What should school libraries collect and how can we support the creation and dissemination of knowledge in our communities? Particular emphasis is given to questions about access, equity, and learning in order to ensure that all students will be effective consumers and producers of information and ideas heading into the 22nd-century.

SO GLAD I read this book. This gave me very practical and insightful advice on what any school librarian needs to do in order to develop their library collection in an informed fashion. Includes examples of different kinds of libraries, from the unopened, still-to-be-created library, to the established library that needs to modernize, and more.
