The Gracie Jones Chronicles: Visiting the Vanderbilts
Family-friendly historical fiction:
The year is 1912. Gracie Jones awaits the return of her good friend, Cornelia Vanderbilt. Cornelia is due to arrive home soon on the maiden voyage of the Titanic, along with her parents, George and Edith Vanderbilt.
After the family arrives back in the states safely, Gracie joins them for some time in her home city, New York City, before joining them for an exciting trip to their home in Asheville, North Carolina - the magnificent Biltmore House.
During her visits Gracie joins the family in many of their daily activities, while learning more about the background of this majestic home and the intriguing stories of its family.

Wonderful story about the Vanderbilts
I love to visit Biltmore and will soon be making a trip to the estate. I read this short book because of my love for the mansion. The descriptions in this book stir some wonderful memories of my past visits.
It was great to read more of the history of the family and home. Although Cornelia 's friend, Gracie, is fictitious, the information written about the family is accurate. A lot of the Vanderbilt stories were told during my first guided tour of the home.
If you like history this is a great little read and I would highly recommend it.
