March 11, 2024I am about 20-25 miles south of the monstous Sam statue off I-45 in Huntsville TX. It was not here when i carpet bagged my way here in 1978.
Sam tried to keep Texas out of the Civil War and that made him a very unpopular EX-Governor.
I raised my kids near the San Jacinto Battlefield. It is ugly around there with refineries and chemical plants but is a real nice visit. Dont miss the Monument Inn up the street at the Lynchburg Ferry.
The Battleship Texas may be moving out.
