Book 1- Letting Go:
4 Stars

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book when I started it. I mean, I read Noah and Isabella first and had my issues with them. (There were quite a few errors that just ate at me.) However, I enjoyed the stories and got so attached to the characters that I just had to know more about this family.

Colt and Van's story is emotional, fun and kept me wanting more.

Colt is an absolute sweetheart! The way he treated Van and the things that he did and said...just WOW! His personality mixed with his looks was just more than I expected!

Van...what can I say about sweet Van? The amount of shit that she was put through during this book was astronomical! I still cannot believe the way Ty's family and friends treated her! He made the choice to drink and drive....it wasn't her fault and the fact that anyone tried to make her feel that it was was bullshit.

The relationship between Colt and Van was heartwarming and written really well. I honestly felt their bond growing from acquaintance to friend to lovers to so much more. I often found myself with tears in my eyes, be it from laughing so hard at their antics or from heart-wrenching pain at the situation they were forced into. Everything between them flowed realistically and just made the story that much better.

Ty...well I know Ty has his own story at some point...and I even know from Isabella's story that he isn't always such a chauvinistic pig! However, at this moment I just can't bring myself to care for him one little bit! He is a cheating ass and I am so not sure if I want to read his story or not...I suppose I will when I come to it...but still...I don't like him so Jennifer Foor has her work cutout for her on making me care for him in any way!

Unfortunately, Letting Go has a few of the same grammatical errors and word choice issues that I found in Noah and Isabella. However, there weren't nearly as many and I was able to look past it a lot easier in this book than the others.

On to book 2!

Book 2 - Folding Hearts:
4 Stars

Well, damn it if I am not totally surprised! She did it...she made me like Ty!!

Folding Hearts was emotional, fun and just plain out amazing! I honestly think I liked this story better than book one. Miranda is such a damn spitfire that I instantly connected with her and fell in love! Ty is such a different person with his Izzy and Miranda that it was hard NOT to love him!

There is so much going on in this book. The story stays pumping and interesting from the first page to the last, definitely never a dull moment! I was amazed at how beautifully this book was written and amazingly smooth the flow was. I didn't even find as many errors within the book, the few I did find weren't enough to bother me.

While Ty's personality is still strong and shines through in Folding Hearts, we get to see an entirely new side of him. I honestly love that Miranda isn't portrayed as some perfect girl. Ty could never be with someone like that anyways. I also love the fact that after everyone makes Ty out to be this 'man whore' we find that while he did cheat and treat Van horribly...he's only been with a few girls. I loved that!

The romance between these two was fast paced and realistic. The struggles they faced were heart wrenching and believable. These two as a couple made me smile, cry and scream. They don't always make the best decisions, but they give their best to one another and seeing them interact with their little girl..just wow!

Overall, this is my favorite book in this series so far and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Book 3 - Raging Love:
4 Stars

In the last book Van sort of got on my nerves a bit. I fell in love with Ty and got annoyed with Van lol She was just so...well whiny and seemed like she got pissed if the world didn't revolve around her. Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled when I realized that book three focused on Colt and Van again...but she grew on me over time.

Getting to know more about Colt and Van was awesome. We also got a touch of the other family members of course...which rocked! I can't wait to get more Ty and Miranda...and maybe some Conner in there somewhere??

Raging Love had a lot of ups and downs, twists and turns and a ton of crap that I can't even talk about without ruining things for you! It's definitely a tough one to review without spoilers! The story flowed well, the love grew and developed into something magnificent and the depth that the story has reached overall is insane! I can't even imagine the amount of work it takes to keep all of this information straight as you write! All of the family members and their lives, how they entwine and mix and fit together so flawlessly! Just damn!

Van still had a bit of a whiney side that drove me mad...and at one point she even admits that because she was an only child she expects to get things her way and if she doesn't she freaks the fuck out. Anyways, I'm not going to drag on with that. Just know that Book 2 and Book 3 sort of make me not like her as much as book 1 did. Oh well...maybe book 4 will bring back my love for her? I wonder who will be the focus of this one??

Book 4 -

I WILL FINISH THIS REVIEW TOMORROW!

Don't know why I finished it

Juvenile, over-sexed, drunken characters that you just want to slap and tell them to grow up. The stories weren't bad, but way over the top with unbelievable scenarios. Bad accident, in coma for over 6 months, wakes and leave hospital not long after, then returns as outpatient for therapy. I would have thought after laying in bed that long, he would need the therapy before he left the hospital. Then we have a kidnapped victim, deaths, births, raising of kids interspersed with heavy drinking and wild sex. Sex got to the point it overpowered interesting parts of storyline, and I skipped a lot of pages. The best parts of the stories were the antics of the kids. They, at times seemed more grown-up then the adults.

Wow! Just...wow! I don't even know where to begin. Jennifer Foor is an amaaaazing author. Starting with book 1, I was glued to my ereader til I was forced to put it down. The characters are hot, they mesh well with each other, there's lots of drama, there's hot sex, there's fall outs & there's major plot twists in each novel. I didn't think the next book could be better than the first, but they were. I'm amazed at how she can make each novel different from the others but she does & does it well. If you like hot Cowboys & stories that keep you intrigued, you neeeeed to read these. You won't regret it.

HEARTACHE, LOVE and TOGETHERNESS!!!

Letting Go

Savanna Tate and Tyler Mitchell have been together since they were fourteen, as they grew things started to change for Savanna. She asked Tyler for some time apart but the latter took things the wrong way.

Tyler got his heart broken by the one woman he'd ever loved, Savanna. So when she called things off, he started to spiral out of control. When Savanna found him with his pants down she ran and a drunken Tyler followed her.

Which let to Ty having a terrible accident, he found himself in a coma for six months. Savanna became the bad guy in this story for Ty's family, except for Ty's cousin Colt Mitchell who was the only one that believed Savanna.

Colt and Savanna grew closer and eventually the latter followed her heart which let her away from Tyler and closer to her happiness.

Folding Hearts

After losing Van to his cousin, Tyler found himself girlfriend less while Savanna and Colt looked forward to their future together. Colt wasn't handling the loss of his father very well so being a friend to both Colt and Savanna, Ty was her shoulder to lean on.

Miranda was Colt's cousin by their mothers' sides, as Colt and Savanna were dealing with everything. A very pregnant Miranda and Ty had been spending a lot of time together.

When Miranda went into labor, Van and Ty was right there with her. They didn't make it to the hospital, the little beautiful bundle of joy was delivered in the car by Ty. The man immediately fell in love with the baby, who was named Isabella.

Miranda was dating a good for nothing punk by the name of Tucker Chase, the man didn't care about Isabella nor Miranda. Seeing the situation that she was in, her family send her and Izzy to stay with Tyler and his parents in North Carolina.

Ty and Miranda didn't had the best records when it came to relationships, despite their past mistakes they found themselves falling more and more in love with each other. When everyone around them tried to stand in their way, they showed them that what they had was pure and true.

Raging Love

As Savanna and Colt were preparing for their wedding day, there was lots of obstacles they had to face. It was as if the universe was trying to tell them something. No matter what was thrown their way, their loved ones weren't not gonna let their big day get ruined.

Savanna was going through some things, she was really having a rough time. But with the love and support of her family and her better half she made out fine.

I loved all the twists and turns that Colt and Savanna had to deal with. She was one tough cookie, life wasn't fair to her but she never gave up.

Colt and Savanna got an unexpected surprise, they might have lost a lot but they gain much more in the end.

Risking Fate

Miranda and Ty Mitchell were married, after facing some ups and downs with their family who wasn't too happy about their union. Things were looking great, they loved each other completely and their family of three was getting a new addition.

A lot happened in the first few months of Miranda's pregnancy, her brother Connor was out of control, partying too much. An altercation between him, Ty and Colt nearly cost them all their relationship. Noah and Bella got caught in a rain storm leaving them with some injuries. But the kids were alright but Connor was another story.

Living with Connor was tough for Ty and Miranda but they were finding their footing. Miranda and Ty got some wonderful unexpected news that they wanted to share with the family in Kentucky. Before reaching their destination, they encountered someone from Miranda's past.

Miranda was happy when no one from Tucker's family didn't make the effort to know Isabella. So when she saw Tucker's mother talking to Bella, all her hatred for the woman came back tenfold.

When Ty and Miranda were faced with the possibility of losing their daughter Izzy, they did everything in their power to make sure that didn't happened. In the process they nearly lost their family when someone from Ty's past didn't get the hints that he didn't want anything to do with that say person.

Jackson & Jacob Mitchell aka Jax & Jake were born prematurely, loved how the Mitchell family always came together and were each other's pillars when in crisis. Connor was doing much better in NC and didn't want to head back to Kentucky.

When Ty found himself in trouble, Connor did everything to make sure that his sister didn't lose her family nor marriage. He got the proof that Ty never tainted his wedding vows.

Wrapping Up

The Mitchells was gonna spend their Thanksgiving at Colt and Savanna's. Having the whole gang together has always been a must with the Mitchells.

At times it seemed like the family gathering would have to be moved to another location but thankfully everything worked out in the end.

The Christmas gathering was at Ty and Miranda's, other than Miranda obsessing about what was going on between her boss Amy and her brother Conner. Things went smoothly. And as always, Izzy had Ty wrapped around her little finger.

THE MITCHELL FAMILY SERIES VOLUME 1-4.5 box set was beautifully written, loved all the curves that were thrown the heroes and heroines' way. Jennifer Foor did a great job, she'll make you fall in love with the characters flaws and you'll keep rooting for them even when you felt like shaking them.

Pure stories of falling in love and the heartbreak that can go with it! I love the inclusion of tragedy, loss, pain and struggle that is part of everyday life and how months can go by where the "lovers" of the previous books don't get along! They argue, fight, learn everyday things about each other.

I am reviewing this as an entire set instead of the individual stories within the set.
THAT being said, This series had a lot of potential.
I found a lot of it really predictable and it could use a round with an editor for all the mistakes.
I will say that with the last 3 the story line got a bit better.

The Mitchell Series

Letting Go – Savanna catches her boyfriend Tyler with another girl while they are on a break and flees. A drunken Tyler chases after her and has a terrible wreck, which leaves him in a coma for months. Guilt and her love for him keep Savannah by his side. His parents and all their friends blame her for his accident; she is shunned and has only one friend, Brina. His cousin Colt comes to town to help Tyler’s father with the farm and helps Savannah find herself again, in turn they fall in love. This is their story.

Folding Hearts – Tyler and Mirandas story - Miranda is a cousin of Colts on the other side of his family. When Colts father is suddenly hospitalized Tyler takes Savanna to Kentucky to be with him. While he is there Miranda goes into labor and he helps to deliver “Izzy”. Almost year goes by, Tyler settles down, gets a full time job and is very alone except from his video chats with Izzy and Miranda. He has time to reflect on all his past mistakes, he “matures” for lack of a better word. Meanwhile Miranda tries to get Tucker to be a father to Izzy but he isn’t interested. After Tucker threatens her family and brutally beats her he is sent to prison. He gets out early and continues to make threats so she is sent to North Carolina to get away from him. In less than 24 hours Tyler and Miranda give in to their feelings long suppressed for each other. When they go back to Kentucky for Colt and Vans wedding, all hell breaks loose over their relationship.

Raging Love – Colt and Savanna - As they prepare for their wedding Tucker comes back into their lives. The barn for the wedding goes up in flames leaving them just three days to pull off a new venue. The wedding takes place and they can’t wait to start their family. After Tucker burns the barn down he then kidnaps a 4 month Savanna wanting 50k in ransom. She manages to get her hands free and attacks Tucker who later dies however she also looses the baby and goes into a state of depression. Shortly after Colts ex and her fiancée die in a car accident and social services brings him his 3 year old son that he never knew about. Noah becomes what Savanna needs to lift her out of her funk and they become a family. She becomes pregnant again and she and Colt have a daughter completing their family.

Risking Fate – Back to Ty and Miranda – Traveling to Kentucky they run into Tuckers mother in a fast food restaurant, she later petitions for visitation. They concoct a scheme to try to prove that Tucker is not the father and Ty is, this involves getting back in touch with troublemaker Heather. She gets her brother to tamper with the paternity test but then changes her mind when she doesn’t get Ty back. She ends up drugging him and taking pictures of them together which devastates Miranda. She packs up and leaves town and gets into a car accident and almost kills herself and the twins. She doesn't believe Ty so Conner gets the proof they need from Heather. The book ends on Bella 5th birthday party. The series has spanned 5 years at this point and Van is pregnant again and Miranda’s mother is engaged to John the Sheriff.

A Mitchell Thanksgiving – hosted by Colt and Van – Novella as the Mitchells gather in Kentucky for Thanksgiving. Bad behavior by Noah and Izzy take up most of the story.

A Mitchell Christmas – hosted by Ty and Miranda – Novella as the Mitchells celebrate Christmas in North Carolina. This looks to be leading into Connor and Amy’s story.

4 stars: Letting Go (Mitchell Family, #1)
Way to go Darlin'
This was a very good story. It started out with the shock of Ty's accident and even had a big shock at the end, no spoilers here, you'll have to read to find out.

4 stars: Folding Hearts (Mitchell Family, #2)
One happy family
As the Mitchell story continues we find out what is in store for Ty. Somehow his character has grown up and you are now rooting for him having a happy ever after.

4 stars: Raging Love (Mitchell Family, #3)
After the happy ever after
I enjoyed this story about Van and Colt as it told us about the happy ever after. Most romances stop with the I love you or wedding, glad to see we saw the challenges of after the I love yous.

~*~*~*~*~*~

5 stars: Risking Fate (Mitchell Family, #4)
Cheaters never win and winners never cheat!
Book 4 in the Mitchell series was a great read and kept the story going focusing on Miranda and Ty. While the other cast of characters were still present, Miranda and Ty were the focus. I enjoyed reading the continuation of their story and could actually picture what was happening, like a video in my head. Of course since we left them last and everyone was happy something had to happen to make us keep reading. I don't want to spoil the story for you so we will leave it with and old lover coming back and stirring up a fire. Check out this book to see who cheats and who wins. I'm off to read books 4.5 and 5. Hoping Conner's (Miranda' s brother) story is one of them!

5 stars: Wrapping Up (Mitchell Family, #4.5)
Great Holiday Story!
This story should be read between books 4 and 5. It is a great short story featuring both Thanksgiving and Christmas with the Mitchell family. As always there are a few ups and downs, how can there not be with 5 kids under six. The 5 adults who all act like more than kids half of the time with the fun and loved filed practical jokes add to the fun. We do get to learn a little more about Conner and Amy, cannot wait to read their full story, hoping that is what will be in book 5.

Why did I wait so long to find and read this series!?! This was a fantastic read once I got into it. I loved the fact that I could binge read a number of instalments in one go.

This was a series of interconnecting stories relating specifically to two couples: Van and Colt; and Miranda and Ty. Their stories of coming together are completely different and keep you hooked and so into their stories. It goes beyond the HEA and shows their lives after with all the ups and downs that come with relationships.

I am looking forward to diving straight into the next box set and finding more about this family and their ups and downs and more of their lives.

Fantastic read!

Awesome books

These books are awesome. They make you very emotional when reading them. Some parts I laughed so hard. The Ty and Van connection and continued bickering is hilarious. Then through some of it I cried because it was sad to even think about these things happening. I hope somewhere in the next books a certain town tramp that has been one for many years gets what's coming to her. She would deserve an awful lot of pay back from the girls. I can't wait to start the next 4 books...Thank you...

GREAT!

I love this set of books I didn't like the way Savannah was treated in the first book. Then she met Colt and thing started to get better. I think Ty got just what he deserved in the first book. Well to sum it all up. I'm glad Ty finally got with Miranda. I really enjoyed these set of books. Looking forward to the next set. I recommend this set to all romance readers.

I enjoyed this box set. My only complaint was the first two stories were a bit repetitive. But once the flow of the stories picked up, it was a good read.
I really like these characters. The stories flowed from one couple to the next and the multiple POVs was easy to read. This set has drama, steamy scenes and lots of love. A perfect combination.
Looking forward to reading Connor's story.
