Five Star Series!

There are some great series in the apocalyptic/zombie/military genre....this series stands head and shoulders above.
This latest edition not only made me feel, as is par for the course in this fast paced fiction, but it made me feel upset, angry, scared. Only the best writing can pull that off well.
Looking forward to what comes next!

It's getting way too good!

I never like to putt any spoilers in reviews I read. So I am leaving it with,OMFG that ending......I'm on to the next! John is so close yet so far. Yes I recommend but start with book one and give it a shot. Great job!

Second Reading.

Loving this series even more the Second Time around. We are introduced to important new characters including one close to John. I liked Irina the first time around, and Martinez has been one of my favorite characters when I read the series the first time. At least in this book, Rachael reflects on the horrible position she put John in. Still do not like her character, her professed love for a married man, looking for his wife bothers me. She continues to want John to save her, when if she really loved him, she would realize her is saving the world, and then Katie. Sorry but I will never like her character. Her neediness and need to be with John is not right. If you love someone, set him free, of he returns it was meant to be. Tired of her chasing him and pushing herself down his throat. Guess that is why I like Irina and Martinez. Female characters t hast are noble. Find Rachel to be selfish and pushy. Great series start at book one and settle in for a great journey.

Better Red than Dead

The unwelcome guests from last episode’s cliffhanger have moved in permanently, and all the scattered swimmers are accounted for, if not reunited, in this volume, which provides all the excitement and zombie carnage we’ve come to expect from V Plague. I had to put it down at one point where it looked like John and his team weren’t going to make it back from their current pickle unscathed.

For the first time in the series, there is no star-crossed mass civilian evac (though there is a small nutjob liberation mission); the main adventure here is a covert ops mission to liberate some technology from behind enemy lines, which, of course, goes awry. There’s also an ominous side dish of military bureaucracy failing badly.

But what goes most awry is the slowly peaking third wave of the outbreak, which strikes random characters when you least expect it. The cliffhanger is of the end-of-a-horror-movie sequel-promising sort, rather than the toss-the-cast-into-the-river do-they-live sort.

So much action!

Dirk, you keep outdoing yourself. Where to start? Russians, intelligent infected, run away trains, freeing slaves?!?!, pitch black top secret bases filled with danger? Nukes? I fucking can, I and I will keep reading. This has been a page turning experience and I'm so pleased that this series was recommend to me through kindle unlimited. What a fun read. Your work is appreciated. Only, and I mean only gripe was the slave like talk the woman who secured the two little black girls when it was revealed their parents had dissapeared again. That is nothing compared to the amount of diversity and thought you have put into this series. One thing I keep going back to is the very first book. We had no idea that John was who he was. Best kept secret. I definitely thought he was just a regular guy. Character development is like no other in this book. Thank you! Cant wait to read more!

Another Exciting Book in the Series

I liked this book even more than the first books of the series. The adventures and missions continue and are breathlessly exciting. I would give the book a higher rating except for some of the grammar issues, and they are not dialectical. In this book, there are nuclear satchel bombs and stealth helicopters involved, as well as the same great characters. I highly recommend this book.

Drag

I'm not sure how many miles and several books later it has taken John Chase and Rachel to travel, but get on with it. Things get complicated for John and company, but they manage to get away. That's a good thing, and there may be other fireworks inn the making with Katie in the picture!!!

Political conflict, monsters, murder, mayhem.... this series has it all along with perfectly drawn characters you come to care about... and in some cases, even hate. Sweeping along at a swift pace, the pages fly by as you become more and more immersed in the characters' fight for survival.... A super series that will keep you glued to the pages book after book.....

For me this segment of the series was better than the previous one. Maybe this was because it was more like 3 stories woven together than like an ego rant. It has opened up a whole series of opportunities for the series to proceed and tantalize readers to keep them returning.

A holy F***

Cruising through this part of the riveting, "V," saga, an audible "HOLY FUC*!" escaped my lips as the last line was read. Don't cheat and skip, just wait for it, you won't be disappointed.

Better and better

I don't know how much more the author can improve. This book was awesome. You would think that after 4 300+ page books that things would get a little boring, but not so with this series. Fresh and full of action. I hated to put it down! Great characters.

Another cliffhanger - go figure! But I am EATING it up. I am really invested in these characters and it killed me to be away from reading about them all weekend (plans got in the way!). These series is one of the best I have read and I am so enjoying every page.

THEY KEEP COMING...

The story and the characters engaged the readers and really help to read them in order. The characters played in a AZ with all their might to survive.

Old characters returns and not for good many of them but new characters will be Allies? Keep Reading

What a rush, the V Plague and mother nature team up against our dynamic duo

You gotta love a book series that changes some, but not all of the rules. I can't get over what Dirk Patton has done with this episode.

Bummer a warrior was lost, but the fight continues. Again, good story built up on all characters and the story itself is very believable because of all the man-made virus’s that different country’s experiment.
Anyhow, the fight for the USA continues.

Yet another great effort from Mr. Patton. These books have a way of growing on you. When so many books in a series tend to deteriorate over time, this one just keeps rolling along. Patton did it again with this novel, he came up with entirely new and different scenarios...infected on a crowded train, infected in a pitch dark stairwell above and below the survivors...Russian invasion, and even tornadoes. Whew, yet again I am diving into the next book in the series.

As of my second reading, there is really nothing I can add to my previous review. I am thoroughly enjoying the second reads as much as the first. It's amazing how time has a way of letting little important details slip one's mind, and I'm enjoying the reminder very much.

What can I say? This series is getting better and better. I really enjoy the characters a lot, I think they are really growing on me. John is military through and through, that might be a turn off for some people but I like the fact that he deals with the bigger picture and not his own personal issues. He cares more about what is happening than he lets on. He will get the job done! I can't say I was happy with where this book left off, thank goodness I didn't have to wait for the next book to come out. I can't wait to read more of this story. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes ZA but yet also wants a personal interest story. This has a lot of both.

The action continues in this fourth book of the 'V Plague series'! Immediately picking up where the third book ended, John Chase, Rachel, and Dog are all separated....and still fighting to survive. This book alternates with chapters between the characters, detailing their situations and challenges with an unbelievably fast pace. I had to read this in a single sitting! Intense and raw with incredible obstacles and challenges that just won't stop! Very well written and highly recommended...just be sure to start this series with the first book. And hold on for the ride!

I am so glad I started this series with 10 books already out! Immediately getting the next book has become the norm! Wow! Again, I am having trouble finding time to sleep or put this series down! Great pacing, characters, and the little details has me with a new favorite author. Really can't say enough about how much I am enjoying this series!

Hurry up and get book, start a series you'll have a hard time putting down!

The book kept my interest every page. I did not like the story of Roach. I think the author was doing very well without adding this person and story to this book. I would recommend this book to anyone

That likes to keep the pages turning with excitement. I am anxious to see how this story developes especially now that John's wife has entered the story.
