Detective David Cole is shot in the line of duty and forced to take time off. He goes back to his home town to rest only to discover the first in a series of grisly murders. Can he help the local police find the Crucifier before it is too late? Find out when you read Fall From Grace.
This was much shorter than a lot of novels around and I was apprehensive that the story would feel rushed and incomplete. I needn’t have worried however as this was far from being the case. For a short detective story it still managed to pack in a lot of what you want from this type of novel, multiple murders, multiple suspects, good red herrings to make you think the culprit is someone their not and a good dynamic between the main detectives. The writing was good and the characters felt real and believable and even if the cliché of big city detective going home to small town and getting involved in unexpected murders was done well so that you felt it wasn’t just done for the sake of it. Overall it was an easy read and enjoyable, and I will be keeping an eye out for more of Tammy’s work in the future
Oh how I love mysteries! If anyone is looking for a good thriller and mystery book, this is the book you should read. Tammy Lynn Acuff does a wonderful job. I could not put the book down because I felt like I was put in these situations. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. For those who do not enjoy reading, this is the book for you because it keeps you captivated in the story line. There is never a dull moment in this book. I loved the book and those who like mystery books will also enjoy it as well.
I just finished reading this book today, and I absolutely loved it! It kept me guessing throughout, which was great. The characters were very realistic and dynamic, and the plot was riveting. Overall, this book is a really great murder-mystery with an excellent, interesting plot! I can't wait for the next book in this series!
I highly recommend this book! It is a great novel to read. It was very interesting, and so intriguing that it is very hard to stop, and put the book down. Many books do not have that connection with the reader but " Fall From Grace" does. It pulls you in right from the start. One of the best books I ever read.
Tammy Acuff has written a thrilling page turner mystery! The story is filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing as to who the serial killer is, and what their motive is. Some of the descriptions of the crime scenes can be a little gory, but it is definitely an enjoyable read!
For me its hard to find a good mystery book that keeps me interested and enticed, but from the very beginning this book had me hooked and I couldn't put it down. The writing and narration of the book are outstanding. Highly recommend!!!
Tammy Acuff does an amazing job of making Fall from Grace a must read! It's a real nail biter. One of the most suspenseful and most thought provoking books i have read in a while, i would recommend this author to anyone who is looking to be kept on the edge of their seat!
When Detective David Cole is injured in the line of duty he goes back to his home town to rest. Just in time for a series of murders to occur committed by the 'Crucifier.' An interesting read, plenty of murders especially for such a short book. And I didn't guess the killer.
Loved this book! Absolute page-turner until the very end! I love a good ending and this definitely had one!! Can't wait to read more books from this author!! Thumbs up!!!!
My sleep definitely suffered while reading this book. I would keep promising myself "just one more chapter!" Wish it didn't have to end. Creepy and suspenseful.
Fall From Grace is an amazing book!! I loved every part of it. If you enjoy murder-mystery books this one is definitely one for you! I highly recommend it!
This book was pretty good. Felt more like a soft mystery. I found it hard to stay interested. But the writing was very good. Just not my type of mystery.
The story is a twist-and-turn-filled mystery, which made for a good story. I had a million different ideas on who the guilty party was. I was wrong on all of them. There was no way for any reader to know before the Prologue due to not meeting the characters before then. However, the prologue finished he story perfectly.
But there were many things I could not get past: Very short chapters - several chapters did not feel finished before the next one began. Weird editing with the page numbers and the author's name appearing at random locations. I saw another review mentioned this and the editor responded by saying to download the newest version. I did this, but the issue is still there. Punctuation needed help - commas should be placed before and after a person's name in the middle of a sentence when speaking to that person. Few other locations with different punctuation issues. Grammar- when using 'granny' as a name, it becomes a proper name. (Ex.1 That is Troy's granny. Ex.2 Did you know Granny is Troy's grandmother? Ex.3 Thank you, Granny, for the coffee.)
Some of the characters needed more depth to their stories, their make-up. Some were lacking in details. Some questions were never answered either. (How does Troy not set off the buzzer? What was the pouch for that Granny gave to David? He never used it, and with mentioning it several times, I was sure that part of the story would be brought to a closure, but it didn't happen.)
However, for a first book, it is good! I give the author props for putting it out there and for the story idea...it is a good one.
