Read this while taking classes from Mr Cockerell. He was an inspirational teacher and it was fascinating to see the work that was done in his workshop.

I didn't love this book, even though I'm certainly going to keep it (I actually handbound my copy) and keep it as a bookbinding reference.

I think that this book would be best used as a reference where one might read individual chapters if you are working on a certain technique. That being said, it has wonderfully descriptive and easy to understand chapter “how tos” on vellum binding and edge gilding.
