What I enjoyed most about SHATTERED TRUST is that the hero wasn't a billionaire alpha playboy that is popular in so many romances right now. In this one we get Liam St. James who is basically a drifter and never stays in one place long enough to set down roots and develop long term relationships. Liam is in his 30's with no intention of staying in the small town of Trustworthy, Texas. Liam only planned on staying as long as it took to make enough money to move along to the next larger city. Liam ...more

For more than two decades, Kate had built not just a wall, but a fortress around herself. And iron tank that no one, save Sedona, had breached. And now, in less than sixty seconds, she was waxing poetic about a stranger from “across a crowded room?” And a younger man to boot. What was wrong with her?

Kate Landry gave her trust to the wrong man once and it nearly destroyed her; completely alone, young, scared

Shattered Trust by Lynda Bailey couldn't have a more fitting title! Kate grew up with a father who put everyone elses needs before her own. Once she got a small taste of freedom, Kate ended up putting her life in the hands of a man who treated her as though she was an object to be used for his needs and the needs of others, with zero regard to her free will. Once she broke free, Kate found herself alone and

SHATTERED TRUST is a beautiful BDSM themed romance with two characters that I grew fond of very quickly. It’s a nice and refreshing touch that both characters are not in their twenties anymore – Kate, the heroine, is forty-two and Liam, the hero, is in the beginning of his thirties.

A long time ago Kate Landry, daughter of an overzealous minister, gave her heart – and body – to the wrong man. He took advantage of her, used her insecurities against her, abused her – and left her shattered, broken

Have you ever been afraid to trust? To feel? To love?
Have you ever felt ill just by the thought of being touched? To be held? To be kissed?
Have you ever felt so alone, that you are content to throw yourself into your work?
Welcome to Kathryn Landry’s world.
Owner of Bluebird Saloon and Grill, she returns home after a disastrous vacation her daughter Sedona treated her for her birthday.
But what she walks into completely rattles her.

Just a note before you start reading this—though this book is labeled BDSM (which it truly is), don’t expect the sex to be instant. You have to get deeper into the book before that happens. However, you must keep in mind that BDSM doesn’t always require “sex” to be pleasurable and/or orgasmic. So, don’t give up on the story just because they aren’t going at it against a wall in the second chapter. Be patient. Liam knows what he’s doing, and he will show you a good time.

This book was more than just a story about BDSM. This was a story about rediscovering love, trust and forgiveness. As we see both Kate Landry and Liam St. James fight their way against their demons, they realize that they need each other more than they thought.

Kate Landry was always sort of a pawn to few men in her life; starting with her father. He did not do anything physically bad to her but the verbal and mental abuse she suffered as his hand caused her to look for love in the wrong

Shattered Trust starts out the new Trustworthy Texas Trilogy with a bang. This is an erotic story about two people who have both been dealt bad hands in life but found a way to live despite the ghosts of their past. Kate was young and pregnant when she was cruelly abandoned and betrayed. She pulled herself up by her bootstraps to become a successful business owner and raise her daughter but she is looking for something more. Liam lost the girl that he loved and has been aimlessly wandering ...more

Shattered Trust is a work your way up to the heat kind of book. It is definitely worth the wait too. The read keeps your attention and reminds you that hot kink is not for just the young people. Also, not all BDSM books needs to be all sex.

Kate's heart may be filled with the love for her daughter, but it's a broken heart. She is in her forties and has raised a beautiful daughter on her own. Kate tries her best to forget not only her daughter's father, but her own as well. Enter Liam, who also

Kate Landry, the daughter of an overzealous preacher, trusted her heart and body to the wrong person. This man took advantage of her insecurities and vulnerable self-image only to use her and leave when she became pregnant. Years later with her daughter grown, Kate is still unable to forget about the past. Liam St James was just passing through town looking for temporary work in Kate’s bar. He was a dominate and exactly what Kate needed. When Liam pushed Kate to do things that were outside her

When I know a story I am going to read has BDSM in it I am looking forward to some really kinky stuff. The author of Shattered Trust eased the BDSM in this book. We got a story line first. We saw the hurt that a bad Dom/Sub relationship can do to a person. How broken it can make someone. On top of having a bad experience in that scenario but to also have daddy issues on top of that. You couldn’t help but feel for Kate. She looked like she had everything together unless you really looked deep ...more

This started out with Kate arriving home after being on a ship for 2 weeks when it was suppose to be a lot shorter. Now she meets Liam. He is sexy and came into her bar and changed things so she is not big on change and fires him on the spot. Then one of the guys that have been friends and worked for her for years convinces her to rehire him. Even know she thinks he is bad news.
These two have combustible chemistry it steamed up my screen. Liam doesn't want to settle down so he keeps Kate at

This read gives you a view of a healthy BDSM relationship. You find that sometimes something that is broken can be fixed with a few kind words and actions. Even when Liam knew that Kate needed to see a professional but couldn't afford it, he took on the job of helping her overcome her fear. Things from her past caused Kate to shut herself off some everyone, even the one person that meant the most to her, her daughter. Liam so see that it not just his need to help people that has attracted him to ...more

I received an advanced reader copy of Shattered Trust in exchange for an honest review.

Kate and Liam are drawn together, even though neither wants the other. Liam is decidedly dominant, and that freaks the hell out of Kate because one man, a long time ago, took advantage of her submissive nature and hurt her badly. Used her up and threw her away.
Shattered Trust starts out pretty mild, and I was wondering why it was considered even remotely BDSM...keep reading..LOL

I really enjoyed this read. I think what I loved most was that this author didn't feel the need to over fill the book with sex. I not only got the hot steamy sex from this author, but I also go a real story to go along with it. It was the perfect balance. Real people with real problems and then the hot and steamy. It was bit of a build up to the hot and steamy, but it was well worth the wait.

I really liked Kate's character. She has had a rough past, but it doesn't stop her from succeeding

Looks like I just found another author to keep my eye out for. This was an extremely well written story with some really hot scenes.

When Kates heart was broken she was left to bring her daughter up by herself. Even now when her daughter has grown up Kate still finds it hard to move on from her past.
Enter Liam who's a very sexy dominant. Both of these have trust and communication issues.

This is a really great bdsm romantic story. Highly recommend.

Kate ran away from everything a long time ago so she could raise her daughter in peace. Life is great but she is still lonely and hasn't let another man touch her in years. Liam comes to work at Kate's bar, and they start a hidden friendship. Liam has been running from his past as well. Will Liam and Kate be able to heal, and find love in each other or will they be destroyed once again?

For me, romances are almost as good as dark chocolate and red wine. Almost. :)

I've been writing for twenty years and have been lucky enough to final in numerous national contests, including the 2010 Golden Heart.

I reside in Reno, NV with my husband of thirty years and our two pampered pooches. I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. (Please note: my heat level is
