An upset at Christmas when Brandon’s estranged parents show up for a visit way out west.
Sometimes confrontations are good for healing. The characters rely on God to mend fences between family members. The cute kids add to the cozy family atmosphere. A lesson to kearn: you need to trust God and look beyond present attitudes to see a real hurting person.

Brandon and Amanda fell in love and married each other in an earlier book in this series. (In traditional genre romances the main characters were supposed to be single and get married at the end; in today's e-book romances they can be married and fall in and out of love all over again, as real people do.) Their relationship is stressed by relatives who hope to persuade them to move back East and earn more money in town, although they love their ranch. True love, true faith, kindness to each other, and respect for their elders will prevail.
This is about as sweet as it's possible for a Christian romance to get, despite some gritty details from real life. I did note a few anachronisms. Brandon and Amanda have names that were not unknown in the 1920s but sound much more typical of the 2020s, and some of the expressions they use sound modern too. There's not much danger of anyone mistaking Sara R. Turnquist's writing "voice" for Kathleen Norris's or Elinor Glyn's. But the story itself is so nice, I'm willing to overlook that.

To me this was an older coming of age story of sorts
Bitcoin between parents and children is normal, but when they get married the children, And then other problems arise. That's what the story is about. The characters were believable especially for the time frame The story line is believable living in the west many men died and women remarried. This was a short story a good read....

A good short story follow-up book. A visit from Brandon’s parents at Christmas makes things a little unpleasant and tense. Sara J. Turnquist brings a story of needed understanding and forgiveness. I enjoyed this story.

Healing for broken relationships is always difficult, but it’s hard. I loved the ending and how the characters trusted God for help with their problems.

An Inconvenient Christmas is a story about life and family. It's about being uncomfortable and dealing with the issue in front of you. It's about learning to forgive and figuring out how to do second chances--all in the season of love, family & giving.
I loved this sweet Christmas novella, a second installment to Brandon and Amanda's story. This author took the characters I already loved (from A Convenient Risk) and gifted her readers with an endearing Christmas tale all tied up with a bow. I always enjoy this author's work and look forward to reading her next novel.
