I came across this book when I was assisting a patron in the art section. She didn't end up needing this book, so I took it!

This book is very basic, but what drew me to it was the cool pages; it's one of those books that have clear pages with only a bit of text/picture on them, so when you turn the page you get a whole new picture!

I know nothing about art, so it was nice seeing a handful of famous paintings with only a few facts and cool pictures! ...more

Children surprise us if they are introduced to Art and Art History at a young age. I find they discover and uncover history, meaning, and symbolism in art that is often overlooked by adults. This book encourages children to look and to think about how history is reflected in art, and how they relate to it. It doesn't tell them what to think, just to take basic principles and be curious and investigative. More books like these please... ...more
