"Who are you?" I demanded. My body was giving way to panic. I pushed against the restraints, though I knew they wouldn't budge.
"Give me a reading," the stranger stated. He positioned my injured arm between his hands, cupping my elbow.
"Surface temperature 38 degrees," the man to my left stated. What? Was he talking about me? It had to be Celsius.... Damn it, I should know what that means.
"Heart rate 140 BPM. Blood pressure 175 over 90."
That I understood. It was way too high. I shuddered. But how did they read it without a cuff?
"Just relax." His words blanketed me with a sense of ease, but there was something more. A warm comfort rippled beneath his hands. The pain in my elbow peeled away.
With narrowed eyes he stared down at my arm. Sensation tingled toward my hand, like a rush of blood, then my hand went numb.
"ETA 35 minutes," a man's voice said from the front of the vehicle.
"Where are we going?" I tried to make my words forceful, but my chest was heavy. A hum of feeling in my arm consumed my awareness. My arm twitched then relaxed again. The pain was completely gone.
I had tried reiki and meditation in college, but this was something I had never experienced. It was as if he commanded my muscles to relax.

Very intense and erotic. I just wish it were longer. The whole "research facility" aspect definitely peaked my interest. I have so many plot questions that went unanswered. The writing was excellent and really held my interest. I look forward to reading other books by this author.

This short story definitely held my interest. How amazing would it be to have a lover who truly felt what you did, and understood exactly what you needed?
Miya is abducted on her way to the class she's teaching when she's abducted by a group of military-looking men. She's scared, sure, but they're kind and gentle, and they do all they can to ease her fear and her physical pain. She's put through some testing, including something similar to a sensory deprivation test, and then she's told about her powers.
Does Jordan want her to stay? She makes a demand of him if he does, and that's when it gets steamy. I wonder if this is a set-up for a series? If it is, well, I'm anxiously looking for more. And even though the ending was abrupt, it was good, and it kept me thinking. And most importantly, it left me wanting more, and I love it when that happens!

This book blew me away! Talk about sex reimagined! This was very different from other erotica I've read but in all the right ways. This short story reminded me that erotica isn't just about hot steamy sex -although this story has that too! - its also about the characters. Its about making connections and sharing with another living soul the truth of who we are. The good and the bad, being open and honest and finding joy in accepting who we are and in being accepted.
I went looking for a quick, smutty read and instead I discovered a wonderful talent that I will definately be watching in the future. I highly recommend this!

Just Ok
This short story was just okay. Not much explanation for what happened to Miya. The author mentions that this is based on a dream. It had a dream like quality, but to me it was more sensual than sexy and I lost interest quickly. It took several attempts for me to finally finish it. Had the audio book as well, but the narrator sounded more like a young girl. Did nothing for me.
