier, the media full blown repeating of the charges, twisting of his statements, downplaying of accomplishments, lying about Hunter Biden's computer and what it exposed about payoffs to the Biden family, including China. Even when VICE-president under Obama he bragged about about getting a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating a Hunter connected firm FIRED. Never mentioned by this author.

Scary and depressing all at once. Especially since this book was published (about 8 years ago), the Stupidparty has turned up the batshit crazy knob to 12. Sometimes it was odd to see names of folks that are still around today pushing the same old 1% agenda.

I don't think anyone that can't at least entertain the idea about some of the facts about climate change, trickle down economics, and other conservative viewpoints will be convinced after reading this. Science, evidence, and even past experiences don't seem to hold any credence with Stupidparty Disciples and that's the way that the Benfactors want it and are trying to keep it.

My only consolation is that I'm old enough to likely not be around for the upcoming climate-driven end of the human race.

Strong discussion of current issues

The author is a conservative but dont call him a republican. The Republican party has lost it's way, full of people that endorse islamophobes, bigots, and fully embrace extreme party stances. The author gives us the history of the republican party and how he believes it all went wrong. He provides colorful graphics, thoughtfully designed arguments and he hopes it will motivate you to rethink your positions on many issues. I liked that he didn't just say what was wrong, he gave suggestions on how to fix it, or how to balance issues with compromises. A very good for this year before the midterms.

A witty and wise guide to political clarity...

"Stupidparty Math v. Myth: Unmasking the Destructive Forces Eroding American Democracy" by Patrick M. Andendall offers a sharp critique of the modern Republican Party. Andendall, with wit and intellectual rigor, dissects the party's shift towards ideological extremism and its impact on American democracy. With clarity and humor, the book uses cartoons, graphs, and visuals to make complex issues accessible. Andendall meticulously documents his claims, urging critical thinking in political discourse. While polarizing, the book is a vital read for those seeking to understand and address the forces undermining democracy. Highly recommended.

The main problem with this book was that it was published in 2014 before Trump, before the StupidParty devolved into full-blown Idiocracy. Despite being out of date, it wasn’t that interesting, mainly lots and lots of quotes. The author says that he wrote it for the 33.3% of Republicans who still accept facts like global warming is real and unfettered tax cuts are bad. These are probably people who vote Republican for tax cuts and ignore the loonies. They aren’t going to rebel against the 66.7%.

Eye opener

Just wanted to first say that I received this as a giveaway from goodreads.

I must say that lately I do not align myself with the Republican Party and this book really hits the nail on the head capturing the reasons why. This book outlines the issues that the party faces and continues to face due to the lack of educated people taking the reigns and correcting the false information out there. This book has been an eye opener and hopefully a que to many republicans to correct the mistakes of previous years and get out of the “stupid party” ways.

There are a lot of controversial review for this book, but I liked it. I think this is one you just have to pick up and read for yourself and make your own decisions. It's political. And what are the three things we don't discuss at a dinner party? Right.

You won't put the book down without an opinion.

There is a lot of information in this book, but I struggled with the constant bashing of the Republican party. I think it added to the divisiveness. I would be interested in reading an updated version of this book, since itbis older.

The book just felt like a copy and paste from the website. For that reason, I did not find this book that funny and dated. I would advise going to the author's website to read his humor.

I receive this book in Good Reads giveaway.

This book is for the political-minded reader. The book is detailed and the reader will learn a lot about the Republican Party. It is a book that I couldn’t book down because of how detailed and interesting it was.

One of the motivations for the book is the negative way that the Republican Party has been viewed by people lately. The party has unfortunately equated intelligence and education with being elite. They seem to believe that smart people look down on everyone else and especially the Republicans. In making such a comment, they devalue education and drive a division between two classes of Americans, those who are educated, and those who are not. Once that is accomplished, it seems possible to make being stupid a benefit and choosing emotions over fact. It seems that regular guys don’t believe in science. They believe in God and country instead not like the well-educated elites.

But these are all lies according to Andendall. In saying these things they have polarized this country into two classes. It seems that a madness and ignorance has taken over the party sadly. Andendall organizes his argument into the big questions the American people face such as, climate change, the economy, terrorism and so on. Each section gives a solid, fact-based commentary on the problems, and in each case he tries to undermine the Republican lies with facts. He even provides direct links to the sources so that it is simple for the reader to look them up if they are reading the book on a Kindle reader.

Andendall shows how easy it is to manipulate people. I find this truly sad as one would wish that people formed their own level-headed opinions on matters that are of central importance to their lives. But it seems that people are emotionally swayed, and sometimes the more outrageous the views that are advocated over the media, the more people are apt to believe them.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I will be recommending the book to a lot of my reading friends and colleagues who are interested in political issues and especially the Republican Party.

3.5 stars--i would have given this stars but this book really needs an editor (using less instead of fewer, spelling mistakes, etc)...not sure if this is just in the kindle version but if you're selling it in that format, someone should look it over right?

i was looking through the giveaways and noticed thom hartmann recommended this book so i had to enter this giveaway. i am glad i won because there is a lot of really good, really depressing information in this book. it got a little difficult to read so much stupid, but i think it is important to be an informed voter. i was a little surprised (but not really) to learn about ron paul's racist comments since i do like his anti-war/amti-intervention policies. also, after reading all of those pat robertson quotes it is depressing to see how reverentially his death was treated by the media. finally, just because trump is a nightmare does not mean the media (Bill Maher, Ellen Degeneres, etc) should be rehabilitating the image of a lot of these guys (George Bush).

i cannot understand how women can vote for these family values guys who then get caught asking for abortions for their mistresses (watch Colbert's Alpha Dog Scott DeJarlais video).

there is just so much content in here to get angry about...i would think people would want to vote them out but these guys (and a few women) keep getting re-elected. i wonder if people can use social media to caall out. boycott, etc companies who pay these "consultants" when they get out of office.

i read this on a kindle paperwhite so i didn't get all the benefits of the color coding & links. actually i think it took away from the reading experience. since there are so many links so it is easy to accidentally click on one which then launches the crappy experimental browser. also since you can't see color, you are just reading text that is light gray. finally, the text on the pictures is super tiny, and you can't make it bigger (unless i just don't know how to use my kindle).

*yes i know i'm not using capitals, etc but no one is paying me to write
