I enjoyed certain parts of this book and always liked Kelly Brook, but I have come away from reading this book thinking she is cold and unfeeling and more than a little money and 'Kelly Brook Brand' orientated! Definitely not the woman I thought she was!

This book was much derided in the media but I am glad I read it. I do think the press are out to get her and she is one of their chosen 'punch-bags'. There is inbuilt misogyny in certain parts of society which manifests in a belief that a woman cannot be attractive and smart. Kelly Brook comes from a humble background and she has done well for herself. She is probably best known for her glamour work but she was only working full time in that world for 1 - 2 years. Even she admits that turning to glamour work was a last resort but what else could she do? She needed to pay her way, and she didn't have a wealthy family to support her through more stage school. I admired her honesty throughout the book, she doesn't shy away from tough subjects e.g. her role in the demise of her relationship with Jason Statham. Kelly comes across well. She is a grafter, a family person with a lot of female friends (clearly a gal's gal). She also has a head for business, learning about copyright and setting up her own agency so that she could control the syndication of her photos. Lots of good photos including ones from her personal collection. An engaging read.

I loved this autobiography, as I admire Kelly Brook. After scrolling through negative reviews, I wasn't disheartened. Kelly came across to me as real and down to earth, she explains her choices well, and although I can see why some people pass judgements on her, I think she was pretty well justified to punch her boyfriend in the face for cheating on her multiple times! She didn't beat him, she's not a man beater, he cheated on her with lots of other women so although I disagree with violence, I can understand why she would want to do such a thing! Kelly clearly worked hard to be where she is now, after many disappointments, she has come out on top. I admire her. I didn't give it more than three stars because I think that it was a little repetitive at times or hard to follow, but I did enjoy it!
