This installment was solid. It didn't pack the same punch as the first, but you could feel the story building. And I'm anxious to continue on.

The narration was solid as well.

The second of four thrilling Rogue River novellas, Melinda Leigh gives us "Gone To Her Grave", a page turning romantic suspense.
The story continues involving the Taylor family and focuses on Carly Taylor, a social worker for Child Protective Services.
The storyline involving C-22, a dangerous killer drug, also continues when a teenager is accused of distributing the drug. Carly is convinced the teen is innocent while her estranged husband, Seth Harding a investigator on the drug task force, feel
Didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first, but it was still a solid novella. Not much time was devoted to the mystery, but I guess that could be forgiven since that aspect of the story will be pursued in subsequent installments. The verdict is still out on the featured couple of this novella.

The second instalment of the Rogue River Novella series, focuses on Stevie’s sister, Carly. Carly is a spunky social worker for Child Protective Services who is passionate about her work and family.

Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh are the co-authors of this series. Kendra’s novellas focus on Stevie and Melinda’s on Carly. Both authors seem to be quite compatible and the writing across the two novellas, so far, flows seamlessly.

The main storyline for Gone to Her Grave pivots around a case of domes

Seth loves his wife and would do anything for her. Except be 100% understanding when it comes to the dangerous of her job. Except he is starting to see the errors of his ways

Gone to Her Grave by Melinda Leigh is a 2014 Montlake publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This second novella in the Rogue River series is penned by Melinda Leigh. This story centers around Carly and Seth who have been having marital difficulties and are now separated. Carly is a social worker whose job is an extension of who she is. Seth has never given her job the importance he gives his, which is law enforcement.

Just letting you know before you start this series, that it REALLY ISN'T a romance. Often publishers bill books as a romance to cross categories to obtain more readers, even if the romance only includes a kiss or dating... Such as this series. That said...

This is a conglomeration of two authors writing a continuing saga in novella form about one mystery. Deaths are happening in this small town, because of the intro of a newly manufactured drug. Each author is writing about a different couple.

Gone To Her Grave is the second book in the Rogue River series and is told in the povs of separated husband and wife, Seth and Carly (Stevie's sister). I was kind of disappointed with this one mainly because I wanted more of SteviexZane, and progress with the main crime. Plot development was flat for me but the build up was realistic. It just didn't pull me in and it wasn't much of a romantic suspense aspect to it. I did like that family is still a major element in the book. Patsy (Ca

Just finished reading Gone to her Grave, and now I'm anxiously awaiting the third novella. Melinda and Kendra compliment each other's writing beautifully. The book flows seamlessly, and I couldn't put this one down till I finished it.
Bravo Melinda.. Can't wait to see what Kendra has in store for the third novella :)

Highly recommended!

Like most of her family, Carly Taylor takes her job as a social worker very seriously and will do anything to protect the children whose welfare she is responsible for. Her dedication to her job has been a long running battle between her husband and her and her marriage has become a casualty of that battle. Carly needs her husband to understand that her job is just as important to her as his is to him and to trust her to handle herself well. Her latest case is about to add more fuel to the ragin ...more

While I really enjoyed the first installment in this series I thought the lack of conclusion in this book was more pronounced than the former.

The Good: I liked the suspenseful moments where Carly was making home visits to a family in a really bad situation. This smacks of realness and it made me identify with Carly and the fact that she didn't run headlong into danger was a plus. I liked seeing Stevie once again even though she had a very small part in this book.

The Bad: The continuing storylin

My 3.5 Star Review for Book 2 only: I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review. This was a little under 100 pages and was a pretty quick afternoon read. I enjoyed the characters and the story and wished I had read the 1st book in the series (although it wasn't necessary). I think as you get to Book 3 and Book 4 it is going to be more important that you read the books in sequence. I am not a fan of cliffhanger series and am pleased that that the subplot for this novella was resolve ...more

(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

This is the second novella in the Rogue River series - alternately written by Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh.

This book starts off where the first novella finished off: there is a mysterious new drug doing the rounds killing people. We find a woman in hospital who may have accidentally taken drugs that her son had brought into the house. Social worker Carly Taylor (sister to Stevie from the first story) takes

Gone to Her Grave is the second book in the Rogue River series by Melinda Leigh. Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot are writing this series in tandem.

In first book, On Her Father's Grave, we had two points of view, Stevie Taylor and Zane Duncan’s. I was a big skeptical about Gone to Her Grave because it was told from Stevie’s sister, Carly Taylor’s and her husband’s Seth Harding’s points of view. I usually don’t like when a series changes its main characters f

Gone to Her Grave (Rogue River #2) by Melinda Leigh, is novella #2 in the Rogue River romantic suspense series. a joint writing collaboration between Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh. The novella picks up where On Her Father's Grave (Rogue River #1) by Kendra Elliot ends, and continues the story of multiple deaths caused by an unknown drug, but focuses on a different couple.

So far my overall feeling towards the series is “its just so-so”. I have several issues with the series such as:

“Gone to Her Grave” is an ongoing story of the members on the Taylor Family and their role in the community of Solitude Oregon. We see the brothers and sisters interaction and we see challenges of being an in-law is such a close family as the Taylors.

Gone To Her Grave by Melinda Leigh is the second book in the Rogue River Novella Book series and it was as good as the first book. Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot are each writing two books in the series and they have both written a great book.

The second book revolves around Carly Taylor and her husband Seth. Carly is a social worker in Solitude, Colorado, and Seth is a detective in the same town. He has been assigned to work on a drug task force that was created because there is a new drug on t

The plot thickens in the 2nd book in this four part series from Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh. Each take a different sister and tells their story with the back drop being of the deaths of a couple of kids that looks to be from a new drug that could be being manufactured and distributed from one of their own in the small town of Solitude, Oregon.

Melinda part is about Carly Taylor who is a social worker whose calls have increased since the new drug has hit town. A lot more of the residents of So

My Review:
The situation between Seth and Carly is painful to read. It's not that they don't love each other anymore...that was never the issue. No, Seth doesn't respect the job Carly does as a social worker. He wants to change her which has put them at an that isn't overcome in this particular installment of this interesting series.

What is accomplished in this book is that the reader gets to know both of them better, their jobs within the legal system in Solitude, and there are mo

As I finished the second in the Rogue River series by Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot , I find myself counting the days until the next one comes available. The plot thickens as they say in this second installment.

We met Carly and Seth in, On Her Fathers Grave. She is a social worker whose job is not respected enough by her husband ,Seth who has worked his way up in the force. Seth is an overprotective alpha, who will do anything for his wife and 7 year old daughter. Seth and Carly are separated

And that is how the second book in the Rogue River Series, “Gone To Her Grave”, embroils us into more questions than answers. Innocent lives seem to be threatened, and an unknown drug has the town of Solitude in a grip of danger and death.
