Crimson Rooster is a short but utterly entertaining romp through the heart of Doc Savage land, 'El Plato,' Missouri. Author Lambert had me chuckling from the very first sentence, and the subtle and not-so-subtle nods to Doc Savage fandom kept me smiling throughout.

A fun read for any Doc Savage fan! Mark Lambert took pieces of the pulp fandom and Doc Savage fans and turned it into a roller coaster ride of mystery and mayhem! It will sit proudly on my shelf of Doc novels and pastiches.

What a fun, quick read! I haven’t read pulp magazines/dime novels, but I did enjoy watching Scooby Doo as a kid — and this is a lot like those silly/fun cartoons. Scooby fans will enjoy this!
