Since that fateful airline flight where Ivory met her mate, she has struggled to control her ice powers. But on her wedding day, she has it all: an adoring panther-shifter husband, a pack of superhero friends, and a level of happiness she never imagined was possible.
Until she meets her mother-in-law.
Instead of waking up from a blissful wedding night at Panther's side, Ivory wakes from a drug-induced haze, alone in the middle of a strange jungle. Mommy dearest has dropped her in South America, forcing Ivory into a twisted test of her worth. If she doesn't measure up to the tribe's standards, the marriage won't be acknowledged.
Although Ivory loves a fight, she's not into war games. Especially when victory might entail killing her new brother-in-law in an honor duel. But with her future on the line, holding back isn't an option.
Warning: Contains one tribe of sexy panther-shifters in steamy jungle climates and the unforgivable torture of a Vera Wang wedding gown.
I seriously loved getting to see more of Ivory and Panther! They might be my fave M10 couple, so seeing them married and kicking ass again--super awesome! If you haven't read IVORY, read that first. And then, check out JUNGLECAT HONEYMOON!
Ivory and Panther's big day is filled with humor, adventure and plenty of smexiness...everything I expected from the Manhattan Ten!
JUNGLECAT HONEYMOON explores the ongoing romance of Ivory and Panther from second installment in the series, IVORY. After finding each other they've decided to tie the knot and make things official but in true Manhattan Ten form, things don't go smoothly. Soon after the nuptials Ivory is formally introduced to her mother-in-law (aka monster-in-law) who takes advantage the happy bride, drugging and whisking her away to the jungles of South America where she is meant to prove her worthiness to the rest of the panther family. These days Ivory is more a lover than a fighter but when it comes to her man Pan, she's willing to face anyone, even family.
I can't get enough of the Manhattan Ten and really love that Ms. Dodge gives us a look into Ivory and Pan's big day in JUNGLECAT HONEYMOON. I always enjoy the strong women in these books and Ivory is one tough cookie, she stuck to her guns and definitely proved herself worthy. It was great to briefly revisit the rest of the superheroes and meet some new intriguing characters. Pan's sexy brother Quan can definitely give him a run for his money, that's all I have to say!
This short story is filled with the same action, humor and romance of Lola's full length installments and while the pace is fast, it doesn't feel rushed. Even amidst all the chaos and adventure we get a little smexy time for Ivory and Pan (which is always appreciated), I mean what's a honeymoon without some nookie, right?! Fans of the books will surely be delighted by this addition to the series. Thank you Lola for giving us this short but entertaining superhero HEA! <3
This story can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend readers to read them in order...trust me you won't want to miss any of these sexy superheroes! ;)
Junglecat Honeymoon is a short novella that expands the story between Panther and Ivory, their main story can be found in Ivory. This time around Ivory is marrying her love, and the wedding is beautiful. She is surrounded by her friends and gets to meet Panther's mother. But pleasantries are not surrounding what is supposed to be the happiest day of her life. She's drugged, her powers are blocked and she's dropped in the jungle to prove she's worthy of marrying Panther. All I could think of is how is she going to get out of this?
Lola Dodge actually wrote this for Sharonda @ Brazen Babe Reviews and I because we both read Ivory and were fighting over who got Panther as their book boyfriend. While I do love Panther, I'm intrigued by Quan, his sexy brother now. I hope to see his book in the very near future, because I adore LDodge's sexy panthers. All in all this was a nice addition to Ivory and Panther's story and I was glad to see more of them. While the majority of the series can be read in any order, I would read Ivory first if you're wanting to read Junglecat Honeymoon. I suggest this series if you're looking for awesome novellas that contain superhero love.
Ivory and Panther are my favorite couple of the series thus far, so of course I was excited to get more of them! Junglecat Honeymoon starts out with their wedding. They had a traditional service that followed Ivory's tribe's customs, but that didn't satisfy Pan's mother. She needs her daughter-in-law to prove her worth in the way of the panthers! Which is why Ivory wakes up in a treehouse in the middle of the jungle, without her ice powers, instead of in a plush hotel room with her husband.
Junglecat Honeymoon was just a lot of fun! Even without her powers, Ivory is badass! She takes every challenge thrown at her and just nails it! She does have to reign in her huntress instincts and not actually kill any of Pan's relatives, especially his brother. But Ivory is fierce and isn't going to let her monster-in-law keep her from the love of her life! I also really liked that ending. Ivory is also great at payback!
I am very thankful for Lola for giving me a copy of the Manhattan Ten series in exchange for an honest review.
I have been meaning to read these but time is never with me. So, when our computer started having problems I though it was the perfect time to start reading books from my must read TBR list.
I started this series from book four. Now, I am working backwards. I know it is not the right way to read a series but I have always read books for fun and to relax.
This is short story. When I started reading it I realised I did not know much about the characters and how they came together. The small and simple amount of information I read about these two was intriguing. There was crazy in laws. The kind of love that is gonna want you to have the same kind of relationship that they have. The passion and the intense chemistry wih the little bit of action that i glimpsed, will ignite your senses.
I would recommend readers to start from the first book. But reading from the last to the first in this series is not a ad idea either.
This was a welcome read for me! It was great to revisit Ivory and Panther, and I liked seeing Panther's culture up close and personal! I also liked the little blurbs we got about the previous books' couples and the hinting that went on about the next books in the series. Ivory really unleashes herself in this book, and we learn a bit more about her in so doing. It was a short read, but immensely enjoyable!
