This was a ton of fun. Not being an avid science fiction fan, I'm a hard sell with content like this, but it won me over big. If the Terminator franchise was more like this, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have to keep rebooting it. Loads of action, lots of quirky characters, machine/human hybrids, land-dwelling whale creatures on four legs, and sooo many things to appreciate. And, beyond all the theatricality, there was a plot. A bit of an overcomplicated plot, at times, but still something you can follow easily. And the brevity of this book also set it apart from other such stories. Again, just very fun and enjoyable for a lot of reasons. Kevin Strange continues to impress me.
