This series continues to get better and I'm honestly quite liking it, there's plenty of action, as well as a sense of adventure and discovery. This comes from the fact that the characters are constantly moving to unfamiliar places that have many secrets to uncover. What drives them to search these hostile environments is to find the shards of legend to stop Amanda's gradual degradation into a force of unimaginable evil. This is a pretty Original plot point and it keeps the action going as well as a clear reason for it to happen. The only bad thing I can say about this book is that despite the countless near death experiences all the characters face they always come out of it alive. Which isn't entirely a bad thing since I have become quite attached to the characters but it really detracts from the sense of danger the action provides since I know that they will always come out of it alive. Honestly sometimes I'm left scratching my head as to how they keep surviving all that's thrown at them, in the end I just feel a bit numb to the danger they're in due to this.

Fantastic book with cliff hanger ending. Amanda and friends find themselves in a very big battle, one they don't understand. Can they survive this one too? This book will keep you on the edge of your seat Wondering what will happen next,and what creatures they will encounter.
