My life is split into two realities. Before Code. And after him.

The first time I saw him, he walked into my father’s bank with the strut of a man who knows exactly what he wants. I saw in him a fearlessness that I desperately wanted, needed, craved as much as my next breath.

Because I was watching him, I knew immediately when he pulled out a gun, aimed it at t

I don't know if it's because I just came off a great book-week filled with some awesome reads or what, but I just can't even with this book.

For several reasons.

1 - Grammar: The majority of the time, I can overlook typos, incorrect word usage (there vs. their), and/or poor syntax. But this book was a soup sandwich.

2 - Dislikeable "Heroine" (I use this term loosely): This c

Disclaimer: Normally when the MC’s “best friend” has stolen MC’s boyfriend and the MC just sits back and takes it, I will close the book. This is a dealbreaker for me. You are telling me the MC won’t stand up for herself and she doesn’t expect loyalty from those closest to her—she doesn’t value herself, and I can’t connect with that. I’m not going to invest in a doormat, and whether or not there’s character growth basically doesn’t matter to me at that point. This is a level of spinelessness I can’t get behi35%

Tons and tons and TONS of potential here!

The synopsis for Hostage reeled me in hook, line, and sinker. As soon as I read it, I knew that I HAD to read this book! The prologue ROCKED! Check out these lines:

"..after Code is all brilliant, star-fire-bright clarity."

"I saw in him a fearlessness that I desperately wanted, needed, craved as much as my next breath."

I mean, really...SO GOOD, right?!?

Getting further into the story, I loved the f

I kind of liked this book. The concept was maybe a little cheesy with the main hero or in this case bad turn good guy Code aka Cody kidnapping the heroine Wren during a botched up bank robbery. The only way out of the mess and chaos for the robbery for Cody is to take a hostage which is Wren who goes to the bank to have lunch with her father who is the president of the bank.

While on the run both Wren and Cody become lovers, friends and partners. There is

Code is a bad boy who wants out of a bad situation. Wren is a little broken from her past.

They meet during a bank robbery. Action, adventure, suspense, and sexy fulled story. One look changes the outcome of the day. One glance across the room and Wren is choosen to be a hostage by Code. On the run can he keep her from causing problems and getting him caught?

I liked both the characters but would have loved more background and feeling for the characters. Felt as tho

I read this in one sitting. I found it to be a gripping read. It wasn't as dark as I thought it would be.

Code robs a bank and then kidnaps Wren. This is their story. While reading this I was continuously thinking how is this book going to end. The author did a great job at keeping me guessing and yes I agree totally with the ending. Wouldn't want it any other way.

If your looking for a read that's on the dark side then I recommend this. Looking forward to more stories from this author.

Not as dark as I thought it was gonna be... even though it was sweet I loved it! Pretty much new where it was gonna go but it was such a nice relaxing read that I couldn't help myself from loving it. Having enjoyed myself way more than getting all tore up over a book, I looked for other works by this author and couldn't find any as this well may have been the first. Will definitely keep my eye out as N S Moore will definitely be on my to read shelf of
In general just couldn't get into the book.

One of the first scenes is of the heroine having sex with another guy.

good read,

did enjoy it and likes the happy ending :-)
Is there anything more star-crossed than falling for your captor who takes you hostage and demands you stay with him until he crosses the Mexican border? Possibly—but this is still pretty high up there. And what if to make matters worse it was your dad’s bank he robbed in the first place? Probably not the healthiest start to a successful relationship...

Wren doesn’t know a lot about healthy relationships though. She was violated by her stepfather at the age of 10 and has spent the remainder of h

If you’ve ever seen the movie Point Break and thought that bank robbers can actually be kinda hot well then just wait to you meet Code…

But first you meet Wren. Wren is a people pleaser, a push-over, and can’t say no. That is until her nineteenth birthday when an otherwise random day at her dad’s bank changes her entire life.

The robber catches her eye before she even knows he’s robbing the bank. And she’s caught his attention too. Code is there with a job to do but it does

I enjoyed this book but will say straight up that it was much lighter than I expected. I was thinking along the lines of a heroine suffering from Stockholm Syndrome when I read the Synopsis but that is not what you get.

Wren is a prim and proper bank managers daughter who had a shitty upbringing. To compensate for that, she finds she is a “Yes” girl. She gives people what they want and just goes with the flow so she fits in. When she turns up at her dads bank for a lunch date the last

Hostage is a very, very GOOD novel by N.S. Moore. I was sucked in to the story from the very first page and wasn't able to put down the book until it was finished.
This is told in the dual perspectives of Code and Wren. They "meet" when Code robs a bank. Wren is there meeting her father so they can go to lunch when the robbery goes down. Of course Code is a complete jerk when he first takes Wren. I mean he IS a criminal and obviously a bank robber. But there is more to him than th

I liked this book but this is one twisted love story between two unlikely people. This book has action, suspense, sexy times, and one sexy bad boy who is just trying to break free. This book does have some content that may offend others so be warned. It is raw, real, dirty, and seriously sexy.

This is Code and Wren's story (and can I say that I love their names??!!). Code is about to do something big.. rob a bank. And when it goes wrong, he realizes he has

Ugh. Have you ever read a book you wanted to love? Like you were forcing yourself to keep reading in hopes it would give you more? That was this book for me.

It by no means was horrible. In fact it was great, and I did love it. However there were some parts I just couldn't handle. The sex scenes were HOT. BUT the conversations, and dirty talking was far to fake for me. That's more so a personal opinion. The book was good, action packed, suspenseful and very well written. To me it just lacked som

so much potential!!

I'm a new reader to N.S. Moore and she's snagged me as a fan. Overall this book was really good. I liked the way the book was written from dual POVs and also the tone of voice. It was actually a very entertaining story line. Code, by far, is the dominant and best performing character, even though the book is equally split between him and Wren. I think where it could use a little more maturity is around the love scenes. Wren becomes this cheesy porno star with her lines. "I love

I loved loved loved this book. I liked this storyline of the hostage falling for her kidnapper because Code deep down is not a bad person. His life hasn't been perfect and he made some horrible choices but deep down he wants to be a good person and he wants love. Wren has had an even harder life and she is pretending. Pretending she is happy, pretending she is ok with her perfectly structured life, pretending she doesn't want to break free and get a little wild. Code changes her. He shows her (m ...more
I really love the front cover and those SHOES- mmmmmmmmm, very nice!

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the sample. That heroine would seriously annoy the crap out of me! Completely spineless and gutless and spoilt! And the fact that she's nineteen ditz is the clincher for me and I am definitely not going to read this one.

The hero is also a spoilt, hard done by brat and if either of them were my child I'd want to mess them up.

Code and Wren meet when he robs her father's bank. Wren is taken hostage and their journey begins. Wren is definitely damaged and has issues. Code is trying to find freedom and going about it in an unusual way. Wren finds herself stuck with Code and winds up letting him know a lot about her. Code finds Wren to be unusual and decides that he doesn't want to let her go. Their tale was unusual and dark in parts. Overall a good read. There were grammatical and typographical errors that didn't take a ...more

I struggled with this. I found myself skimming over paragraphs, and then pages. Loved the idea of Wren and Code's story, and how they come together, but I think the writing was quite juvenile in places. A very quick read, but not in a good way.
Read to the end, although I had figured out how it was going to wind up, I was still happy with how it ended.

Content/storyline wise I enjoyed this book. It was an interesting premise, but was sorely in need of a good editor. The grammar mistakes were glaring and distracting. I also got rather annoyed with Wren. Code I kind of loved though! If only the whole book was told from his point of view.

Great story that hot. The characters jumped out of the pages. N.S. Moore knows how to write a story that will keep you wanting.

A great plot line BUT how it plays out is a bit too far fetched, even for fiction. 3 stars for the potential factor.
