Being a hero is not such an easy job after all.

It’s junior year, and Alex and her friends are just trying to survive high school: boring homework, detention, crushes…and a fateful journey through a portal to another planet—you know, the usual. Despite being average California teenagers, this group of six finds themselves on a return trip to the strange land of Cantelia, w

I received an ARC of the 2nd edition and I'm glad I did.

This novel picks up months after book one, Spirit Lake, left off. But this time, the author alternates perspectives between our heroine, Alex, and the resident bad-boy, Geoffrey. It is fun to see inside his head and figure out what motivates his often sour attitude. Instead of being annoyed with him, I found myself understanding his complexity and wanting more. He is worthy to be added to my list of book boyfriends.

There is action, adventu

This author is amazing!!! Never fails to let me down. Just like the 1st book, this one was a spellbinder. So fun to read and see a different characters perspective. I recommend highly!!!!

The Wrong Fairy Tale is Book #2 in the Spirit Lake series by Tamar Hela and just like the first book it was fantastic. Ms. Hela uses alternating perspectives to keep us intrigued as she switches between the series heroine, Alex, and resident delinquent, Geoffrey. The book takes place a few months after the first book ends. Just as in the first book, the author pulls you into the crazy world of Cantelia and the deepening mystery surrounding Alex. By the end of the book, you are desperate to read ...more

Really enjoyed this followup to the Spirit Lake book. The characters grew so much, and I liked that. There was also some romance in this book, which was great. Though things wrap up nicely from the journey to Cantelia, there is some intrigue at the end, setting us up for the next book in the series, I believe. Excited to see where this author takes us next.
