Chris C - A Midlife Wife
This is the first time I have read this author and was looking forward to a great romance novel set in a small town. These types of books are fun for the additional character development that will spin off into other books in the future. So for me the first book is the most important.

I had a total buy in with the main characters from the beginning. A strong leading lady and a hot leading guy with sparks coming off everywhere. There is plenty of anticipation and build up to the romanc

Awesome book! I love the books in this Blueberry Cove series and this is a great addition. Hannah McCrae is returning to Blueberry Cove after a huge scandal in DC has uprooted her well planned life. Calder Blue is in the Cove to find out why he is being offered a construction job even after he purposely overbid the job. When the two meet during a small traffic mishap there is an intense attraction but neither is looking for any kind of relationship. These two seem to keep running into each other ...more

This was a quick reading beach read but can be read at any time of year. It was reminiscent to me of books by Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis, Erin Nicholas and Carly Phillips to name a few. The characters all have strong ties to family and their town – in this case Blueberry Cove, Maine, a small town I wouldn’t mind living in.

There was some suspense and a mystery

Kauffman has definitely done it again. This novel was a fantastic, approachable read with all the bells and whistles. The characters in this novel have the ‘awww’ happy kind of love. It’s fantastic. There is such unmistakable tenderness throughout. Readers also get to experience the Maine coast & small town life via Kaufmann’s picturesque writing. I’ll admit, at the beginning, even though I was enjoying the story, I was wondering exactly what direction it was heading in. By about 20% through ...more

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads

This is a lovely read, with a good dose of romance, a mystery, and a host of interesting characters from a small coastal community of Maine. The leads are genuinely good people, who you cannot fail to admire, and want as friends (they are too into each other to expect more ;-0 ) There was enough community building that future stories will feature familiar characters, but not too many. The twist was clever, and the themes of family, tr

I enjoyed this 1st in a series by Donna Kauffman. I enjoy most books taking place in or around water and this one was no exception. The scenery was beautifully described. I really could envision the cove in Maine. All the characters, particularly Hannah and Calder, were well thought through. The storyline kept me interested and reading even when I should have been working on another project. I enjoyed the small town feel to the book, the fact that everybody knew everybody else. It was a fun book ...more

I love small town books and this one was another lovely read.

Hannah goes back to Blueberry Cove to attend her brother’s wedding- but has a car accident on her way in. A new man in town, Calder Blue is there to make sure she’s ok and there is a spark of attaraction.
Her sister wanted them all to attend the rehearsal dinner in their WORST bridesmaid dress from the past which provided a funny scene when Hannah has to run errands in hers.

Omg! What a great story! I absolutely fell in love with Calder and Hannah! Their timeline in falling in love was kind of fast, about 4 days, but it worked for them. It wasn't exactly love at first sight but the way Ms. Kauffman wrote the story it was very believable that these two were able to fall in love in just 4 days. Love story aside there was also a bit of mystery and intrigue involved that made me not want to put the book down until I finished it. Loved every moment of this book. It was j ...more

This is a wonderful addition to Ms Kauffman's series about Blueberry Cove, Maine, and it's inhabitants. While it's helpful to have read others about this town, this novel can also be read as a stand alone. I liked both main characters, Hannah Macrae, a litigator in DC, and Cauldef Blue, a construction guy from St. Croix River Blues ...split by a many years old feud from the Blues of Blueberry Cove. The plot involved suspense and it moved at a pace that kept my interest.

I loved the characters and the town. It had amusing parts and the romance wasn't lacking. I can't wait to read about her sisters.

Fun start to the new series. Hannah is on her way home for her brother Logan's wedding (Pelican Point). Her family doesn't know that she's coming home to stay after a relationship gone wrong that also wrecked her career, and she hopes to keep it that way until after the wedding. The last thing she expects is to be involved in a car accident and rescued by a hot visitor to the town, putting her "no men" resolution at risk.

This book reminds me of the expression, "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl." When Hannah McCrae heads home to Blueberry Cove for her brother's wedding, she is planning on staying. Not only is she running from a disastrous romance but she has quit her job. She misses her family and the small town atmosphere but is afraid to tell her family what happened. On her way into town she almost runs into Calder Blue, who is from the arm of the Blue fa ...more

The part of the book that is the actual romance is great but the majority of the book is a lot of other stuff.

Apparently there is an entire Blueberry Cove series but this is my first book in the series and my first book by this author. I can tell you that you don’t need to read any of the other books to follow this one so if you are concerned, don’t be. I don’t often venture into small town romance because I’m too much of a big city lover so take everything I say with that bias in mi

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour for a fair and honest review. I rated it 4 out of 5 Stars.

A light hearted contemporary romance, Sea Glass Sunrise by Donna Kauffman is the first book in the Brides of Blueberry Cove series, a spin-off from her Bachelors of Blueberry Cove series. Set in a small fictional town in Maine, Ms. Kauffman’s story is filled with colorful characters, family drama, a sizzling romance and a touch of comedy. While tied to anot

This was a more thrilling story than I was expecting. With a whodunit that I didn't realize was going to be part of the novel. I really liked and connected with Hannah and her life drama as well as the need to not burden her family with her problems. I also really liked Calder Blue, except for his issues with women who want to be independent. He viewed independence in women specifically as a shield covering emotional dependence. I understood his thought process but I also felt that it wasn't the ...more

It was the book title and cover that first caught my attention. I've read Donna Kauffman's books before and somehow I feel her books are a hit and miss for me. Nevertheless I decided to try this new series out especially since it had such a beautiful name.

The story did start off slow in my opinion. It included lots of details and thanks to the 2 strong leading characters, they managed to stand out. The connection between the McCraes were something heartwarming and it was nice seeing

Donna Kauffman is what I like to call a solid author. Meaning that up front I know I will truly enjoy her new story, easily connect with the characters and at the end it will leave me with a big smile on my face.

It’s been a while since I read one of her books, so I was very happy I got a chance at her new series and it didn’t disappoint. I truly love small town romances, where everyone is in each other’s business, while there is still so much drama all around and somehowstars

Read the second of the series before I read this one, but it doesn't matter. They both stand alone. The heroine is a high-powered lawyer coming home from DC to change her life after a bad breakup. The hero is a contractor in his father's business who has come to town to investigate the circumstances around a peculiar contract, and perhaps find out about a family feud that's been lingering for generations. They meet when she runs a brand new stop sign and crashes into a sign to keep from hitting ...more

This had been on my TBR list for a while now and as I also want to read/listen to the second Christmas-themed book I thought I'd better read this first, as I do like reading books in a series in the right order! I've only fairly recently started reading Donna Kauffman books with the Blue Hollow Falls series, but I love that series so much I've looked up her other books as I really enjoy her style of writing.

This book is about Hannah McCrae, a DC lawyer, who is back in Blueberry Cove

I received this book free from the author as a prize I had won from a Facebook party. I am voluntarily choosing to review it. This is my first book from Donna Kauffman and it won't be the last. I really enjoyed this story. This is the first in a series, but can be read as a standalone. For me, this story felt like coming home to something familiar. All the people and places were familiar in that it felt like a family I would want. Donna Kauffman's writing is so clear and concise I could easily p ...more

I’m loving the Blueberry Cove books. This is Hannah and Calder’s story. She’s coming back to town from D.C. for her brother’s wedding. She doesn’t tell the family yet that she’s staying, not wanting to take away from the wedding. She literally almost runs into Calder, who has come to check out a contractor job he purposely overbid on. And they keep running into each other. There’s a mystery about the job, a generations-old feud, and an explosion, that keeps the story interesting; and the charact ...more

This is my first read by this author and I can promise you that it won't be my last. I love how the main character, Hannah, is a strong willed, independent woman that is determined to make it. This book has it all romance, mystery and great main characters. I love how the author makes you feel like you are at Blueberry Cove with all the characters.

A really great read that I think all readers will enjoy. I will be looking for more from this author for sure!

Confession time: I checked out the story because it was narrated by Amanda Ronconi and stayed for the story. I had never heard of the author. Yes I have been hiding under a rock. Her characters are very likeable. The story was addictive. There was romance, suspense, good and evil. Everything I enjoy in a book. Time to check out book 2.

I enjoyed the story that centered around three sisters and their love for each other. The main character was Hannah, the oldest sister. I like love stories, too, but do not appreciate all the steamy sex scenes. I would have liked those to be left to my imagination.
This book is like to many that I like to read easy, fast romance with a little drama. I was so interested in the characters I bought the second book in the series to start next. We will see how it goes.

Very sweet listen. The narration and production were very good. A women in distress, a great guy, some trouble and turmoil and the eventual happily ever after. Somewhat formulaic, but quite enjoyable and heartwarming.

While this in the end turned out to be a decent read, I believe that the number of characters kept the story cluttered. The story could have resolved itself about 100 pages sooner than it did. It is not one of my favorites. I do not plan to read the remainder of the series.
