Third part in a series about Scottish witches. Years ago, when their mother was convicted of witchcraft, the siblings Lennox, Jessie and Maisie became separated. The first books in the series were about Lennox and Jessie, this is the story of Maisie. Maisie was taken by a London couple and raised as a neat lady/witch. When she discovers her foster father;s true intentions, she decides to flee and look for her family in Scotland. Her path crosses with Captain Roderick Cameron. She travels with his ship to Scotland. Only her foster father won;t let her go without giving chase. And the ship’s crew isn;t fond of a woman on board, let alone a witch. It;s an exciting story, I couldnt stop reading it. But also steamy, emotional, sensitive. Towards the end I thought a few things got a bit less good. Although I understood Rodericks situation, I was a little disappointed in him, although he later redeems himself. But I thought the way the crew suddenly changed their minds a bit over the top. And I also didnt like the last scene with Maisie and her foster father, a bit rushed
But it’s a good entertaining story, pleasant writing style, easy to read
