I stand (technically, I'm sitting) a broken woman. You know why? I finished The Second Chance Hero and there no more Forever Love series books to read. (For now)  I've had this book on my Kindle for at least a month and I put off reading it as long as I could stand it.   On one hand, I really wanted to read it because I loved the previous books and I was looking forward to Owen and Kim.  On the other, I did not want to read it because I knew that there was NOT another Forever Love se
Saw the blurb and just had to read this one. I am a total sucker for a military romance and in this case I got two military vet characters all in one story. She was a combat nurse and he was/is a marine. Oh yes, please!

The book is part of a series and highlights the fourth of a set of couples all connected through three guys who were childhood friends and built a software security firm into a very successful business. I was vaguely aware that this book was part of a series when I grabbed it up,

From the first book in her Forever Love series Jeannie Moon has captivated me, surprised me, and made me a huge fan. The Second Chance Hero is the fourth book in this series and it had a way more serious feel to it than the others; not that the others didn’t have their serious moments but pretty much from beginning to end the couple in this story was dealing with some pretty heavy issues all w

The last year in Afghanistan had been nothing but heat and death. It had been hell, but finally, looking at Kim, he saw the only reason he needed for having gone…

4.0 RATING- The Second Chance Hero is the fourth book in the Forever Love series by author Jeannie Moon and is told through dual points of view of the main characters. Each book focuses on one couple and should be considered a stand-alone. The series is sequential and share supporting characters so expect some minor spoilers on the earl

This book had me hooked from the first page - the prologue really sets the scene for how emotional this story is. My favorite thing about this book is Owen. Owen is sexy, strong, smart, sweet, a marine and a billionaire. Wow! If he was a little bit geeky he would be my perfect man! As for Kim, my heart broke for her. Kim's fiance died right in front of her when they were in Afghanistan and a couple minutes after that, she finds out he has been keeping a secret from her. Devastated, Kim can't cop ...more

Kent. Owen Kent. How about a military billionaire who hides a gut-wrenching secret he and the heroine share...because she has no memory of it?
The slow burn between these two souls is palpable, and it is clear from the start they deserve one another. Owen is too hard on himself at times, but I loved him all the same. Kim is scared, and rightly so, after a tragedy steals everything from her, how can she even fathom a relationship with a military guy? Once things warm up, the heat stays, the love b

An emotional, beautiful story that had me mesmerized from the very first page. I couldn't put this one down. A wonderfully written story and the characters feel like real people with real emotions. A second chance at love for Kim with a wonderful man deserving of her love. Owen is the real deal and will do anything to win Kim's heart. You can't help but cheer for a HEA for these two. This is an absolute must read for everyone. I highly recommend it.

This is the first of Ms. Moon's books I have had the pleasure to read. I will be reading the first in this series because the characters I met in The Second Chance Hero are so delightful, I want to know their stories as well.

Kim Torres RN USNR is working in a trauma center very close to the action in Kandahar, Afghanistan. A helicopter arrives to bring in two alpha patients (severely injured) and her life erupts. One of those patients dies in her arms, it is her fiancé, Tom Albanese. They have b

The Second Chance Hero is the fourth book in the Forever Love series from author Jeannie Moon. With the Rossi and Campbell siblings all happily married, this story turns its attention toward one of Jason Campbell's best friends and business partners and Harper Poole's nanny: Owen Kent and Kim Torres, respectively. Kim experienced loss and betrayal in a manner of minutes while in Afghanistan, after the death of her fiancé is quickly followed by

This is Moon's fourth book in the Forever Love Stories series and it is the first book of her's that I have read. The Prologue goes straight to it and I really felt the emotion and sadness Kim felt when dealing with her dying fiance. I was hooked. The description and emotions were so raw and real. Unfortunately, the book lost that gripping emotion and though I enjoyed the book, it took me a little longer to get through than when I had imagined.

I had the opportunity to read an early draft of this book and think it's Moon's best to date. I have a tendency to fall in love with book heroes and this book sent my imagination soaring.

Owen is a fantastic hero and Kim is just as great. Both make some incredible sacrifices that not only make you root for them but make you fall just a little bit deeper in love with both of them -- the first time I can honestly admit to loving a heroine instead of imagining myself in her place.

This story touched my heart and soul. I have not read much in the way of contemporary, but this was recommended to me by several people so I bought it and read. I fell in love with Owen and Kim in a big way. I was reading this story at the same time as listening to another, and had a tough time choosing which one to read at any given time. Both are keeping my attention. I finished this one as I finally had a day when I was not working and could curl up in a chair until the story was done. I reco ...more

There’s something about Jeannie Moon’s writing that causes me to binge read her books. Unless we’re talking sequels, very seldom do I ever read two books by the same author one right after the other. But I have with Jeannie Moon, on several occasions. It may be her ability to create compelling side characters, whose stories I want to know!

The heroine in The Second Chance Hero was introduced in the previous book (The Wedding Secret). Kim Torres was a Navy combat nurse serving in Afgh

Better than the last

Really a nice story, with much more mature characters and a very heartfelt storyline. Can really see this author's development as I am reading this series back to back. While the characters from the previous books made an appearance, this book was much more centered on the two main characters. Enjoyable

Breaking away from a given is near impossible

Most childhood sweetheart situations work but there are those that don’t and in one like the one between Tom and Kim, families are also invested in this relationship....tough but Kim is tough enough to fight for her life and her real love!

Lovely second chance story.

Every woman deserves a man like Owen. An imperfect hero capable of admitting his mistakes and persevering. It also give the reader a sense of when you get home from war. It takes time to live again.

Lies are horrible things but when someone says something they would not like to hear and talk about then can it really be lies when it had to do with that. He really wanted to tell her about what happened almost a year ago but he knew it could end the relationship he wanted with her.

Wow when I requested this book I really didn’t read the synopsis all I knew was that I love Ms. Moon’s writing. Then I was going through my kindle and remembered requesting this and did a little investigating and saw
I'm a newbie to Jeannie Moon's writing but I'm already a fan. The fourth book in her Forever Love series is one that I enjoyed but then again what war-torn-soldier-loving reader wouldn’t? Unlike many other stories I've read the heroine is also a veteran in the war having served in a medical unit as an RN. I’ve not read any of the other stories in the series so I don’t have an opinion on how either the writing or story lines differ and this read just find as a standalone. And for those of us who ...more

My Thoughts:

The Second Chance Hero is the very first book that I've ever read by author Jeannie Moon. It was a very pleasant and warm romance. I haven't read the other books in this series, but I would strongly recommend reading them in order. There were a lot of secondary characters in this story, and at times I felt a little bit lost when it came to keeping track of who was whom, their significant others, kids, and who they were in relation to one another. However, having read, Second Chance H

I have read and enjoyed all previous three books in the Forever Love Story series and from the moment I read the except for The Second Chance Hero, I was eagerly waiting for the release. The meeting between Kim and Owen was gut-wrenching and I wanted to see how their relationship played out.

Jeannie Moon is one of my favorite authors. I can always count on her to write a captivating story that grabs me from the beginning and doesn’t let me go until the very end. The Second Chance Hero, book #4 in Ms. Moon’s Forever Love series, is one such book and does not disappoint. The author gives her storyline and characters such depth that the reader can’t help but travel the path right along with them.

This is a light read and enjoyable for anyone who likes a good romance. Kim Torres a nurse watches her fiancé die a horrible death in Afghanistan. If that isn’t enough she finds out that all was not well in their relationship. Collapsing into a man’s arms she comes back home broken but determined that neither Tom’s family nor her own will know the truth. Unable to go back into nursing she takes a job as a nanny. I could em

It’s funny how sometimes we read new authors, like them, but don’t go back to them (not by choice), and suddenly realize, I’ve read this author before, and liked her books. Jeannie Moon did not ring a bell until I started reading “The Second Chance Hero”, and realized the secondary characters sounded so familiar. One click and was able to connect the dots to her first two books in the “A Forever Love Story” (The Temporary Wife, Unexpectedly Yours, The Wedding Secret), and the third yet to read i ...more

The Second Chance Hero is the fourth book in Jeannie Moon’s Forever Love series. This story started with a bang and had me from page one. Kim Torres experiences something that no one should ever experience. She is a combat nurse in Afghanistan when she is presented with a victim. Her fiancé. I was given a copy of this book to write an honest review for Cocktails and Books.

Jeannie Moon writes a captivating, well written story that pulled me in from the first page with characters that are easy to connect with. When Kim and Owen meet there is an immediate attraction between them, but Kim isn’t interested in dating because, she’s still trying to recover from a heartbreaking experience that occurred when she was stationed in Afghanistan as a nurse.
