Warm, heartfelt, and adorable. A wonderful little series, I adore each and every character in this delightful town of monsters. I'll be passing this series on to my nibling for sure!

We start with moon bathing picnic in cemetery, it is overall just such a cute mother daughter relationship. Zakuro wants to learn to make sandwiches as good as Noss. This episode transitions to another set of characters. There is a ghost who wears his skull as underpants, and he curses a guy for taking his skull, and vaporizes him with the curse and then wears his underwear skull. Idk about this. I assume this was just meant to be absurd and silly. We do reference back to several instances with Zakuro and later Dolk that happen on this same night.
The references are amazing in this volume. We have Sandy Murakama who is basically Sadako Yamamura and I love her, she's a TV repair person. They watch miskatonic redemption, which is basically Shawshank redemption (an iconic film), and Zamera, which is a movie franchise who is just Godzilla.
We have a episode where we learn vampires can apparently control their hair length and Noss goes short hair for a second and she looks GOOD. No, Gorgeous. We get to meet a friend from Noss' school days who had a massive crush on her, her name is Clara. She married (is now divorced) has a child named Dolk, they are both of the Carmilla clan. Clara is very intense, but she's a fun character. She's very babying to her son and it frustrates him because he's 16.
We see a return of the Frankenstein kid from before and we see the new to Shadowsville angel officer in this episode too. We meet a new character who is a demon that just likes to shapeshift. Frankenstein kid also feel frustrated with their parent because their parent is overprotective. However, every time we see them they have misplaced a limb so I'm not sure I'd disagree with their parent. Completely unrelated, her father is so attractive. I am a weirdo.
We also have the characters fighting a killer who is a ghoul that turned (willing, this is a crime) and thinks vampires are the ultimate race. He is stopped by wolfman the vampire hunter and Noss and Zakuro. Our girls, who impressed the vampire hunter because they are so affectionate with one another and normally vampires keep daywalkers like Zakuro at arms length, but (shockingly *sarcasm*) Noss genuinely loves her child.
We see the meeting of Noss and Zakuro before the adoption and it was very wholesome and cute. Also very silly as Zakuro tried to run away and kept falling or failing to fly well. It was very cute and gives us a little peek into their history.
The comment at the end that while Noss and Zakuro are the main characters, Shadowsville as a whole is the third main is accurate and funny. Also the colored pages at the back of the comic are AMAZING and I adore them so much.
