Classic attempt. Excellent Narration. You don't get to see the typical SLB sir in this book. He has crossed his barrier once again to show what he is capable of. This book shows all his hardwork and preparations.

The story seems very simple inthe outline. 2 Astronauts, A male and a Female sets out on an epic journey from out of this universe to the Proxima Centauris galaxy leaving behind the earth forever. This is one part of the novel.

The main crux of the novel opens up when this mission was la

This book brings human feelings playing with the scientific milestone. It is a scientific fictional story of two people who are sent on a voyage by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) to the nearest star Proxima Century. This book makes us live in space for two days. It is philosophical, logical as well as enjoyable. The author bring out the sarcasm, when science overrides the human feelings. another epic book by S.L. S.L.Bhyrappa never ceases to amuse us! This story is one of the interesting I have read. The suspense and the grappling commentary by the two protagonists can make us not to keep the book down. Such is the language used in the book. I was very much surprised also to know that the author had this idea from the year 1960's which is mentioned in the Hinnudi!

A truly surprising science fiction from the renowned author. The amount with which the author had understood the two protagonists in his own w

Subject on which novel story is built is new to kannada literature and it is good.
Should appreciate the research author did on those topics.
But should have given a better ending to the book, Looks like he has abruptly ended the story.

Taking a taboo subject, hitherto largely untouched in Kannada literature by popular writers, SL Bhayrappa mixes science, philosophy, current affairs and environmental concerns and narrates a gripping story. The characters are well developed, the narrative is lucid. A couple of small parts in the narrative seems superfluous, unnecessary to the point of dumbing the story down, just to give a proper closure and tie up all loose ends, it is not a major grouse though. I guess it serves its purpose fo ...more

A fantastic fiction.
Who else other than Dr. SLB can get these thoughts?

The imagination of sending human to another galaxy for years together is unimaginable.
The narration of feelings of a person (could be man or woman) is brought out very well.

I would thank Dr. SLB for a great work.

Although there are lot of spelling errors which contributed by one after the other edition printing continuously, the books as said by author a non-science fiction. but I believe current timeline might have to be changed to accommodate this work.
on the other hand in the end we see the narrator I.e Sudharshan's suddenly changes to Uttara and to Yadav (ha) and back to Uttara and back to Sudharshan continuously. the only thing is I don't know how Yadav's writing came to be in that middle.

Amazing depiction of conflict of minds. Very well written details on technology, thinking 50-60 years ahead of current times. What I liked is, with all these advancements, human minds need social support and love of family members which can never be replaced by anything. Hats off to the author for such great mind work in penning this book. Even though the story is set with science fiction, the core is human mind, Indian society and cultural aspects. Must Read!

The way the narration is EXCELLENT. I feel no one can write a story on Feeling & Emotions like this. Journey of 2 astronauts their feelings and views.

I was irritated at some point. I used to feel why the author write like this. After reading few other books of his, i understood he hold the grip and give it to us to drive. That is his strength.

Simply brilliant. Apart from contemplating on the physics of space travel, this story is more of an internal journey and makes one question everything that is taken for granted on Earth. It leads one towards Spirituality. The journey to Proxima Centauri is an external manifestation of a profound inner journey. Dr.S.L.Byrappa is my favourite author for a very good reason.

Does not live the expectation of Bhairappa. The theme may be new to Kannada, but does not elevate beyond superficial questions. If you are a big fan of Bhairappa, I can't help. If you are not, don't waste your time. Watch Avatar, instead!

A remarkable book, well ahead of its time. The amount of research that has gone into the writing of this book is astounding. Bhyrappa sticks to his theme of human relationships but gives it a scientific edge.

After having read Parva and Uttharakanda, though it is said that this is unlike any other SL Bhyrappa books, I felt that the storytelling through a stream of consciousness(like in Parva) is only varied where it is the journals of the characters and not their thoughts, practically indifferent.
As mentioned in the afterword of the book, the author's focus in on the emotions of the characters when faced with hypothetical challenges and not on the science fiction itself. Nevertheless, the facts are h
