New York Series Book 4

Cami and Ziporah are two girls that couldn’t be more different if they tried. They met as college roommates, forging a friendship that became a lifeline when tragedy struck.
Now as Cami opens herself to reclaim her sexuality, including the possibility that she is a sexual submissive, her fear of the unknown threatens to keep her chained by the past forever.
Ziporah has always been Cami's champion, reassurer, her safe place, and she is determined to take this erotic journey side by side with her. What starts out as supporting a friend just may end up showing Z that she and Cami may not be so different after all.
When Evan moved to New York City on business, the last thing he expected was to have two untrained subs on his hands. Each woman appeals to him in different ways. They pull at his emotions with their vulnerability and challenge his Dominance with their spunk and wit. Evan never dreamt that as he taught their bodies to submit, his heart would be brought to submission by theirs.

Lainey- born in Tacoma, Washington- was raised mostly in Nevada and California. The youngest of five, Lainey dreamed of being an actress and starring in blockbuster movies she wrote herself. As she grew, the dreams of being on the big screen faded but the ones of writing those fantastic stories never did. At 17 Lainey read her first romance novel and knew she’d found her calling. Here were the stories like the ones in her own heart and mind, and like tumblers falling into position on a combination lock, everything just clicked into place and the world was open to her.
It took a long time before she could work up the courage and belief in herself to try but finally, in 2010 Lainey held her breath and took the leap. Her first novel A Table For Three debuted in February and she hasn’t looked back since. Nor has she given up hope that one day, she will be sitting in a theater and it will be one of her stories on the big screen…
Along with her husband and two dogs, Lainey lives in Marysville, Washington and they have a daughter going to college in Bellingham. Look for Lainey’s edge of your seat adventure The Pod coming later in 2019.

4 Hot and Sexy Stars!

When I want a hot, panty-soaking read Lainey Reese never disappoints. This was a quick short read featuring a FMF menage relationship. I've never read FMF so I was a little skeptical jumping into this one, but I really enjoyed the relationship between Ethan, Cami and Zipporah. And I think this was one of the more emotional of all the books in this series. Even though it's erotica, I love how it touched upon some sensitive subjects. It's the 4th book but it can definitely be read as a standalone. Just prepare yourself for an intense, hot, sexy read!

The story was okay. The romance is way out of my comfort zone and I have this awkward feeling while reading it (maybe because I haven't read f/m/f before?). It's nice to try a little something different and finding out that this kind of romance is not for me. The previous book is quite better than this.

Lainey I love you so much!! For three books now you have brought this beautiful, sexy, heart pounding and erotic world. We really see and feel everything that these characters do. This continues into book 4...... OMG it blows me away. Cami is hurt inside and out but with the help of her best friend Ziporah (Zoe) she pushes through. Zoe loves her best friend Cami and would do anything to keep her safe after the nightmare back in college. She must be Cami's rock and she is great at it. Zoe is so strong but at some point she needs a release..... put in her place from time to time. Even if she tries to fight it. LOL She is a bad a** and has worked hard to get to where she is and to get the respect she does. Evan......well can you say yummy!!!! He is the perfect Dom to take on not only Cami but Zoe too. He shows the girls what it's lime to have someone take control and still respect them. Lainey will make you laugh and cry in this book. To me F/M/F books and go really wrong and not believable but she takes this relationship and shows it as a beautiful thing that brings healing to the women and fills Evan's heat with love. Thank you Lainey for this story. You hit this one out of the park!! Embracing The Fall was a perfect addition to your New York Series. <3 xoxo

I am so disappointed in this book. I expected a lot, maybe too much, but I just loved the previous books in this series.
I would have liked more depth to the characters, more development on their feelings and emotions and psychology.
The book starts with Cami and Z, teenagers, and the trauma they went through. Then we have some more pages about how Cami got professionnal help to get through her issues, etc... and I was expecting that once she found a Dom he would explore that broken side of her.
I wanted more talk between the Dom and his submissives.
Evan knew from the start that he might have to walk on egg shells, the very first time they meet, he sees that she has some failure in her, I really wanted to see Evan push their limits and win their trust.
I think I would have liked it better if there hadn't been the BDSM theme (beacause it was very light and disappointing) nor the trauma past thing because once again it was not developped. The fact that the book opened on this, I was expecting it to be a bigger part of the relationship

I thought this book was going to be an erotic story about D/s and BDSM, and it was, but it was more than that. It starts with the friendship of two young college girls and shows how a terrible experience to one of them brings them even closer. The story follows them into their careers and introduction into the D/s lifestyle. This book is more about the relationship of these two very different women with the man who becomes their Dom. While the story contains eroticism it becomes more about the loving relationship that develops between these three people. Thank you to Goodreads Giveaway for allowing me to be introduced to Lainey Reese. This is a quick and enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more books from this author. If the book had a little more content it would have raised my rating.

I was finally happy to end my anxiety about Embracing the Fall. When I first spied the cover, I thought it was going to be a f/f/m romance, which I do not personally read. However, I love Lainey's writing and I enjoyed the New York series up to this point so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I will be the first to admit that this book is not at all what it seems. The adage of never judging a book by its cover is definitely true in this case.

The story opens with two best friends, Ziporah and Cami as they are celebrating Cami's date with the star of Washington State's wrestling team. She is super excited because the jock, Mark Wahlberg -- yes, Mark Wahlberg (but that one) -- was hawt and popular with the ladies. Very much the BMOC. And Cami was flattered by the fact that he wanted her. Sadly, things go bad between she and Mark. Like bad in the worse possible way for a woman, and Cami has to live with the scars of their night together.

Fast forward a seven years and Cami and Ziporah, "aka Z" are still best friends and living in New York City. Cami is still very aloof when it comes to men because she is still living the nightmare that was her past. However, with Z's help and the help of a therapist, Cami begins to get in touch with her sexual nature. Cami discovers that she is a sexual submissive but has no outlet by which to explore. So, she reads and researches everything there is to know about being a sub but has no real interest in acquiring a dom. Well, until she gets a bit of a push from a friend -- Zoe. Zoe approaches Master Evan and asks him to seduce Cami to introduce her to the lifestyle. Evan being Evan declines the seduction part but only offers to help if he is properly introduced to Cami. He wants there to be no secrets or lies between them since trust is the primary tenet of a D/s relationship. Cami is absolutely resistant to doing a "meet and greet" with the Dom so Z steps in and offers to be "submissive" along with Cami so that she feels more comfortable with the arrangement. Ziporah finds the whole aspect of her being submissive funny since she is a takes-no-prisoners, ball busting attorney. But, that's all before she meets Evan. When she meets him a flip switches on inside of her that she never expects to have triggered. It is very much the same for Cami. Evan more than meets their expectations and the women...BOTH...want him. Evan is very much up to the challenge of dominate two willful and uniquely beautiful woman.

Without giving away any real spoilers about the story I will say that it was both emotional and very sweet. First, Ziporah and Cami's relationship was purely platonic. There was no sexual touching or titillation between them. Z was Cami's strength and her comfort. She had lived through the emotional incident with her and her heart broke for her friend so she was very protective of her. She never expected that "playing submissive" would lead her to lasting love and a deeper connection because of that love with her best friend. Evan was strong but gentle and I love how he plied both women and wooed them but gave them what they both needed. It was sweet to watch him with both of the women -- independently and together.

The climax of the story will make you angry, like throat punching angry. But never fear...the triad conquers the challenge with great aplomb. Cami finally had the inner strength to defend herself, but Evan and Z have her back and almost instantly take up a protective position around her. And I adored, absolutely adored, how Evan meted out his revenge. It was totally and completely or made more of an impact than any physical blow could.

All in all, Embracing the Fall was an exceptional story and very well written to solicit a range of emotion.

Embracing the Fall (New York #4) by Lainey Reese
4.5 stars

This book can absolutely be read stand alone, though I do love the series and highly recommend it!

If you are open to trying something new, pickup a copy Embracing the Fall.
This book is a f/m/f read, yes Master Evan finds love with two women Cami and Ziporah but before you dismiss it based on subject matter, remember many of us read stories that would never work for us in real life or even appeal to us in real life. This story feels so true to the characters created, it is worth the read and trying something new.

Cami and Ziporah are best friends, they are so different yet so connected to each other. Ms Reese instantly pulls the reader into the book with a powerful and gut wrenching prologue. You will feel for Cami and Zip as the pain in real, the bond connecting them laid out and the path to happy to unclear.

Readers of this series meet Master Evan when he played with Gage and Zoey, yes Gage and Evan are Doms you can infer what I mean by the word play. In Embracing the Fall Ms Reese brings Master Evan to life; this hot Dom is demanding, loving and compassionate often times in the same scene.

These three agree to play in an attempt to help Cami (nope not telling you why you need to read the book to see why she needs help.) As the sex turns into more I was able to feel each characters perspective and why the unique relationship developing worked for each.

I adored the pet names Evan has for each girl, it allows the reader to appreciate the depth to which Evan connected with each woman as their names are not what you expect but they cut deep into who these ladies are deep down.

Oh I want to say I loved the cover and title of this book; Embracing the Fall has layered meaning in this story, I loved the play on words.

If you have read the prior books you do see the couples from the books in the series and yes Gage and Zoey have one hell of a hot scene!

Cami, Ziporah and Evan seems to find a balance that works for them.

As the part meets the present and the prologue’s pain walks into a bar this story takes an amazing turn. I loved loved loved the resolution to what at first felt so unjust. Master Evan truly makes takes providing justice to the next level.

The epilogue to this story warmed my heart and left me with a huge smile on face; again no I could never picture myself sharing a man but this story and this happy felt so true to Cami, Zip and Evan, so hats off Ms Reese.

Well damn, this book was so freaking hot!

Cami and Ziporah have been friends since they were in college together and now share an apartment together. Ziporah loves going out and hooking up with hot guys whereas Cami tends to just keep to herself, working a lot at the bar she owns.

Cami had a horrific experience at the hands of a guy she went on a date with at college and has been afraid to date anyone ever since.

After talking it through with Ziporah and doing lots of research, Cami decides she wants to explore what it would be like to be with a Dom. A Dom/Sub relationship really interests her and she thinks it will help her deal with her past. Ziporah agrees to take the journey with her so that she feels comfortable with her decision.

Her friends help her find the perfect guy, Evan. Not only does he want to explore this with Cami but he wants Ziporah too so it's a win win. Evan is tall, ripped and freaking gorgeous and very much attracted to both girls. He is patient and gentle, as much as a dom can be and loves giving the girls pleasure.

Who knew that a microphone stand and a hitachi wand could be so much fun.

I love how Evan brings Cami out of her shell into this sexual awakening of her body. He treats the girls with so much adoration and respect.

This is such a hot sexy read with an unexpected conclusion that you will love!

Sexy, erotic, pantie melting … yes, Lainey Reese delivers these every time I read one of her books. If you love erotic love stories, than pick up the New York series by Lainey. This one has a new spin with a M/F/F relationship but the two women are best friends, not bi-sexual. Cami survives a traumatic event in college and Ziporah (Z) is there to pick up the pieces and be strong for Cami. These two best friends have the best relationship as they are there for each other not matter what. As Cami is working to fight through the trauma several years later, she figures out she is submissive but is afraid to actually scene with a Dom. Step in her BF who agrees to do this with her to help her out. Their friend Zoe know just who to ask, she approaches Master Evan, he agrees as long as Cami knows he is Dom when the initially meet. What Evan doesn't expect is to be swept off his feet by Cami and Z. We get to explore the beauty of these 3 strong and determined individuals as they find a way to build an incredible bond, heal old wounds and create extreme heat together.

To those who say they're skipping it because it's two women and one man, it's your loss. I took a chance on an author who has grabbed me and sucked me in every book of her's I've read (all of them so far) and stepped out of my comfort zone and preferences to read this book.

Menages featuring two women and one man is not my thing and I don’t tend to buy or read them; however, this one being part of a series I love, I knew I would get, read and take a chance on it for that alone. 5 stars aren’t enough for this book. I cried and hurt and cheered and laughed my way through this book. It is beautiful, emotionally intense, very hot, gut wrenching, fun, and funny all packaged together in a wonderful read. I am literally still emotionally drunk from the ride this book took me on. This is a very definite favorite that I will reread again and again. It's just that beautiful.

Looovvvved it! There was no bad, only good here and so hot it scorched!

I have to admit that the previous book in this series completely fizzled at the end for me, and a short story since then was also so-so. That caused me to be cautious of this story, but now I wish I had of dug in earlier!

As everyone says, there is no sexual relationship between the females, only the male with them. It is all so sweet and loving, and off the charts sexy, these three are perfect together in a way you rarely get in a menage.

i thought this book was beyond excellent...the way these three showed love for each other was so beautiful sweet and emotional ,there was absolutely no sexual touching between Z and C but it wasnt needed for you to see that they truly loved each other and loved enough to be 100 % sure of their shared loved for Evan and he showed his girls that he could love them both equally and completely and wholly....Lainey rocked the book world once again ...if you havent read this series you need to and soon cause you dont know what youre missing out on

Everything online about this book says it is FMF like there is sex between the women. That is not the case. The ladies are REALLY close friends, but completely into sharing Evan. and, Evan is the perfect Dom for them. While it isn't as good as Table for Three, it is a very quick and easy read. i enjoyed it more than i expected. All the gang from the other three books appear in this one so it's good to re-visit characters we liked from the past.

This book was nothing like i thought it would be, actually i didn't know what to expect with it being FMF with BDSM, but after reading it, i was blown away!! I loved the chemistry between all three characters which allowed the hot scorching scenes to be that much passionate and real!! Great story about conquering your fear and stepping out of your comfort zone to find out your soul purpose!! Lainey Reese delivers again with book 4!! 5 stars

Embracing the Fall, the fourth book in Ms. Reese's New York series is the best one since book 1. All of the previous characters make appearances. I loved how close Cami and Zephorah were, absolute best friends, soul sisters, who end up sharing even their lover/Dom. I loved how they all tumbled into love, and that the drama was handled (fairly) maturely. Yup. A good read.

Embracing the Fall
Embracing the Fall by Lainey Reese
Erotic BDSM f-m-f Ménage. No f-f. Part of The New York Series but can stand alone.

I read a book by Lainey Reese a few years back that was so freaking hot, I still remember it (which, if you know me, that's quite a feat!). I always meant to get back to the New York Series, but never quite got there, but A Table for Three (New York #1) was a really hot book with ménage and a Dom. Yum. So when I heard she just released a new one and consulted with a real Dom on it, I decided to read it once I heard it stood alone. I haven't read any f-m-f books before, and I was a little nervous. But let me tell you right off the bat...there is NO f/f action at all.

Cami and Ziporah are as close as best friends can be. As roommates in college, Cami went through a terrible ordeal, and Ziporah was there to help put her back together. They are complete opposites, both in looks and personality. Cami is light, curvy, kind of shy and timid, and owns a great tavern. Zip is dark, small, and a prosecuting attorney. She has balls (not really!).

5 years after a boy made Cami lose all trust in men, she still hasn't healed, and can't move on. Through therapy, she has realized she is a sexual submissive, but she is not ready to put that theory into practice at all. Until some good friends decide to set her up with the perfect Dom. Still, Cami is not quite ready.
"This is the biggest roller coaster in creation and I feel like I have to ride it all alone with no safety harness...if only you were a sub too. Then I wouldn't have to do this alone. We could do it together."

But everyone knew Zip wasn't sub material.
"Zip, darlin', there isn't a submissive bone in your body," Cami told her, still laughing at the idea. Especially with men. You chew them up and spit them out like sunflower seeds."

But they agree for Zip to be a sub for the one night it takes to break Cami in.

Master Evan knew he was meeting Cami, but he couldn't get the small, tough, dark haired attorney he met earlier out of his mind. So when he walked into the tavern to meet Cami, and sees her dancing with the girl from earlier, he was frozen. 2 gorgeous women, and he wanted them both. Badly.

I love how Evan was able to read Cami right away and see the fear in her eyes. I love how his dominant personality forced her to be calm. And I love how he tested the waters with Z too, to see if she could be submissive as well.  Evan wasn't aware of the deal the girls made, so he was fretting all night about wanting both women.
"He found himself impossibly drawn to both women. EQUALLY. Looking at them and trying to choose felt as though he would have to pick between either his right eye or his left. Impossible."

Behind all of her bravado, the Doms think that Ziporah is a sub as well, so Evan agrees to introduce both of them to the life.

Embracing the Fall

Likes:

•I loved Master Evan. He really had such a good read on the women, and knew just what to do to bring out the best in both of them.
•There was never any instance where I felt jealous on behalf of one or the other.
•The women were definitely not jealous of each other. This was a great solution for them.
•Evan had NO issues satisfying both of them. No issues at all.
•Very hot sex.
•There was no f-f, just best friends (though Cami was a bit of a voyeur).
•I really liked both of the girls, and Cami was kind of a cute brat.
•There were some sweet light moments, and some exciting moments, and plenty of HOT moments.

Dislikes:

•It wasn't quite clear what exactly happened to Cami, it was obvious, and made clear throughout the book, but I felt like I missed something.

Rating: 4.25 Stars, 5 Heat

Lainey is great at writing the perfect Doms. Though I didn't read books 2 & 3 in the series, I did get to meet the Doms from them in Embracing the Fall, and Sweet Baby Jesus, I'd like to read more! These men pay attention to all the signs a woman produces. Evan was so attuned to both women, I'm not sure men like that really exist, but alas, that's why we read books. If you are looking for a totally hot read with an amazing Dom that can satisfy 2 women, grab Embracing the Fall, or start this series from the beginning. Just make sure you visit my Red Room first. It was really hard to rate this book. I decied to give it 3/5 stars but honestly I don't think I am the right person to listen to when it comes to this book.
But anyways... That was my first FFM book. I tried MMF and I had a mixed feelings. Here is similar. My problem is that I don't really enjoy most of the books where someone is sharing their partner because I just cannot understand it. And I mean all of the FFM FMM, RH etc. because even in opposite situation I would prefer my man to want me for himself and not share me with others. But in all honesty I think this kind of book is much better than the ones with cheating.
At least in this book I can accept that this is who they are and they do not get jelous. I don't get it because I cannot even imagine sharing my partner but I can accept that.
That is actually the only thing I don't like in the books. Cheating. And sharing is too similar for my taste. I can read really dark sh*t and it is ok but this is where I draw the line.
Since this is my first FFM book I don't really know how to rate it. ymm.. it was ok story, there was some drama, the story telling was ok, but there was no fireworks. To sum up I don't think I will be reading more of those books but I don't regret reading it, if that make sense.

‘Embracing the Fall’ is an erotic romance about two close female friends, Cami and Ziporah (Z), who fall into a loving three-way relationship with a man called Evan. The book is well-written, with great scene-setting and fun, engaging dialogue.
All three characters are charming and it’s interesting to follow their unconventional relationship as it develops. The two women are sexy as hell: one curvy and one athletic. Evan is hot too. And he’s a nice, caring, sincere guy. I feel he’s almost too nice (but that’s probably just my own deep-seated personality flaw;)
The book provides a great education regarding the proper, safe way to practise BDSM. Although, sometimes the educational bits can kind-of detract from the action. For example, partway through a sizzling sex-scene, Evan interrupts proceedings to give a mini-lecture on sensible birth control and sexual health management. Apart from that occasional issue, the erotic scenes are scintillating.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn proper BDSM etiquette… or who wants to read an FMF version of a traditional romance.

I've now read my first menage erotic romance (I think that's what this would be termed.). It was interesting to see how a different relationship dynamic played out. The story itself felt very simplistic--everyone was smokin' hot, had perfect steamy sex every time, and had little to no internal conflict. All conflict was external, with a one-dimensional villain and lots of past and present trauma. The relationship among the three characters, aside from nerves at the stages of development, was always totally perfect. I give kudos for representing a different lifestyle, both BDSM (which really was very light in this book) and even simply having one of the heroines proud of her Jewish heritage and her Bubbe. Even for the nods to geeks and Buffy fan-dom. I also appreciated that the F/M/F relationship didn't have to involve F/F action. The book just didn't really connect with me. I doubt I'll seek out more books by the author.

Evan Cami and Ziporah

We learned about Evan in the last book with Gage. I was very curious how everything was going to play out because we knew Cami was a submissive. But we weren’t clear about Ziporah. I won’t give any spoilers but it was cool the way everything worked out.

I applaud both Ziporah and Cami for following their dreams and going after what they wanted. Cami owning her own tavern and Ziporah becoming a district attorney. Lofty goals that they made come true.

I loved getting to know each character. And I loved how things worked out in the end. It’s always nice to wrap everything up in a book so there aren’t any loose strands sitting out there.

I would definitely recommend. I am having more sex because these sex scenes are incredible. Hot hot hot. You too can have more sex!!
