Now I Know Why Tigers Eat Their Young is a popular guide for parents trying to cope with the mood swings, the rebellious nature, and, of course, just the general unpredictability of their teens. With a lot of good advice and a helathy injection of humor, Marshall helps parents survive with their sanity and their children intact.
Marshall here offers a discussion of many different parenting styles, and suggests that you choose what works best for yourself, choosing with an awareness of the pitfalls of each style. It's an informative book, but I found myself skimming certain sections. and looking forward to the end of the book. I wouldn't particularly recommend it.
It was 'okay'. While there was nothing that was exceptionally groundbreaking, Dr. Marshall (who I personally know) offers some pragmatic methods for working together with your teenager instead of against.
Worth a read BEFORE you have problems with your teenager.
